From the creative forces behind The Office and Superstore comes this new NBC comedy. Done in the mockumentary style of The Office, it starts off with Nurse Alex testing a drug addict by offering to get him drugs from the hospital. Wendie McLendon-Hovey (so memorable as super mom Beverly on The Goldbergs) as the hospital administrator, Joyce. David Alan Grier is great as Dr. Ron. Alex has just gotten a promotion but the pay bump is apprently not comensurate with her new job duties. "I'm going to spend about 40 minutes filling out electric health forms...that's a party." "Go watch your kids murder some ABBA songs." Alex appears to be a control freak. Joyce was funny introducing and legitimizing her new breast cancer wing and a dreadfully expensive mamorgaphy machine. Love the hospiutal coming to a complete stop when the computers going down. "Those attitudes are the real cancers." Mekki Leeper is adorable as the new male nurse, Matt. Josh Lawson is hysterical as Bruce, the trauma surgeon. Ron's really got Alex's number....she thinks the hospital will fall apart if she leaves. Mindy Sterling was very funny as a patient named Laura. Matt was hysterical on the intercm. Slight nitpick, but I didn't see anyone operating on Laura scrub before the surgery. Loved Matt comparing the staff to the Avengers. The drug addict in the opening scene was Laurie's husband? Pretty solid pilot...it's a lot better than Happy's Pace. I'll keep watcing

I also really enjoyed that first episode.

Season One, Ep 2. Loved Dr. Bruce's surgical music. ". A big steel wall, that's what you have to have between your personal life and your professional life." "I had a personal trainer once...I almost lasted the whole hour." I'm getting some wonderful antagonistic chemistry between Allison Tallman and Wendire McLendon-Hovey. Bruce the trauma surgeon is so full of himself. Hot twenty somethings are into old guys talking about WW II." That was weird with Joyce and her marimba teacher. I love that Doctor Ron's patient had no idea who George Carlin was. LOVED Matt's question abouot being an organ donor. "I heal patients and they heal the world." If you close your eyes, sometimes Allison Tallman sounds like Ellen DeGeneres. Great to see Lynn Whitfield, she looks fabulous, hope she's going to be a regular, a love interest for Dr Ron? "Those crackers are for the sad, throw them out." "he's brainwashed because he grew up in a time before modern ideas." David Alan Grier is SO funny. Joyce was in love with her married marimba teacher? Loved Ron, a heterosexual, using the phrase "clutch the pearls", an expression I've only heard gay men use. McLendon-Hovey and Grier are making this show watchable all by themselves.

Season One, Ep 3. "We have Matt update the families because it's pretty much impossible to screw up." Did Matt actually reference "Dem Bones"? Erinn Hayes joined the cast, she's been in about 30 different shows in the last five years, she's like the new millenium Ted McGinley. Why did Bruce think the son was annoying? I understand the mockumentary style, but it seems like these characters spend a little too much time talking to and mugging for the camera. "I learned this stuff when I was seven...in a coloring book." Loved Dr Ron putting a hex on the hospital. "I think it's alarming that your finger smells like that, but you still have to wait your turn." They were killing me with the life-sized Jesus cross. I like Chaplain Steve (Stephen Schneider). "Those flatscreens are from the Clinton area." Matt's self-congratulations were so funny. "I refuse to live in a world where they are on your side." I missed how a surgeon got bit by a rattlesnake in a hospital. Loved the reveal that Matt's grandfather wrote a sequel to The Bible. Bruce killed it doing Ron Schneider. Don't really get Matt's obsession with getting rid of Chaplain Steve, but it did provide some laughs. There's some really clever writing here, I'm not feelng some of the supporting characters yet, but this show is off to a solid start for the first three episodes...if you liked The Office you might enjoy this.

