The fact is that most everything I've ever said on this message board has only been half-serious (i.e. when I haven't been discussing the issues). I've never really taken this absurd "Django feud" seriously or personally. How could I? It's just the friggin' internet, ain't it? Unfortunately, others take my words to heart and develop a massive grudge against me and begin feuding with me. In that context, I concede that my words on this forum, half-serious though they may be, may be perceived as arrogant by the overly sensitive in particular! I shall do my best, henceforth, to behave in a more decorous manner, though, I have to admit, that's kind of hard to do when you're being half-serious! But I'll try anyway. I hope that makes you happy!

We're all here. Conversing over the internet like people who need to spend their time typing on a keyboard in order to communicate with others that share common interests.
We talk about movies, music and pop culture. We enjoy reading what other people have to say about some of our favorite entertainment venues. We like Mozart and KISS.
We like The Godfather and There's Something About Mary. We like talking about our days and how we spend them, troubled about our futures and those we share it with.
We argue about politics, religion and current events. We look for friends that understand what it is like not understand The Matrix but "get it" when we say we loved Titanic.
We appreciate the hard work and time it takes to run a site where all of the above can happen.
What we don't understand is why people would take the time--smart and enlightened people--would take the time to try and destroy what is good about this site.
You see Django, it's not always about you. It's about the forum inside of which you choose to post. Let us have our little community of people; friends. Sometimes that's all we've got!
We're not trying to eliminate you, we're trying to include you. But you're so used to being alienated that you constantly try to aggravate members in order to be "center stage". That's OK. If calling Caitlyn a b**ch is your way of seeking attention, then so be it.
But remember, you have not been banned when so many have. Your threads have not been ignored, and we have fully recognized your sense of humor.
We aren't against you--you just want attention. That's OK. We understand! We ALL want ATTENTION! And you have ours. Isn't that enough? You don't have to name-call!

