Seeing as how my username is led_zeppelin, I'm gonna go w/ Stairway to Heaven. Either that or Freebird. Discuss. . .

That is exactly what I was going to post, it is indeed the best song of all time and I listen to it almost everyday.

Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave And Groovin' With A Pict. - Pink Floyd

Or maybe Weird Science - Oingo Boingo

Or I walk the Line - Johnny Cash

Or maybe...this is retarded...

Stairway and Freebird are just too predictable.

If I'm not mistaken... Queen's - Bohemian Rhapsody was voted the number one song of the last 50 years in the UK...

I couple of years ago the readers of Q (or was it Mojo?) voted about the 100 best singles ever. A bit surprisingly NIrvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit won. I think Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane and Hey Jude by The Beatles were number two and three. Bohemian Rhapsody was on Top 5 as well, I believe.

It's Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones. Me and my buddy Ed decided this in 8th grade, and it still holds up!

Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
Lex Rex PerPlex - Hux Flux
Funeral for a friend- Elton John
Kashmir - Led Zeppelin

I must remind everyone, that "best song ever" is entirely subjective. There is no best song, factually.

Here is the only hard FACT about music or songs...

Music is controlled bursts of air pressure through time.

Now that we have that out of the way, I will subjectively say that Freebird is the worst crap to ever burst through the air ;)

As for my choices, I am not even that big of an Elton John fan, I don't own any of his music, but I think that song is a masterpiece. I am also sick to DEATH of Led Zeppelin and hope to not hear them for a long time, but Kashmir is the BOMB.
I love Pink Floyd and the other track is psytrance which I doubt many listen to at all.

In my opinion the best song ever is Sin by NIN.
