Anyone watch the half-time show? Did you see Justin Timberlake rip off Janet Jackson's top, exposing her right breast?
CBS has officially apologized for the incident (no big deal to me), saying it was "unrehearsed". Well, if you saw the duo perform, you know that Janet was wearing a pasty; a round adhesive that covers the nipple. I think it was intentional, but MTV is no longer allowed to produce the half-time show anymore. Can you say publicity stunt?

I turned my head away and missed the boob. I was upset. But you know what? Big deal. It was Justin exposing something of Janet. Why couldn't it have been Janet exposing something of Justin?
I thought it was a way to top the Madonna/Britney Spears wedding day kiss at the MTV Music Awards - of course, when you try to top something, you lose your top.
Isn't it insane that we can all love Janet Jackson and be excited when she takes out a breast, while her lunatic brother is totally taking over the media too with his child raping court adventures? What the hell is wrong with the Jackson family and America?

Maybe she’s getting a kickback from her plastic surgeon for showing off his handy work…
For some reason, I had totally blocked this from my mind. I guess it had to do with the fact that JJ and Justin had wiped 12 of my IQ points in a matter of 4 minutes, I must have had some sort of psychotic break seconds before or after the incident. That was by far the worst half-time show I had ever seen....

As for the pasty, it's up in the air if there was one, as photos show a bare breast what could be either a pasty or a piercing. One thing is certain, Janet was not happy.

Interesting. I quit watching the half time shows when it turned into the teen-age pop star show. I bet there are about 50,000 people in the stadium just praying that it would be over...and the smoke left over...did you see some of the players rubbing there eyes afterwards?

Yup. I really think people should get back into marching bands for football games. This MTV produced crap must go!
EDIT=ANOTHER UPDATE
One of my designer friends has done a blow up of a couple AP photos, and a pasty was definitely NOT involved, it is barbell with a sun shaped piece of jewelry on it, and it covers basically nothing, hence her upset mug in the photos...
Leave it to homework to keep me from getting a free show. :p
I'm glad I missed it anyway; I heard it sucked.

Maybe that was just the Patriots crying after getting chewed out in the locker room for letting Carolina kick a field goal right before the half. :p

So fake, the whole "Oops I pulled down your top by accident" routine  ! I mean, C'mon why was Justin reaching over Janet's chest for, grapping her top, in the first place? What was the end of that act supposed to be..?
Anyway here's a "tasteful" pic of the incident just after it happened. Janet looks so shocked. No one could ever accuse her of being an actor!

I'm so P.O.ed that I missed the boob shot. The only thing I saw was when they pulled away. Janet Jackson's titty was such a hot topic today, and I didn't even see it live - I did see a picture though.

This whole little stunt has the potential to backfire before it’s over… from what I heard today, the FCC is livid and is launching an investigation…
There's no way it was an accident, for a few simple reasons:
We were told beforehand by those involved in developing the dance routine that there would be some "shocking moments."
The moment in question came just as Justin was signing "better have ya' naked by the end of this song."
Few outfits tear away so easily, unless designed to.
She was wearing an elaborate piercing/metal thing. While it's possible she wears those things on a semi-regular basis (I wouldn't put it by her to have a few oddities, given her genetics), it's not particularly likely.
There's no reason for Justin to have tried to reach over in the first place. He's not even claiming to have tried to grab her shoulder, or turn her around, or anything of the sort. He's apologized, and said it was an accident, but hasn't offered any explanation as to what he was trying to do.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of backlash this results in. Jackson has a new album coming out shortly, which was described earlier as the "most sexual thing she's ever done." It should be intriguing to see whether or not it sells very well, or very poorly. I can see it going either way.
Anyway, I was watching when it happened, and it was very quick, and very brief. I asked someone watching it with me if I'd seen what I thought I had...we both brushed it off pretty easily, though, assuming it was just some prosthetic, or something of the sort. I talked to someone else today who thought the same thing, even after hearing about all the outrage. It all happened in a moment or two, but it happened on network television, during the Super Bowl, and I think it's probably indicative of a larger societal shift toward over-tolerance for all things sexual.
That said, it has a better-than-average chance of completely backfiring, PR-wise, and ultimately causing a number of more centrist Americans to take an "enough is enough" approach to how sexualized pop culture has become.

Just to let you all know: the correct term is now "wardrobe malfunction".

This is why mankind is doomed. There are millions of people suffering from millions of different tradegies everyday and here we are caring whether or not Janet is sorry. Frankly I can care less whether it was a brilliant publicy touchdown or illegal use of the hands....is it really that big a deal on the grand scale of things?
P.S I will give 2 to 1 odds that they will find someway to somehow link this to the jackson trial. I can see it now.

Which is why I call myself Sexy Celebrity - a tongue in cheek nod to our society.
