Biggest changes to the Top 100:
1. Miyazaki. I have moved Spirited Away up to my number one foreign film after a Ghibli marathon, and am happy to include Miyazaki's Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle here, which effectively makes him the highest rated foreign director on my log. Spirited Away has dethroned Oldboy as my highest reated foreign film. It has also become my number 1 animated film, dethroning Across the Spider-Verse, which previously dethroned the long-running Toy Story.
2. A new no. 1 for horror: Nosferatu dethrones Scream and enters the top 10
3. A new no. 1 experimental film: The Holy Mountain. I haven't seen any other Jodorowsky's yet, but will definitely get to them this year.
4. No more Akira Kurosawa, unfortunately.
5. Once Upon a Time in the West dethrones The Good the bad and the Ugly as the highest-rated western.
6. The Beaches of Agnes dethrones Won't You Be My Neighbor as my highest-rated documentary, and is the first documentary to enter my top 10.
7. All That Jazz becomes my highest-rated musical.
Biggest changes to the Bottom 100:
1. The films of Michael Schelp have been adding, helping to rewrite some of my bottom ten.
2. A couple of Lee Frost's mondo films have been added.
3. More than 20 movies have helped kick everything from Bite Me! (2004) and Ouija Shark (2020) out. The biggest rating on the chart is now 4/100.