The last thing I want to do is ruin things for others. Sure, I want to belong... doesn't everybody? We all want to share in the community... be a part of it... nobody enjoys being excluded or alienated. Sure, I'm grateful for not being banned (thus far)... though I wonder... if I hadn't made a big noise about some of the things I believe in in the past, would I still be a part of MoFo still?
Basically, the fact is that the MoFo admin wants me out of here, and they have said so in no uncertain terms. Believe me, I'm not trying to call unwarranted attention to myself when I say this. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing... I mean, I ask myself, why bother? I mean, why should I give a damn? But then I think to myself, it's the principle of the thing. And because of the high visibility of an online forum, I think I have an obligation to stand up for my beliefs, or risk being branded a coward and an outcast in society at large.
The FACT is that I have been at the butt end of some pretty nasty manipulation engaged in by the people in control of this forum. Because of the socio-political views I have expressed in here, combined with my ethnic origins and the fact that I am a successful contributing member of society, I have been subjected to unwarranted harrassment and public ridicule. My name has been ruthlessly tarnished as a result of my association with this forum... and not just my user name--my real name.
Ask yourself--what do I, a successful professional, have to gain by causing problems in a movie forum like this one? Absolutely nothing at all! Why would I bother? I lead a full life--why should I spend my time wreaking havoc at large?
Basically, I came on the forum because I saw in here an opportunity to express myself truthfully and honestly--to vent, if you will. Maybe, in the process, I tread on some toes and offended some people... but, for the most part, I have said things that I felt NEEDED TO BE SAID... by SOMEONE... if not me... I mean, I figured, if I didn't say these things, who would? For the most part, I have refrained from profanity or obscenity, though, I admit, sometimes, I blew my top and said some things I regret having said.
But as a result of the things I have said in the past, I have been continually subjected to any number of ongoing attempts to undermine and destroy my credibility from a faction of MoFoers who seem to exercise admin privileges in here. Sure, it's no big deal... I mean, why don't I forget about it and move on? BUT... it's the principle of the thing. I have realized that if I call it quits in MoFo, it means abandoning the things I have stood for in here. That's something I can't readily do.
Basically, because, in the past, I have challenged Yoda to ban me and, thereby, prove that in order to participate in this forum, you have to agree with him on some level, Yoda has refrained from banning me. I appreciate that much... it shows that Yoda has some level of integrity. However, what he has been trying to do since then... if not him alone then the group of MoFoers who seem to wield some "authority" in here (though that's a pretty weird choice of words for a Movie Forum)--what they have been trying to do is force me to leave voluntarily and, so, abandon the things I stand for in here.
And the way they've been undermining my credibility is to convince people that everyone hates me--by stigmatizing me in a number of ways:
a) Initially Silver Bullet started editing my posts in an attempt to ridicule me.
b) Yoda began to routinely disrupt my (usually popular and successful) threads of discussion by raising all sorts of irrelevant issues of discussion and challenging everything thing I said in a totally petty manner, as if he was engaged in a deliberate campaign to undermine my credibility.
c) After that, as if to mock a poll of my own, Yoda started a number of polls designed to make me look foolish and unpopular. He also exploited some things I posted by taking them out of context in an attempt to make me even more unpopular. When I protested in threads of my own, my threads were deleted or edited behind my back.
d) When I blew my top at one stage and suggested that Yoda should be fired for the sorts of tactics he had engaged in, using pretty strong language, I admit, I was accused of arranging a coup-d'etat in here! :rolleyes:
e) When I tried to wisecrack my way out of a nasty situation, I am accused of being disruptive and calling unwarranted attention to myself.
f) When I protest the repeatedly obvious racist and biased inclinations of the MoFo "authorities" (i.e. those who exercise admin privileges in MoFo), I am accused of "playing the race card".
g) Everything I say is subjected to the most insane deconstructionist cross-examination--similar to an inquisition.
h) The popularity indicator point system, which, I submit, is flagrantly biased or rigged or open to abuse, and has turned into the most absurd means of alienating me from the forum, by making me look unpopular and hated... why am I the only person in the entire forum who happens to have negative points in my popularity indicator? I get along just fine with most people in real life... obviously this system stinks.
i) Now, at the incitement of Lord Slaytan, a group of MoFoers have placed me on their ignore list... which is fine by me, actually, because that means I can now have my say in the public light without being challenged repeatedly over every petty triviality and without having strangers raise personal issues about me.
j) Caitlyn... in no way did I say what I did about her simply to be disruptive... that was the last thing on my mind. The fact is that, in the past, I have had a great deal of respect for Caitlyn... she seemed to be a very deep, intelligent human being with a lot of fine things to say. But she has also done more than her share of snide undercutting of me... most of which I have graciously borne. But it finally got to me... and I told her what I think of her to her face. Sorry to offend, but, in the light of what I have gone through at her hands as well as at the hands of many other MoFoers, I think she deserves it. Still, I have respect for her... I'm just troubled by her attitude at times. Again, the last thing I want to do is to be obnoxious.
Anyway, to summarize... the only reason I hang around MoFo... a lot less regularly than before... is that I feel compelled to stand by things I have said in the past, especially in a politically sensitive period of time in America as this one is. If I take off and leave, which I could easily do and would gladly do, frankly, because MoFo is adding nothing to my comfort or happiness, I am afraid that it will seem as if I am abandoning my position out of cowardice. That, in fact, is what the MoFo admin wants me to do... that's the reason they have subjected me to all this humiliation and ridicule in the past. But the reason I stick on is to stand by my words as long as they matter. When they cease to matter, I'll be long gone! Of course Yoda can ban me... but in doing so, he would only be compromising his own credibility. So he sees fit to let me hang around and, instead, secretly go about undermining my own credibility by various means.
Reporter, I appreciate your words now and in the past... but I hope you can place yourself in my position. Do you think I enjoy sticking around in a "community" where everyone seemingly hates my guts? Why should I bother? The only reason I do is because of the high visibility of this forum and because I want to hang around as long as my opinions matter. When they cease to matter, I will leave.

