First off, which vitamins do you take?
Which ones worked, and which ones worked. Please describe (even in one short sentence) things you noticed physically/mentally.
The next time I buy vitamins in the future, they're going to be chewables :)

I do not take any. a well balanced diet should suffice, imo.

If you have no medical condition and eating right, you don't need them, complete and utter waste of money when it comes to things like multi vitamins.
Years ago I use to start taking calcium chews thinking that would be a good choice, found out after a while if you have the right levels of calcium then it's dangerous to take calcium supplements as they, especially in women, can cause heart attack and strokes...
A book I was reading basically said calcium supplements could cause DEATH... I researched it and stopped.
The only things I take are Vitamin D now and then during the winter, and Omega 3 from algae, both in chew form because I can't swallow pills/capsules.
I think it's very, very hard to say for sure if they're helping.
Most of my life, I haven't taken vitamins. Somewhat recently, I started taking a few: two of them are specifically those purporting to help with joint issues and/or promote cartilage regrowth, simply because I've been playing an obscene amount of softball and volleyball and would benefit quite a bit from even marginal help there.
Only been taking them regularly since this summer, and I'll obviously never be able to conduct a really controlled experiment since I'm getting older at the same time, weight fluctuates, blah blah. But it's relatively low-risk, doesn't cost too much, and seems to be less speculative than some vitamin promises, so I'll probably take them regularly until at least next summer and do my best to gauge (though it'll be half guess) whether they're helping at all.

Only if there's veggies and fruit in the pizza, like pineapple for example ;)

I sometimes take iron. About two years ago my bloodwork came back that I was seriously anemic. I think I might perpetually be somewhat anemic, but the fact that I was donating blood every two months was making it really bad.
You can get iron from certain foods (yay for dried apricots!), but when I can tell I'm not getting enough, I will take an iron supplement. (Chewables, and they taste like blood).
I definitely have more energy now that I'm not anemic anymore, but the main difference I notice is how my hormonal cycle is ridiculously (like, to the DAY) regulated.
I'm really sad about not being able to donate blood anymore. My doctor wanted me to hold off for a few years, but I'm hoping he might say I can go back to at least a few times per year.
I totally agree with the people saying that eating a balanced diet should mostly suffice for people with no medical issues that cause deficiencies, but also doctors and dietitians are good resources if you think you aren't getting what you need. (And beware the term "nutritionist", which is an unregulated term.)

I'll never guess where, so where did you that idea from? It wasn't me because I hate anchovies on pizza.

I started taking vitamin D a couple years ago. Last blood test I had the Doc said everything looked fine. Vitamin D was right were it should be, so he told me to keep doing what I'm doing. I don't know what my levels would be without popping that little pill every morning but I'm outside all day, get plenty of sun, so without it maybe I'm on the lower end of okay?

Nah they seem like a waste to me. My main health issues are mental and I regulate those fine without dietary supplements. Oh sure I take a small pharmacy's worth of pills except they aren't vitamins. Of course I am the most injury-prone person ever out of people with very few surgeries, so maybe I need something? Really I've had like 30 to 35 injuries, I lost count after 20 or so, the past 18 years and only needed surgery for one, now possibly two, of those injuries.

If you have a good/decent diet, they're largely a waste of time and money. However, if you're in the UK then vitamin D supplements may well help for the winter months. I think I'm right in saying that the sun only provides enough Vitamin D between April and September here and, as most people spend a lot of time indoors and fully covered when outside, it can be beneficial.
Of course, having said that, some people do lack certain vitamins and minerals and so, if you have an issue, it might be worth seeing your GP about it and they could do a blood test. Especially if you have other health conditions.
