I was introduced to Gerry and the Pacemakers after becoming a fan of Liverpool Football club. And while YNWA is an anthem that I love (and have probably heard and sung hundreds of times, because it features before and after every game), I do like their other song 'Ferry Cross the Mersey' just a touch more.

Gerry was terrific. So he died yesterday in Merseyside at age 78. R.I.P. to a legend. ✝️
