No.
Yes. And it affects my thought processes usually running every imaginable scenario in my mind indefinitely until i find a way through whatever. Its GREAT for troubleshooting, but it doesn't stop after the problem is solved. Instead I keep scanning for more problems. =/
I believe this obsessive nature is the root of most all of my anxiety. When I can clear my head i find that I'm more at peace. Otherwise I'm chasing one perceived problem after another. This loop can be a debilitating cycle, always obsessing tangents rather thsn simply doing.
Patterns and even rhythms can calm or stress me the hell out. Tuggi g on a doorknob until it "feels" locked and secure. Routines help but I think that may encourage the behavior some.
Music helps a lot. Especially trying to learn a cover song. The more intricate it is, the better a puzzle it is to solve. I can exhaust my mental efforts there rather than daily useless crap like flipping a switch 5x. It really does help.

(Did I say "No" 9 times yet?)
Only when it feels like you've said it 9 times have you really said it 9 (17) times.

I have some weird compulsions, but they are not necessarily obsessive (sometimes).
I do a lot of wash (and this may be weird for a man), but if I don't fold a shirt in just a certain way, I have to start all over and fold it until it's "right" (yet, in other areas of life, I'm very sloppy).
Here's a weird compulsion (let me know if any of you have done this)... when looking for a song or video I want to post on this site, I'll find the video on YouTube, watch or listen to it to make sure it's the one I want, then I'll post it on a thread... but then, I'll go click on it in the post and watch or listen to it again to try to get the sense of how it may appear to or impact a MoFo who clicks on it in the thread!
Why do I click on it in the thread? I already watched it! (Sometimes I pause it in YouTube while I post it and then click on it in the thread while I have it paused on YouTube!) I already know what it is! Why make believe I'm someone else and try to get an idea how they will feel upon opening the video? It doesn't make sense, does it?

Sort of, it sucks, it kinda ruins your life.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder????
Yes, though I haven't been clinically diagnosed. Certain video games bring it out really bad. Skyrim for instance was so infuriatingly buggy that I didn't feel like I could even realistically roleplay it. So every few steps when my character would get stuck on the geometry of a tiny rock or something I would think "My character would never do that." I would restart. And out of principle I would refuse to save scum, so this would cost me literally hours of gametime just getting hung up on walking.
It's probably one of the most miserable experiences I've ever had playing a video game. I think I've mentioned elsewhere on here that I also try to let typos go, because I always reread my posts, sometimes multiple times, and make edits just to correct grammar and spelling. I easily spend more time just typing and rereading my own posts here than reading anyone else's. I try to remind myself to let the small stuff go.

I have, to some degree. I can't relax if certain geometries aren't ....just so.

I always thought I had a fairly mild one, but I think it is getting worse as I get older. I find myself obsessing in the store over the stupidest stuff like Kleenex or Puffs, Viva or Brawny, detergents, hand soaps and what not. The worst ting is I am completely aware of it, but I just cannot control it.

That's great. Totally do that too ;) Especially with written posts. GAH!

Not really, and not really as much, but I used to be very symmetrical. During a walk, if my right foot walked on a crack, my left one... I remember at about ages 13-15 carrying chap stick like it was oxygen.
After I started smoking weed at 20, it went away for many years until recently, but those aren't habits that affect my life. Although I notice if I blink one eye, I have to blink the other - wouldn't one becoming jealous :)

Yes, mentioned it a couple of times over the years. From what I can remember it first started when I was around 6 years old.
This is a good video for people who don't know much about it, or you are someone who flippantly says they are a 'bit ocd'... ;)