Season One, Ep 4. Bruce is so ridiculous sometimes. "I'm usually after the lupus girl...there...that guy." Loved the Mean Girls reference. Loved Dr Ron trying to get into his car. "Do you have a piece of salami, that was oppressively minty." Alex really doesn't have a clear plan, she just wants to throw her weight around. Why would that nurse keep Dr Ron's note as long as she did? Why is Matt taking it upon himself to speak for Alex. "I don't want to go to the zone because it smells like beef." Why would Jayce have Bruce consult with her on the next featured employee?

Season One, Ep 5 Loved Matt complaining about his own physical problems while doing chest compressions. Alex realized she wasn't going to get anything done until she tried Joyce's brie. Where did Joyce get "Cave Nurse" from? Does Matt think this patient owes him a thank you for saving his life? "All for one and one for nugget." Matt's disappointment with visiting the patient was very funny. Bruce and Ron duking it out over a candy bar? Really? I hope Alex can get away with not firing Debbie. "I'm the Diana Ross around this place and you are just one of the Supremes." Matt really thinks he saved this guy's life. "This is a hospital gift shop, nothing that happens here matters." "You could be the hands and I could be your puppet." Matt's obsession about this really crossed a line. Bruce is such a smarmy creepy guy. "Sure, she's funny on the intercom, but is she really going to clear those mountains?" Joyce was so funny in the firing rehearsal, I could not stop laughing. Do not believe Bruce made a stool out of candy bars, that was hysterical. Joyce nailed firing Debbie. I liked that Dr Bruce and Dr Ron forget their issues to save their patient, I thought another candy bar gag was coming. So glad that patient gave Matt exactly what was coming to him. Funniest episode so far.

Season One, Ep 6. I don't know what was going on with Santa and I don't think I want to know. Nice to see David Paymer as a guest patient. "Strong as an ox with lung cancer." "I almost don't want him to get better." Santa's predicament provided more than its share of laughs. I loved when Dr Ron realized he hadn't bought any gifts for his family. Paymer doesn't want to leave the hospital. How long does he think he can gat away with this? Joyce and Serena making that video was really funny. "It's not our to cure being a jerk." "He called me sweetheart and I liked it.' Loved when Paymer spilt the black and white cookie and threw away the white half. Number one, I don't see how that particular tool was going to solve Santa's problem and you just new Joyce or somebody on the administrative staff was going to walk in during the "procedure." I kind of understand where Bob, Paymer's character is coming from, this is real moral and ethical tightrope he's walking. The tray of hot dogs had me on the floor. Bruce's 2nd solution seemed worse than the first one, Sometimes I wonder how Bruce got through medical school. I liked the way Bob turned everything around at the end, trying to smell like a rose. The video was a cute finale and learning they took of Santa.

Season One, Ep 7. Was that Burke Moses playing the corrections officer? Matt kills me. I have never understood doctors' fascination with treating prisoners and how they ended up that way. "he's either got to stop running his mouth or learn how to protect his left flank." Are we about to learn that Dr. Bruce is afraid of needles? "The only thing I'm afraid of is that my lack of fear could get me hurt someday." "You've never seen the Ernest movies? How long you been in prison?" Still love the push/pull between Alex and Dr Ron. Yeah! Dr. Bruce is afraid of needles, how awesome is that? Joyce's flirting with the corrections officer wasn't even subtle, but very funny. So great to see Guillermo Diaz as one of the prisoners, loved him on Scandal. Dr Bruce and the teddy bear? How funny was that? Dr Ron killed me with that PA announcement. Are we ever going to meet Joyce's boyfriend or is he going to be one of those never seen TV characters like Maris on Frasier or Vera on Cheers? Shanked over sushi...only at St Denis Medical.

