3 part crime doc, each episode about 45 minutes on Netflix. Don't look it up, just watch it because it's better if you don't know anything. This was a national story and my wife already knew how it went. I remembered bits and pieces as it went along. If you are into this kind of thing then this is a must watch. I was riveted and outraged, and it even brought tears to my eyes. There are also some fascinating unanswered questions. I thought it was phenomenal.

Took your tip and watched American Nightmare last night. Talk about the old saying, "The truth is stranger than fiction"... wow. The story was absolutely made for TV or a documentary. Simply laying out the story the way it happened would be riveting enough.

It was missing something, and I can't put my finger on it. Both female directors are experienced with previous documentaries, but something about the background feel was lacking. I think the target audience was women, so they laid the tear jerker layer on pretty thick at the end. But I would recommend the doc-miniseries for sure.

I watched it couple of months back. You think it can't get any wilder, & it does in the next moment.
Quite a bit of madness packed in just three episodes.

I don't think it's a particular good documentary, it's just a wild story worth hearing regardless of whether it's particularly well told.

I'm taking a break from Apple tvs Foundation to watch this. Halfway thru first episode. Curious about what happened but have a bad feeling no answer will be coming in all of this.

AUGH! WHAT ABOUT THE FBI AGENT!?!?!?! NOTHING! He was the connector and the series breezed right over it!


Glad it wasnt as inconclusive as I feared it would be, but this was not a one man job. The more crime documentaries I see the more it seems blind luck is how they solve the tough cases. Uninspiring.
