I still love physical media and prefer to only buy 4K, since it's the best format available right now. And honestly, it's not as slow as expected. Many old releases are getting remastered and released rather rapidly...

A Clockwork Orange I don't even own on BD, so I'll be getting the 4K some day. 2001: A Space Odyssey is absolutely stunning on the format. So is something like Carpenter's The Thing. Beautiful.

I only own a handful of discs at the moment (got plenty on digital file format but they're not quite the same quality), but it's brilliant to see old catalogue titles getting 4k releases. They look so stunning on a large 4K TV.

I need to buy Kurosawa's 'Ran' on 4K. And I'm hoping a few more of his are released on the format.

I've collected quite a few now. I think I actually own around 50-60 now. I haven't bought one in quite a while though.

But there's so many being released just now. So I'm probably gonna buy a couple before the year is over.

And nah, digital is just not up to par. One thing is the video, but the other and bigger thing is the awful compressed sound... it just doesn't come close to an uncompressed Atmos or DTS:X track.

The Servant (1963) was released on 4k this week. May watch it as I've never seen it before:

A Clockwork Orange in 4K is stunning. Colours really pop out and the detail is really quite remarkable. Really good transfer. I only went for the regular disc but the 50th Anniversary collectors edition looks beautiful:

That's crazy. I've never understood those pop character figurine things. I get that collecting things are personal and have value. But what the hell? A Friend of mine has a shelve full of them and they look absolutely hideous.

It looks a bit like this:

His room looks like a three year old's bedroom. He's 40.

I had to google what comic cons were, so that possibly explains why I don't seem to be their target market :D

There are several versions of the Alex DeLarge Funko Pop. They range in price from about $30 to about $18,000 depending on the specific pop and the price guide. The most expensive one was a limited edition, glow-in-the-dark version.

I'm older than your friend, and my whole house looks like that. (Except I would never display the Back to the Future Delorean like that.)

I have some Funko Pops displayed in the box, and some are out of the box. I buy a lot of them without the boxes because I can get them much cheaper that way. They're just for Hubby and I to collect and enjoy, so we're not collecting them for the value anyway.

I collect them basically for the same reasons that xSookieStackhouse said. They're just a fun way to display the characters from movies, TV shows, music, games, history, etc. that you love. It's just like putting up posters of the movies that you love, but these are basically like little statues of the characters.

I even have some Funko Pops of video game characters, (Pac-Man, Q-Bert, etc.), Ad Icons, (The Energizer Bunny, The Pillsbury Doughboy, etc.), baseball players, (Jacob deGrom, Pete Alonso, etc.), historical people, (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, etc.), and many more.

I mentioned some in my previous post, but I also have a lot of movies and TV characters.

Movies including Star Wars, Star Trek, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Monsters Inc, Wall-E, Lilo & Stitch, Minions, Bambi, E.T., Toy Story, (including the Alien Remix series). and more.

Hubby has a lot of the Marvel and DC superheroes and villains.

TV shows including The Big Bang Theory, some Sesame Street and Muppets, Care Bears, Once Upon A Time, I Love Lucy, Looney Tunes, and more.

I also have some odd sets, like I keep my Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka pop next to my Gilda Radner as Roseanne Roseannadanna pop.

I don't buy them at conventions because they're usually too expensive. I basically buy the ones I like when I can find them at the right price. :)

Sometimes we buy the exclusive Pops that we think will be hard to find directly from the websites of whoever sells the exclusive, but most of the common ones we buy cheaper from sites like eBay, Mercari, etc. after they've been out for a while and the price drops. And we have a membership at GameStop because their membership gives us a $5 coupon every month, so we usually use the coupon for a Funko Pop.

Hubby recently bought a cool KISS pop set from Walmart on Black Friday, and we're currently waiting for an order from Funko.com with a few Wall-E and Ghostbuster Stay Pufts pops.

Last night I put my One S back in the living room to watch Akira. That UHD transfer is one of the greatest I've seen. It is the only way I want to watch that movie now. The colors pop so much with the HDR that the blood has never looked bloodier.

https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61U3OuhXuRL._SX466_.jpg

Had to put the One S in a cabinet and was worried it might overheat, but it only reached the mid 80s in the cabinet by the end of the movie. So looks like I'm back to buying 4K discs again.

Seriously, I highly suggest snagging this copy if you like the movie. It's going to open your eyes.