Django, I’m really tired of this coming from you. How many times have you been told that your beliefs aren’t an issue? How many people have reassured you of that? It’s not what you believe, but the way you carry yourself on the forum. The way that you are always blaming other people for your unpopularity. It’s solely your fault, not ours. You have made a point of alienating yourself from members by being abrasive, aggressive, and rude. There are times where your posting is great and there aren’t any problems at all with the way you deliver your point across, but then there are other times where you accuse everybody of being blind to the truth and ignorant. It’s incredibly insulting when you behave that way and people don’t like it. That makes them not like you, but you persist. When people turn against you, you then start blaming this unfounded conspiracy to defame you, instead of taking a hard look at yourself and the way you treat us. You are the one that causes the enormous dislike, not us.

Here you go again with your blaming your unpopularity on members not agreeing with your beliefs. Let’s see, what are your beliefs? You don’t like Bush. Well 90% of the members here don’t like Bush. You don’t support the war in Iraq. Most members here don’t either. What are the beliefs that are causing this persecution? I don’t understand. The only person that I know of that is a staunch supporter of Bush, is Yoda. He debated with you endlessly in support of the President, but I don’t remember him trying to suppress your viewpoint at all. I do remember you attacking his morality, intelligence, and his style of debate ad nausea, and turning many debates into petty name-calling. Let’s take a look at some common characteristics of the average sociopath.
Glibness/Superficial Charm
Language can be used without effort by them to confuse and convince their audience. Captivating storytellers that exude self-confidence, they can spin a web that intrigues others.
Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering. They try dominate and humiliate their audience.
Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as "their right." Craves adulation and attendance. Must be the center of attention with their own fantasies as the "spokesman for God," "enlightened," "leader of humankind," etc. Creates an us-versus-them mentality.
Pathological Lying
Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities.
Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities.
Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion, it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person.
Need for Stimulation
Verbal outbursts and and tangents are normal.
Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval.
Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others' feelings of distress.

If you leave MoFo, you will not be abandoning your beliefs, because we don’t dislike you because of your beliefs. We just dislike you. You don’t leave because your disorder won’t allow you to. Sociopathic people cannot stand to ‘lose’, and by leaving, that’s what you would fell like happened.
Basically, because, in the past, I have challenged Yoda to ban me and, thereby, prove that in order to participate in this forum, you have to agree with him on some level, Yoda has refrained from banning me. I appreciate that much... it shows that Yoda has some level of integrity. However, what he has been trying to do since then... if not him alone then the group of MoFoers who seem to wield some "authority" in here (though that's a pretty weird choice of words for a Movie Forum)--what they have been trying to do is force me to leave voluntarily and, so, abandon the things I stand for in here.
Yoda has NEVER banned someone for disagreeing with him. If he had, then most of us would be gone now. That includes myself, The Silver Bullet, Caitlyn, Golgot, Piddzilla, R3port3r66, etc. You constantly make things up man, get a clue that we want you gone because you act like a jerk more often than not. IT’S NOT WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN!!!

