Who here gets SCAM CALLS on a daily basis, practically?
Phone calls from people YOU DON'T KNOW in places YOU KNOW NOBODY.
I just got one and I decided to answer it. After a pause, a man's voice said:
"Hi, this is BILL."
Then CLICK. It hung up.
AND THEN IT CALLED AGAIN! And I answered it again.
This time it was a robotic sounding woman saying she was from KELLER WILLIAMS REALTY. I hung up.
So what about you? Tell us your SCAM CALL stories.

It's very rare for me, as my number is x-listed and put on a protected number register. I went to that trouble to escape them because..
IT WAS EVERY DAY and I couldn't stand them. I'd end up getting rude on the phone as soon as I saw it was one of those numbers. Got tired of blacklisting them one by one.

They get you with that. You have to pay to not be harassed.

Nah, getting myself privately listed was free. It took 2 phone calls. One to something here called the Nix register, and another to my phone provider. Killed it instantly.
Only thing now is that if I call anyone, my number won't show, even if my number is saved in their phones. It does show up if I text. But unless people sense it's me, I get the formal greeting on the phone.

Not every day now but someone(with a heavy Indian accent, as usual...) tried to scam me a few weeks back and failed MISERABLY. If you are going to try and get me to sit in front of my PC and allow you remote access to my computer because 'the internet connection is not working', firstly do try and get the internet provider that I'm with correct...
He was still trying even when I told him that I had got in contact with my actual internet provider and they said there is nothing wrong with the internet connection...
You could tell he was getting more angry. I just put the phone down.
Apart from the above, when I first moved into the house I'm in now, the first two or three years I had people phoning nearly every week asking for someone who doesn't live in my house and never has... debt collector scammers from what I could find out about the numbers, one told me that they would have to send debt collectors around to my house if nothing was done about whatever they were on about and that it would be embarrassing for me because the van parked outside my house would have debt collector's information on and the wholeeeeeeeee street would know I was in trouble... and I told them by all means send someone as I'll be waiting with a baseball bat once they come anywhere near my house - still waiting 4 or 5 years later for them. :D
Unfortunately, what is sad a lot of people, mostly the elderly, fall for all this kind of stuff. :(

I don't get many calls, but I can't stand when people manipulate.. Yesterday it was, "Can I speak to Robert?" -- "No, you have the wrong number." -- "Maybe you can help me?" (now I know it's BS).. he kept going like a robot, which pissed me off more, and when I heard donations to some fascist organization (military) I yelled with an "F U" and hung up.. He's probably still going.
Tip: Use the automated SPANISH voice message -- even the debt collectors stopped calling!
