View Full Version : Is there any sort of "hall of fame" type list?

This forum has had remarkable longevity and I'm curious how my very minimal activity compares to the old-timers (I mean, of course, the ones who've been here longest :) ). For example, I can see my own reputation but often wonder what others have racked up. Just some things I'm curious about, maybe these ranked by, say, top 100:
- List of forum folks ranked by reputation
- List of forum folks ranked by number of posts
- List of forum folks ranked by number of threads
- List of forum folks who have been active for the longest period of time (say, first post to last
- A type of reputational authority: Reputation score as a percentage of posts made.
I wouldn't ever expect I'd crack any of these lists and certainly am not lobbying for any sort of "forum elite" type recognition that would be a source of contention. I'm just in awe of the staying power of this forum and of the devotion and time spent contributing to the discussions.
(And of course apologies for wasting time if something like this exists and I've missed it.)

Aye, post count leaderboard is at the link above; post counts used to be next to all posts, but I didn't want to encourage rote activity and I could tell it was a slight barrier to entry for new people, encouraged cliques, et cetera. So I removed the post counts on the posts themselves and took that link down (but left it functional).
All the other stuff you mentioned is available in the sense that I can run queries to ascertain it, but not in the sense of being built-in or readily available (partly because some of it is custom).
This thread takes me back to the days of getting your “lightsaber”. My brain had forgotten about that from the forum setup when I first arrived.
For context: the default forum software counted rep points and awarded little green icons under people's avatars as they amassed. I rewrote it so once you got beyond a certain point, instead of green icons it just turned into one long green bar, and people called it the "rep lightsaber" because, well, that's what it looked like.
I didn't want to encourage rote activity...
Post count party! :D

We should have a Hall of Fame for members. And I'd like to say Mark F is the first member

Thanks all ... seems like it's been weighed a few times. That Members list does show the most prolific posters, and it blows me away ... 10 people over 30K, of which two topping 60K. I'm working my way slowly toward 200! I'll be sure to avoid rote activity!

Looks like I'm still a top 50 all time poster after all this time.

Yup. Joined circa 2009 and was active for a while, until work and family intervened. Now retired and was surprised to return and discover it was still thriving! So trying to check in a few times a week. Unlike other places where I've tried to have discussions (cough, facebook, cough cough), the discourse here is generally thoughtful and respectful and still at a volume of participants that it's possible to get a word in edgewise even on a popular thread!
