I've watched all the movies. Just need to find time to review them.

Nearly there!

Leap: Rise of the Beast

https://i.postimg.cc/s26mnVcJ/leaprise-of-the-beast2.jpg

Another Christian flick here, this time with action and sci/fi elements. We open with a PARKOUR chase sequence that then leads to the absolutely slowest fight scene I have ever seen in my life. It's almost as if they filmed the rehearsal where they were learning the moves and they just went with it.

The film is full of bad audio (stock audio files of people running are laughably bad) and terrible ADR. A film can look bad, but if it sounds bad, good luck. The Vatican has taken over and the Antichrist is here to poison our minds. Gawd.

I hate that I watched this.

The Kinky Coaches and the Pom Pom Pussycats

https://i.postimg.cc/d1bkCjHy/kinky-coaches.jpg

Of course this movie is bad, but when you watch it in these circumstances with the other trainwrecks we're all forced to watch, it elevates the film a bit.

Effort people, if a little bit of effort is seen in the filmmaking, I'm giving the film a pass and this gets a pass from me. Yes it is a boring laughless film that doesn't really live up to the title. I guess I expected more kinky sexcapades and was left with a chore of a watch.

I did get a kick out of the family sitcom style opening credits though.

Wild 90

https://i.postimg.cc/pXsBJc9D/Wild-90.jpg

Well that felt self-indulgent.

If you're going to stick the audience in a room with only 3 characters, make them at least a little bit interesting. Make their conversations have meaning, their actions have consequences, and the audience have intrigue. Why am I sitting here with these buffoons for over 80 minutes?

The black-and-white cinematography isn't enough to give the film a sense of style. It was so damn repetitive and watching someone slur his way through his lines is just not my sense of a good time.

Okay - we'll do the reveal in around 12 hours* time. Sadly, Leap : Rise of the Beast and The Misty Green Sky are disqualified due to ueno_station54 seemingly departing MoFo for good. So I'll recalculate without those two films, and we'll see which of these babies is the absolute worst.

Here's hoping ueno returns someday

I really hope so too. If there's anyone reading this who has contact with ueno outside of these forums, let her know she's missed and that we'd love for her to come back.

As to the winner about to be unveiled in 6 hours or so - it was one of two that dominated the voting, and got the win by the barest of margins.

PHOENIX74
01-11-23, 10:15 AM
Okay! I don't know if anyone is here yet, or if this reveal time schedule is convenient for anyone but I'm watching Avengers : Endgame and really want to know what happens so I'll drop a reveal every 10-20min or so and see.

I'm pretty happy that we ended up with a strong consensus on two films, and a clear winner (even if it was by the smallest of margins) - it's a shame ueno and her two picks didn't get to the end, but I think the two films in question were going to be the two at the forefront either way. So, for the 2nd MoFo Hall of Infamy - here we go....

Although we all pretty much agreed on Carnival of Souls as being the best film amongst the nominations here, it's general awfulness goes to show just how dedicated everyone was in nominating the worst film they could possibly think of. Well done everyone.

I feel somewhat wiser for knowing that Candy and The Legend of the Titanic exist. Brando lamented the former as being the worst film he ever appeared in, and the latter is simply insanity in animation form.

I think amongst all of us that looked at these films, Wild 90 and Loqueesha stood apart as being in a whole other category of unpleasant, awful, depressing, bad and downright horrifying. The worst of the worst - both of them. Loqueesha took the crown, and it was really deserved. Citizen Rules - put that movie in the Hall of Infamy, where it belongs. The winner being Loqueesha reminds me of how a film can still break through and be the "worst" even if aspects like cinematography, sound and acting manage to rise to a level of competency. I faced a similar kind of thing with God's Not Dead in the previous Hall of Infamy, with the film itself and it's message being so odious that it manages to tunnel itself below the likes of Plan 9 From Outer Space (not nominated), which was horribly made, but innocent fun.

14. Bane (2008)

Of all of this I only found one movie that I felt was worse than my first nomination. Honestly, the first five on my list were the only ones I really hated. I admit that I almost liked Band and Candy. Both movies had high levels of style actually attempting to mold into the plot.
Wild 90 was just pretentious self-indulgence whereas A Talking Cat was everything wrong with kids movies, making Garfield look like a masterwork. It's also safe to say that I am official HATER of the works of Jerry Warren. Of course, Face of the Screaming Werewolf was worse. But I also admit that I was hoping Loqueesha wouldn't win because it was the standout "political" one and because now that means TUS won two in a row, which means the political choice might be a more common type of nom and I don't like watching political message movies of eother side of the spectrum. And it's a shame that Uneo's just gone now because she put up a couple decent choices.

Anyway, I'm not disappointed with the results of my mom's. Actually, I'm pretty happy with the way my noms turned out because I got further confirmation that The Legend Goes On is indeed the worse of the two animated Italian Titanic movies, and that I didn't really "miss" anything when I compared the two. But I have one question: DID ANYBODY WATCH THE ONLINE RIFF OF THE LEGEND GOES ON? I really hope at least one other person did because it's a damn good riff.

For me, The Misty Green Sky was amongst the three films I felt most deserving of winning this - the other two being the frontrunners Wild 90 and Loqueesha. I had it high on my list as well, before Ueno went AWOL and her noms were rubbed out.