And the way they've been undermining my credibility is to convince people that everyone hates me--by stigmatizing me in a number of ways:
a) Initially Silver Bullet started editing my posts in an attempt to ridicule me.
He did it in a blatant way that everyone could tell was his doing. He was having a it of fun with you, but you blew it out of proportion (which you still do) and made a huge issue of it.
b) Yoda began to routinely disrupt my (usually popular and successful) threads of discussion by raising all sorts of irrelevant issues of discussion and challenging everything thing I said in a totally petty manner, as if he was engaged in a deliberate campaign to undermine my credibility.
That’s Yoda’s style. He’s done it to Piddzilla Golgot, Firegod, you, and me. He breaks down, damn near by sentences, what we write, and dissects it. If you hate it so much, then why did you reply to begin with? Also, you don’t have much credibility because you don’t ever back up what you say with facts. When people ask for them, you claim you have no time to do it. Oh yeah, you said this once as well: “…I said is that my claims are so OBVIOUS that they REQUIRE no confirmation!” That screams credibility, doesn’t it?
c) After that, as if to mock a poll of my own, Yoda started a number of polls designed to make me look foolish and unpopular. He also exploited some things I posted by taking them out of context in an attempt to make me even more unpopular. When I protested in threads of my own, my threads were deleted or edited behind my back.
Mocking a poll of your own? You mean your, “Fire the Bastard” poll? The aggressive poll you created in an attempt to make Yoda look foolish and unpopular? The only threads that you’ve had deleted are your redundant threads that are the same as prior ones you created. You are not a prophet spreading the truth to the masses, my man. d) When I blew my top at one stage and suggested that Yoda should be fired for the sorts of tactics he had engaged in, using pretty strong language, I admit, I was accused of arranging a coup-d'etat in here!
You weren’t accused of arranging anything. Nobody was with you or agreed with you at all. It was a pointless tangent that you spewed, that was all. Really, your over-blown sense of self is amazing. Do you really believe that you have, or ever did have, a following here? You have no Storm Troopers at your disposal. There was no coup. There was a childish thread that made more people dislike you and your presence, but of course that wasn’t your fault either, was it?
e) When I tried to wisecrack my way out of a nasty situation, I am accused of being disruptive and calling unwarranted attention to myself.

f) When I protest the repeatedly obvious racist and biased inclinations of the MoFo "authorities" (i.e. those who exercise admin privileges in MoFo), I am accused of "playing the race card".
There is no racist behavior on this forum, all of us know that. Your making accusations are a pathetic attempt to confuse what the issues really are. I am not racist. Yoda is not racist. g) Everything I say is subjected to the most insane deconstructionist cross-examination--similar to an inquisition.
It happens when you make false accusations and attack forum members. It happens when you make claims, but refuse to show evidence. You’ve lied constantly here about your supposed facts. You’ve been proven a liar time and time again, to which you reply, “No, I didn't lie! I may have exaggerated a bit…” If you don’t want to be held accountable for your outrageous accusations and blatant mistruths, don’t say them.
h) The popularity indicator point system, which, I submit, is flagrantly biased or rigged or open to abuse, and has turned into the most absurd means of alienating me from the forum, by making me look unpopular and hated... why am I the only person in the entire forum who happens to have negative points in my popularity indicator? I get along just fine with most people in real life... obviously this system stinks.
Funny. You are also the only person to complain endlessly about it as well. I know Yoda has given The Silver Bullet negative rep points and me also, in the past, so we all get some. I’ve given you positive points in the past, but no longer. You’re unpopular. Face it.
i) Now, at the incitement of Lord Slaytan, a group of MoFoers have placed me on their ignore list... which is fine by me, actually, because that means I can now have my say in the public light without being challenged repeatedly over every petty triviality and without having strangers raise personal issues about me.
