I have another thread up there somewhere at the top of the board all about who I am and what brought me here so thought I wouldn't repeat myself again.
I live in Alaska, it's raining right now in Anchorage. (No, I don't live in an igloo though I built one in my front yard when I was kid. No, I don't eat whale blubber. I've never even seen whale blubber if you want to know the truth. And I'm not one of the many Native American tribes that come from Alaska, none of which are called Eskimo. ;D )
But I am a movie fan and I am, with a group of bight young people, making movie shorts. We'll be entering them in local film festivals and while I don't have great hopes of winning first time out, we are learning tons as we go and we will someday!
If there is anything else you'd like to know, just ask. I'll answer, not answer, look it up or make it up as we go along! :D

Excellent! Just like me [well, not the group bit, but still].
Welcome to MoFo.
Enjoy!

lol. My username?
I've had it for about 7 years now, which I first began with it MSN only needed four letters for it's passwords!
A succubus is a female demon who lures men with the promise of sex but at their first kiss sucks the life force from them.
I, myself, have been celibate for a long while and do best when in a group; using the energy of the group for my own. If you think about it, a succubus never gets lucky. After that kiss, there isn't anyone to get lucky with!
And as for being polite, well...I'm a rebel. I figure in a world where rude is the norm and common courtesy is no longer common I shall rebel by being polite.

What is the proper way to respond to rep-messages?
I've received two and am wondering to I PM thanks, or ignore them, or post thanks somewhere on the boards?
Send them some really rude and poorly spelled hate mail.
It's always worked for me, and it's probably the reason I have... like a single reputation point.

No response is necessary, usually. It's kind of generally understood that the points are appreciated. :) Now go out and spread the love!
And I've said it before, but welcome. I'm so glad we've got another member that knows her way around both the world of movies and a keyboard. :yup: :D

Well, I can to do the "poorly spelled" part, but not much into "hate mail"!
Actually, a great friend of mine clued me into eSpell (http://download.com.com/3000-2378-10220980.html?tag=lst-0-18) and I've fallen in love with it!
It's truly awesome!
I right click when done writing and it checks the spelling for me before I hit the submit button on forums such as this. NO MORE CUT AND PASTE!
I hope you enjoy it.
I've posted thanks on the "Shout it out" thread, but didn't name any names.
;)
Welcome to MoFo politesuccubus.
It's nice to meet someone who is so polite in this day and age. I hope you stay around. :yup:
.
Now for the questions....... :)
Did you grow up in Alaska...if not...where are you from originally?
Are you married? Kids?
What's your favorite type of movie?
Does moose come into your village? :D

I was originally born in Spokane, WA and lived all over the Pacific Northwest until age 14 when my family and I moved to Alaska; so I've been living here most of my life.
Are you married? Kids?
I was engaged once, but on our way to Vegas the car blew up. No kidding! I have one daughter who will be turning 18 in April. Apple of my eye; retirement plan in progress!
What's your favorite type of movie?
I grew up with Hammer films (Dracula's Daughters, Tomb of Terror) and Japanese horror flicks (Monster Isle, Godzilla vs Motha). I like to collect what other people might call "bad" movies, but I like to think of as "undervalued" (Innocent Blood, Bandits) and grifter movies (Paper Moon, The Sting, and the recently released Matchstick Men).
Does moose come into your village?

I feel quite secure in my knowledge of the Alaskan terrain, mostly due to my extensive viewing of such informational documents as the entire run of Northern Exposure.

Welcome to MoFo Poli'. I used to tutor under a stage actor years ago, and the one thing that he drilled into our heads was, "The work is the most important thing." It seems if you keep following that philosophy you're destined to success--a few headaches--but success none-the-less.
Welcome.

Thank you, thank you.
Funding is the biggest hang up for us, of course.
We're shooting with mini DVD, which helps, but our budget is like...zero.
We've spent like 65 bucks so far, and 36 of that was for film! lol.
HI FROM A POLITE AUSTRALIAN TO A POLITE ALASKAN

Thank you.
I hope you are having a lovely day.
Today it is gloomy in Anchorage. We are in the middle of our wet season. It will rain until it gets cold enough to snow with a few painfully beautiful days tossed in for good measure.
How is it in Oz?
My sis in law is from there. It was quite funny watching her realize that yellow school buses and mailboxes with flags weren't just in the movies and we have drive through EVERY THING. lol. :)

I had a great day I had lunch with a friend while her children pretended to be feral, it's always the way when you have friends over they play up, they are really nice normally.
I wish it would rain here, on the first of October water restrictions were implimented, we are still in drought and Dams are very low, there are big fines if you are caught violating them.
Where did your Sister in law come from in Aussie? :D

My sis in law comes from Kings Lake outside of Melbourne someplace. Of course, she may just be saying that because the typical American thinks everything is "just outside Melbourne".
Yes, we have lots of yellow snow. Your mentioning it reminds me of a line from the book "True Lies" about a spy who was writing his girlfriends name in the snow as he peed, but because he was on assignment he wrote it with his left hand to disguise his handwriting.
Anchorage sits in a a bowl of mountians just waiting to scoop up any random clouds that blow up from the gulf of Mexico.
And I never thought I'd say this, being totally straight, but I'm happy being a MoFo. ;D

I have been to Melbourne many times, I love it, I come from NSW, just out of Sydney.
The yellow snow reminds me of that old Frank Zappa song, don't eat the yeoow snow as that is where the huskie dogs go, not the exact words but you get the idea.
