It was probably never shown in the UK. In the US, it ran on network TV from 1974 to 1983.

I have no idea how this series could possibly be improved upon. Im smelling a tv version of the mistake made with The Princess Bride. Tough to win over an audience thats going in feeling, at best, it will pale in comparison.

One more thing....and I mean this with no exaggeration or intended humor.....Nellie Olson was one of the greatest villains in the history of TV. Easily in the top 5 for my generation.