Season One, Ep 8. "Working tired is the same as working drunk." Alex hasn't had sex in three months...that explains a lot. David Alan Grier destroys me as Dr Ron. Love Joyce's philosophy on gossip. I like the way the camera began far away on Alex scheduling sex with her husband. Speaking of which, are we ever going to meet Alex's husband? Or did we meet him already and I forgot? "Oh, yes, how every meaningful relationship begins...with a form." I knew HR had nothing to do with Joyce's consent forms. Is it weird that Dr. Bruce gets turned on by a woman with a lisp? "That kind of sex can really get you out of a dark place." So we do get to meet Alex's husband. "Not sure, but I assume that I would have done that." Was Bruce handing out the same form that Joyuce was? Alex's husband, Tim, is a sweetheart. Briuce discussing that form in front of patients, WILDLY inappropriate, but very funny. Filming Alex and Tim having sex from outside the door...hysterical. Joyce is a fool of she thinks sh can be the boss and be a part of the group.

Season One, Ep 9. Love that look Al gave Bruce. Was that Marin Hinkle of Two and a Half Men as the daughter of the old man. Leave it to Bruce to believe that he's going to live forever and has a very specific plan as how to do it. So does Matt have a thing for Selena? Like that's going to happen. Alex becoming Joyce's executor? No good can come from that. The actor who played Martin was really funny. "I'm actually between notaries at the moment, Joyce." Love Ron manipulating Alex and Joyce. Bruce's reaction to learning he might not live forever was hysterical. I swear a chill went down my spine when Ron told Alex he was going to teach her a lesson. Matt was great when he told off the family. "I haven't even been to Europe, or any of the other places." Stretching credibility that Joyce couldn't figure out that Ron and Alex don't want to be the executor of her estate. Do all executors receive $50,000? "The little one eats worms, he's not going to get a scholarship." Matt and Selena holding hands at the time of death...how sweet was that? Joyce's boyfriend is a notary public? Seriously?

Season One, Ep 10. Loved that patient's resentment of Dr Ron telling hjim that he needs to lose weight. "I'm paid to heal bodies not feelings." Loved Alex's reaction to the post that said she was snippy. I like the reveal that Dr Ron is a former fattie, that explains a lot about him. Wendie McLendon-Covie was hysterical trying to do damge control with the overweight patient. "A hundred years ago, we were performing surgery without anesthesia. I'm just saying." I'm wondering if Alex is ever going to be able to let this snippy thing go. Wendie and David Alan were hysterical with the patient who needs to qit smoking. Matt was very funny on the phone with Danny Fitzgerald. Love watching Dr Ron play Joyce like a fiddle. Loved the male nurse named Alex...he reminded me of Wayne Knight on Seinfeld. That nurse Stella was hysterical without saying a word. Loved the way Bruce finally meeting up with David Fitzgerald made him feel two inches tall. The writing on his show is reallt first rate.

Season One, Ep 11. Loved the patient not reacting to the anesthesia. Joyce's tour of the VIP suite was hysterical. "What is the human body but an elaborate set of pipes?" Only in the world of St Denis is The Shawshank Redemption always on TV. Dr Bruce thinks he's a plumber? Alex's explanation to Joyce was a riot. "Little gherkins in space with the pinkies up." "We got him healthy then he went to another hospital and died there." Enjoyed the return of stone face Stella. Loved when Bruce busted Alex. "The truly wealthy are a complex breed."

Season One, Ep 12. That poor woman trying to find out about her husband during a staff birthday. Bruce's bedside manner could use a little tweaking. Joyce has never heard of an emotional support animal? "Better fire up the old excuse machine." "I have lost 37 uncles so far this year, its an epidemic." I couldn't believe Matt referenced "We Don't Talk About Bruno." "I think Monty Python was playing up the grimness for the comedy." Why was everyone invited to Serena's thing except Ron? Alex is really feeling herself for this video which is not nearly as entertaining as she thinks it is. So apparently this patient is in denial about his relationship with his emotional support animal. "An animal or like a cool man?" I cracked up when Alex promised Serena the director's cut of her video. The cat gave his emotional support human the bubonic plague? That was funny that the concert tickets Alex gave Serena for a concert six months away. "She's old and sleeping and it doesn't seem right to reach into her lap without consent." Loved Ron trying to get himself invited to Serena's party. Is Bruce the only one who knows about Matt's crush on Serena? "Why is that patient trying to put our pillow in her bag. This isn't Pottery Barn." The cat chase was unbelievably funny. I love that Steve doesn't know who Casey Musgraves is since I don't either.

