Iroquois, I love you.

I made a big mistake ruining Sexy Celebrity and deleting so much stuff, including all of my reviews.

But that is something I have to live with now.

Real talk: that last thing, wanting do-overs, to "get it right"? I'm very much like that. I sometimes obsess over decisions and almost always look back and see ways things could've been done differently. It's really hard not to let that become paralyzing (either while making a choice, or dwelling on choices made), but I think it's a really essential part of contentedness.

Ruining Sexy Celebrity would be a vast improvement. Next time try tagging me in something important.

Well, I don’t think you have a terrible track record, like I do, at least. But thanks for stopping in my thread. Iroquois, I’m tagging you again, thank you for stopping by.

But that is something I have to live with now. I don't think you made a mistake, you moved forward and I see that as a positive for you...I don't know all your reasons for doing it, but to me it seemed like you cleared your past and took a big step into the future with a more grounded Jase ID, as a way to grow and be free of past expectations other MoFos might have of you.

It's like you transferred to a new high school and now you get the chance to start over and redefine who you are, and who you're not. It took guts to make a break from such a well known and established posting persona, so celebrate the courage that you showed in doing that!

Thank you, Citizen Rules. You’re spot on. Best way of putting it. Makes me feel good.

Sorry I don’t have on an avatar right now.

But still, I think I did something kind of stupid. I didn’t NEED to start over. I just kinda... did?

I’m not 100% happy with my new name, though. Yoda won’t let me change it.

I’m on an exercise bike at the moment.

I still have to deal with the terrible temptations of deleting myself here. Frankly, I kinda wish Yoda would change the rules and make THE WHOLE FORUM unable to delete posts. Not just me.

I’m like a cutter. You know, those people who cut themselves for strange reasons. I cut myself by deleting my online persona. Yeah. It’s a mental illness. You are seeing mental illness at work. Jase/Sexy Celebrity has been nothing but a poster boy for mental illness. I can admit that.

I watched most of “Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot” again yesterday. Fourth time. I love the film. To me, it’s like a spiritual sequel to “I’m Still Here.” Both films feature Joaquin Phoenix all messed up and crazy. I can relate. I keep telling people to watch this movie. I don’t think it’s the best movie ever, but it’s definitely one of my top favorites and best of 2018.

Maybe I’ll just record all of my thoughts about movies in this thread from now on.

You know what Movie Forums needs to be? It needs to be more accessible to use on a smartphone.

It’s great as it is, but there are many threads that don’t work well on a smartphone, I think. Like the games where you have to hunt for pictures and even the Song Tournaments.

My computer that I have right now is a piece of crap. It still works, but, ugh. So I’m just going to post in here because it’s easy to post in here from my phone.

I’ve always wanted to TEACH people how to do things on here. Teach people how to post and such.

So I’m going to try now to teach people how to talk more openly and
confidently and be a better conversationalist. That is my goal with Movie Forums now. I want to improve the atmosphere of the place by changing the attitudes of its citizens. I’m going to show and teach people here how to have better attitudes. Starting with me.

Gotta go. Meditation class.

That movie is high on my 2018 watchlist (and thus general watchlist) thanks to your praise. I'm looking forward to it.

I agree it needs to be better on mobile, though the issue you're describing is probably going to exist no matter what. I can't really make pictures easier to find or post.

Main thing I need to do is just fill the gaps for the functions are aren't available on mobile, since there are a few profile-y things you can't do on phones yet.

Hi

Hello! How are you doing today?

Jase
12-31-18, 02:27 PM
I just did some Tai Chi exercises and learned a little about self-compassion.

Self-compassion is a skill you have to work on everyday. Just basically be kind to yourself. Don’t criticize your every move. Remember that you are simply a human being. Give yourself a pat on the back or touch your heart.

You know what I think Movie Forums needs to implement?

The ability to positive rep YOURSELF.

Yes.

I wonder if that might make a big difference in everyone’s attitude around here and save a lot of trouble. Positive repping yourself. Yoda, please take note.

Goodnight and goodbye, 2018.

May 2019 be one of the best years ever.

Jase

Also, this might be the first year I start calling it “Twenty-Nineteen.”

I’ve been calling the years, such as this year, “Two thousand-Eighteen.”

"Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot" is a great film, I agree. I watched it because it was on Amazon Prime and Miss Vicky was praising it.
I wouldn't call myself an alcoholic even though I'm kinda drunk right now (hey, it's New Years Eve), but dealing with an alcoholic (I prefer to say "someone with an alcohol addiction") is something I'm very familiar with, so yes, this film was triggering, but I think it should be inspiring to anyone trying to improve themselves as a person.

Look at this! Someone drew a cartoon of me! (and included another guy making a “dramatic exit”)

I just read that Elizabeth Warren is running for President next year.

Looks like I’ll be voting for Trump again.

Hm.
Im not sure there's really enough information presented in that illustration to know whether or not that character made the exit. Yes, he has his hand on it, but is he really making a claim on the door? As if he alone created it? I figure he's probably just opening it without any thought whatsoever to who actually made the exit.

Do you think he made both exits? Could the lady have made them? I mean you're assuming he did just because he's touching the knob. Why then can I not also assume that her glance in his direction was triggered by territorial claim? As if to say, "Hey. Guy. Why are you touching my exit? I mean, I made it. It's mine."

Should we even assume that is a woman? Or the guy a man? What does that say about me for drawing such assumptions, or of you for posting potentially controversially sensitive bait? And "dramatic"??

Wait.

Oh.

...making an exit. Not making an exit. I get it now. Nevermind.

I’ve been writing some deep thoughts about the forum tonight. I wish I had more to say. Mainly cause it’s late and I can’t sleep at the moment.

I wish there was something interesting going on around here. But, I like the quiet, too. The quiet is probably needed.

It’s very dark and cold where I am. I feel as though I’m lost in space. There’s a profound silence, both literally and metaphorically.

I wonder what the meaning of 2019 will be. What tales it will spin. More of the same? Brand new adventures? A departure from last year or a spiritual sister?
