View Full Version : MoFo vs. Matrix--the parallels
This thread is not meant to be entirely serious, so I hope it doesn't spark of a whole new controversy in here!
Anyway, it just occurred to me that there are some interesting parallels between the Matrix and the MoFo scene:
MoFo, like the Matrix, is this imaginary place that exists solely in the collective human imagination and in computer circuitry.
Yoda, like Agent Smith, is the soulless machine who controls MoFo and who has brainwashed the rest of MoFo into submission.
I, on the other hand, am the hapless neophyte to the MoFo scene, who is being unjustly outlawed and hounded by Agent Smith, the nasty machine who rules MoFo.
Any comments, anyone?
 :D

Die.
Die.
Interesting comment--from the living dead! :D
Does this mean I get to shoot you?
Does this mean I get to shoot you?
Only in your dreams!
I.e. the collective dream that is the MoFo/Matrix!

I'm going to enjoy watching you die, Mr. Gunjikar.

Brr . . . I'm so scared!
Is that a threat? Am I about to be banned from the MoFo/Matrix?

Stop lying. You are getting tiresome. If you didn't want controversy you wouldn't have said this....

...you are so full of **** Django. You keep finding new ways to get attention drawn to yourself....then you try to act like you are "unjustly outlawed."
Django...you're hopeless.

It's not hopeless, it's kinda funny :p But Django, you're just not cool enough to be Neo. Sorry. Maybe you could be Cypher.

Well, all Django-as-Neo and Yoda-as-Smith bullsh*t aside, I have to say that the theory isn't exactly original, being as how the Internet has always been one of the influences of the story to begin with. Yeah, the parallels between the Matrix and online communities are there. They're supposed to be there.
It all spells "duh."
So, sure, Djangs. You've discovered the secret of the MoFo. Consider your food tubes disconnected and your bald self flushed down into the sewers. The hovership flies overhead, sees that it's you, and passes on by.

In half an hour this thread got 8 replies. When I logged on to MoFo this morning, the The Bell Tolls for Thee, Django thread had gotten about 50 new posts since I logged off last night. Unbelievable...
Anyone in the mood for discussing film?

I pictured something a little more like this.

Not a chance, Trinity.
 Not bad, Yoda! You might finally be developing a sense of humor!

Well, I'll still be hanging around to spread the message of hope, love and joy! There's a whole world outside of MoFo, ya know!

Hey, am I to blame if everything I say seems to spark a major controversy? It's not intentional--honest!

I am not trying to draw attention to myself. I'm just trying to tell it like it is--like I see it.

And by the way, if MoFo was The Matrix, then Django would be Larry Wachowski, AKA Lana Wachowski, one of the creators of "The Matrix" movies and a soon to be transsexual with a dominatrix girlfriend. Oooooh, kinky.

I thought you would at least try to make an argument here, Uday.
Instead, you've just cemented your "second-coming" fantasy in the minds of those who already suspected it.
I'm really quite bored.

Hey, if I entertained delusions of grandeur, as you suggest, would I claim to be only human, as I have elsewhere?

Ok, on a lighter note:
Before one of them gets taken, I would like to call on of the Twins from Reloaded. Aside from Smith, who Django (and you will pay), for whatever reason paired Yoda up with, they are the coolest. (Yes, I know I'm defeating the whole purpose of the parallels, and yes, I know I'm avoiding the whole side purpose of self imposed Django bashing)

I don't care if she is female - she's sexy, she's aggressive, she kissed Neo and then had a lesbian kiss with Niobe in the video game, she carries a gun and will kill anyone close to her - she stands by her man, even though he's a prick, but she loves to torture him right back. I think she rules.

Knowing you and your tendency to contradict yourself, yes, you would.

That makes absolutely no sense at all.

Only because you don't want to acknowledge it. It makes perfect sense.
You constantly contradict yourself. By you being egomaniacal and humble, that would be contradictory, wouldn't it? I never even went to high school, and I got it.

 "Egomaniacal, yet humble at the same time?" Moi?
I think you're missing the point--this is supposed to be in a lighter vein--not to be taken too seriously. I'm not claiming to be Neo here, merely drawing an analogy between what's going on in MoFo and the Matrix movies.

I didn't quote anything but your saying Bullets statement made no sense. That's what I was inferring to, not you and your role in this thread.

Hey, human beings sometime contradict themselves over minor issues. That's my point. To be completely consistent about everything, you would have to be a machine--a computer. Human beings don't have compiler programs that check for "compile errors". People make mistakes. The point is, I'm pretty consistent about things that really matter--the important things. That's what is known as integrity.

Is this really your new line of attack? I contradict myself, but at least I'm not a robot? The rest of us don't contradict ourselves as often as you do, Uday, so why on Earth should you expect to be an exception? Why should we make any allowances for you?
The point is, I'm pretty consistent about things that really matter--the important things.
The only consistent thing about you, Uday, is the fact that you'll contradict yourself without fail with each new argument you try to win. That's not integrity, it's foolishness.

How can it be taken in lighter vein when you are saying that this goes on here? You're saying something that nobody but you believes in and in which we find a little offensive, so how can it be fun?
I thought you were trying to be ok. What happened?
ah well.