It obviously isn’t fine by you. You have only been responded to by a handful of people since that went into effect. It actually seemed to humble you a bit, but now that people are responding, you are back to the same old stuff again; blaming others for your faults. It makes my case that you should be ignored by all of us all the more clear.
j) Caitlyn... in no way did I say what I did about her simply to be disruptive... that was the last thing on my mind. The fact is that, in the past, I have had a great deal of respect for Caitlyn... she seemed to be a very deep, intelligent human being with a lot of fine things to say. But she has also done more than her share of snide undercutting of me... most of which I have graciously borne. But it finally got to me... and I told her what I think of her to her face. Sorry to offend, but, in the light of what I have gone through at her hands as well as at the hands of many other MoFoers, I think she deserves it. Still, I have respect for her... I'm just troubled by her attitude at times. Again, the last thing I want to do is to be obnoxious.
Caitlyn is the most beloved MoFo out of all of us. It’s amazing that you say these things about her as if they are actual facts, when positively no one agrees with you. You have insulted her numerous times and made attempts at belittling her when she’s proven your statements to be unfounded and false. It seems apparent that it is another attempt by you to confuse the issue of your lies, or misleadings, and turn it around to be an issue that Caitlyn is a part of the grand conspiracy of making you unpopular. If I take off and leave, which I could easily do and would gladly do, frankly, because MoFo is adding nothing to my comfort or happiness, I am afraid that it will seem as if I am abandoning my position out of cowardice. That, in fact, is what the MoFo admin wants me to do... that's the reason they have subjected me to all this humiliation and ridicule in the past. But the reason I stick on is to stand by my words as long as they matter. When they cease to matter, I'll be long gone! Of course Yoda can ban me... but in doing so, he would only be compromising his own credibility. Okay, Lord Slaytan, I don't want to continue being nasty with you, because you have been supportive of me in the past. Also, I acknowledge that you have pretty interesting and significant things to say.
So, let me explain my position:
I honestly don't want to spend the rest of my life in an ongoing feud with everyone in here. I have better things to do. Like I said, I've made some statements in the past, and I'm here mainly to stand by those claims and statements.
Fact is, sometimes, when I make a statement, I get bombarded from all directions by people challenging my statements in some pretty harsh ways. Add to that, all the attempts in the past to undermine my credibility in the various ways I've outlined above.
All this puts me on the defensive. Put yourself in my position and see if you would feel the same way too. I think it's the natural human response. Occasionally, therefore, I lash out. Subsequently, I regret having done so, but on a forum like this, it is impossible to take back what one has said. Thing is, I think I've done the best I can to be a positive contributor in the forum, but I am irked by the degree of hostility I have to deal with on a regular basis.
Anyway, I have apologized numerous times in the past, but I keep getting this hostile front determined to force me into a submissive role. I apologize for the things I have done wrong, if, indeed, they are wrong, but I retain the right to have an opinion of my own and to freely express it.
Another thing is that I don't have all the patience or time in the world to read lengthy tracts on a regular basis and to sift through all that information and compile a legal defense. Maybe, someday when I can afford it, I'll hire a defense attorney who will do that job for me. Until then, I just don't have the time, inclination or patience to wade through all that crap day in and day out. Like I said, I come here to shoot the breeze and to say my piece and then get the hell out. I just don't have the inclination to get into extended discussions that deliberate over pointless nitpicky details. I just don't see the point and I have better things to do.