Season One, Ep 13. Did Joyce really think no one could hear her on that microphone? Alex is kind of a hot mess. Her son is adorable though. Anybody know who that actor is playing Colby Twill? Love Ron deciding five minutes after meeting with Colby that he has thyroid cancer. "I can't think about performing right now, I'm just going to be thinking about my rotting neck." "Here's a list of accents and what I think they mean to our country." Loved Ron's take to the camera when Colby said he didn't need special treatment. Joyce doing the headline...I lost it. Why is Matt wearing so much eye makeup in this episode? OMG, I just realized Alex's son is a girl. Loved the whittling nurse. Can't remember the last time I saw someone whittle or even use the word. Bruce making Colby move during the MRI was just wrong. Where have I seen that actor playing the reporter before? Love Bruce assuming that Colby's shout out was to him.

Season One, Ep 14 Dr. Bruce talking about his plaque...classic. "People come in here with their medical degrees from google university." Joyce having her mammogram was hysterical. Dr Ron resenting the patient for learning what's wrong on Web MD was funny. Poor Joyce, her breast cancer campaign is not going the way she saw it in her head. "She's way too pretty to skirt the rules." Ron trying to talk to Keith without WEB MD guy hearing was a riot. Bruce on the phone with his mother, so funny. Joyce's boyfriend, Sanderson is a little on the annoying side. "Everyone's asking where is Bruce, nobody's asking why is Bruce." Love that Keith recognized the first line of the poem and Bruce didn't. "The cyst is benign and my sisters are doin fine!" Enjoyed seeing the vulnerable sides of Joyce and Bruce in this episode.

Season One, Ep 15. Loved Joyce hiding the photo of her boyfriend before the job interview. Dr Bruce trying to tear the medical book in half, LOL! Loved Bruce being offended by the ball player not knowing who he was. Dr Ron being distracted by a basketball game sounds problematic. "There was no bonk, I got my hand under his elbow." I have to wonder if Alex was overreacting by saying Bruce was glossing over the danger of the surgery. So until this moment in her life, Joyce had never heard of Tiger Woods? "Yeah, that'll work well if you put my picture right next to Tiger's." Alex seems to be overstepping but I hope I'm wrong. "Now I guess I'm back to being the head of some random hospital, Tiger's gonna love this." God, why is it so important to Alex to be right all the time? "Do you ever have hairs on your head that don't belong? Loved Matt's secret that Serena blackmailed out of him. Dr Ron (David Alan Grier) in the breakroom, LOL! I would think what Bruce and Alex are doing in front of the patient is patently unprofessional, but very funny. Strangle little cameo by Todd Luiso. "Outta soap, great! Cool! Cool hospital!" Now that Bruce is panicking, Alex then starts complaining how it's complicating her life? Loved Matt spelling out "liar" with the tongue depressors. "Zero Olympic medals for this guy, yikes!"

Season One, Ep 16. "Like how long can you grieve an uncle?" Alex has to tone down the hypersensitivity. Love Dr Ron's metaphor regarding pharma reps. Joyce would rather get soaking wet than have Dr. Ron be proven right. From the first episode, I haven't seen Dr Ron be wrong that much. Matt hiding his teeth...hilarious. Alex is such a control freak. "Slow day at the old ducmentary factory, huh?" So I'm getting the feeling that Megan doesn't even like Joyce and is using her to further her own agenda? Serena is so onto Alex. I cn't believe Dr Bruce brought in that fake chest wound to freak Matt out. "I complimented her cleavage one time!" Bruce should have faced some sort of disciplinary action for that. This was the first time I've seen Joyce or any other character ask the camera crew to step out of the room. Joyce doesn't really have any friends...sad, but not surprising. Dr. Bruce is just going to get away with this? "Yeah, but I love watching you butcher Amy Winehouse."