There have been numerous occasions when Yoda and others have made racial slurs against me. You are simply closing your eyes to them and denying that they ever happened. Prove it. I have sought and found evidence for all the claims I have brought against you, but you always fail to bring any to light whatsoever. Why is that?

The deliberate attempt nowadays is to get you to leave the forum. Your endless tirades of conspiracy, your many insulting remarks to forum members, your constant fudging of facts to promote your case, and your tireless efforts of redirection when proven wrong, are a few of the reasons you have no credibility. It’s quite amusing how a dozen people can tell you this, yet you still remain steadfast in your belief that you have done no wrong and that the reason you have no credibility is because of a rag-tag fugitive fleet with the sole purpose of destroying the good name that you never had.

If you have better things to do, then why don’t you go scamper off and do them and never return? Then, and only then, everybody is happy. Let me remind you, that your beliefs and statements are not under dispute here. Everyone agrees that each and everyone of us has a right to our own opinions, so there is nothing for you to defend. You have no reason to remain.
Fact is, sometimes, when I make a statement, I get bombarded from all directions by people challenging my statements in some pretty harsh ways. Add to that, all the attempts in the past to undermine my credibility in the various ways I've outlined above. Of course you can’t see the real issue, because that would be admitting that you see your faults. Your credibility isn’t undermined by people bombarding you, it’s undermined by you fudging facts which cause people to bombard you. Perhaps if you only posted things that could be backed up, then people would debate about the facts and not that your facts are false.
All this puts me on the defensive. Put yourself in my position and see if you would feel the same way too. I think it's the natural human response. Occasionally, therefore, I lash out. Subsequently, I regret having done so, but on a forum like this, it is impossible to take back what one has said. Thing is, I think I've done the best I can to be a positive contributor in the forum, but I am irked by the degree of hostility I have to deal with on a regular basis. Yes. I know Django. It’s our fault that you’ve posted nearly 1,000 slanderous, profane, and hateful posts on the forum. I know that you would never think of posting something like that if you weren’t forced to by the evil people on this forum. I know there are many of us who have posted nearly a 1,000 insulting and rude…wait…no it is just you. How odd.
Anyway, I have apologized numerous times in the past, but I keep getting this hostile front determined to force me into a submissive role. I apologize for the things I have done wrong, if, indeed, they are wrong, but I retain the right to have an opinion of my own and to freely express it. You have never apologized, bub. Not once. Never. Saying, “I’m sorry if it’s my fault” is not an apology. That’s just a way to attempt to calm people down by saying what they want to hear, but it’s not assuming guilt. Another thing is that I don't have all the patience or time in the world to read lengthy tracts on a regular basis and to sift through all that information and compile a legal defense. Maybe, someday when I can afford it, I'll hire a defense attorney who will do that job for me. I use witticisms and retorts to fight back against what I perceive to be a relentless wave of hostility perpetuated by certain "special interests" interested in undermining my credibility because of the things I have said in the past and continue to say. Basically, what it comes down to is the fact that I am human, and when I am confronted by an ongoing campaign of hostility against me, which basically is about accentuating my human shortcomings and blowing them way out of proportion, I respond, as any human being would do--using witty retorts, snide remarks, that sort of thing--all in an effort to avoid getting drawn into yet another pointless feud over nothing.

After my previous post i went on over and checked out the thread in which you ban him. Very good way of ending Django's reign of terror on this forum Chris so well done. Its good that you let him stay as long as he did and put up with the mess he caused. And like you said, according to his ranting, youve just done not only us, but him a BIG favour too. Now let us wobble in unison and go eat some pies to celebrate. :yup:

After carefully reviewing this thread (and attempting to give Slaytan 6000 rep points for his meticulous destroyation of Django) I have concluded that he is indeed the worst forum member I have seen here, in my short time.
His repeated bagging of Caitlyn, who has to be one of the nicest people, if not the nicest, on this forum, was unwarranted and basically not fair.
I'm glad I wasn't around to experience all that, yet I'm sort of sad I wasn't.. I would have liked to have offered my opinion on his crimes against this forum.

I joined just as the whole Django mess came to an end but I was hear for his short lived return as Darkhorse. He was something else but members like that are needed to stir things up every once in a while

The main thing I remember Django -- and something I'll always be grateful -- for, were the accusations of abuse of power and Yoda's dictatorial intolerance of opinions different from his own, which seemed to have a comically earnest and endearingly pathetic tone ("come fellow mofo's, unite against the ogre that is Yoda, chant with me: MoFo for the mofo's!"). Also didn't he introduce himself with this huge explanation of a cluster-**** at another movie forum where he claimed he was wrongfully maligned, trying to set the record straight about something that nobody here knew or cared about.
I've never thought anyone else was Django and always think it a little paranoid when people accuse some new troll of Django sock-puppetry. I can understand said paranoia on the anonymous internet but it has been my experience that you're only feeding their compulsive need for negative attention by giving into it.

After that I changed to this name (Yoda and caitlyn and some others knew instantly) and I to this day suspect django is among us.....in a much less ill tempered kinda way. No one spends that much time and energy and just leaves.
After his ip got banned, I bet he incidentally moved somewhere and took advantage of his new IP and is now mild tempered.

I think if he came back today he'd have a different experience. He'd find himself on the curb next to that smelly fly infested trash can in about five minutes post arrival.
That's probably true. I think we were overly forgiving of this sort of thing in the site's earlygoing, and users like Django preyed on that.
It's a fine line, though, because there are lots of great members who crossed the line a few times at first, but were perfectly able to stay within the site's rules thereafter. If the price for giving those sorts of members another chance is putting up with the occasional Django, I'd say it's worth it.
