My NFL team is http://i66.tinypic.com/w2jcko.png
*Never seen a full game of them, never seen them play in person
I'm not even from Miami or close to there, but they've ALWAYS been my team since like 96'
when I played/play NBA 2k9 *steam I pick
http://i64.tinypic.com/2z5866b.png
I'm not even from Charlotte or live near there
*I also have nba 2k16 *steam ** haven't played it yet
*I didn't know they used the name "New Orleans Pelicans" for some time or the "Charlotte Bobcats" I like the hornets
I used to watch womens gymnastics
I don't even know when they compete.. I just used to
catch them on TV a few years ago...
(no one specific just the pretty girls)
I do remember shawn Johnson ;)
http://i66.tinypic.com/1y6erl.png
I watched golf here & there in between commercials or when
there was nothing on TV for a bit
also I used to watch womens beach volleyball a bit also when
there was nothing on TV or in between commercials
*I remember kerri walsh

I started to watch of Mens boxing back like in 2014"
"normal weight" and "heavy" I don't like / watch the "underweight"
all the guys look like 14 / 15 year olds...
Football (soccer), my team is Celtic FC. My English team is Liverpool. Countries are Scotland and Ireland, also have a soft spot for Italy.
Basketball my team is Boston Celtics. Tennis my favourite active players are Nadal and Muguruza. They're the only ones i actively follow but i watch some other stuff once in a while like Baseball and American Football. Oh also Boxing!
Well, my friends forced me to watch the Warriors game last night. So there's that.

Once a year a church in a area where I used to live , has a Super Bowl party, and I m glad to go and catch up with old friends I haven t seen in a while. And also enjoy sandwiches, pizza, chicken wings, pasta etc. They have ice cream too! And yes. I m sorta forced to watch football, but not too much.
I do enjoy watching baseball now and then.More then than now.😏
Hey Fredrick

Still watch the NFL but it is getting harder and harder to watch. College football is better imo. Wrestling is probably my favorite sport, the real stuff - NCAA, World Freestyle/Greco, not the WWE and I root for whomever is up against Iowa (usually end up disappointed). For me, March Madness is the NCAA wrestling tourney. Baseball is on every night when in season (Go Crew!). Fair weather NBA fan but that may change since our team just fired its coach (Finally!) and Sunday afternoon golf is outstanding.

I don’t watch as much football as I used to but I’ve seen every Patriot game since around 1986.
My interest in the NBA has fluctuated over the years but I’ve seen every Celtics game this year and find myself really into it.
I used to watch the Red Sox all the time but my interest has waned the last couple of years.
As far as other teams or other sports, once in a while.

This might change if England ever get to a world cup final
College basketball is my favorite sport to watch. The NCAA Tournament as far as Im concerned is as close to the perfect sporting event that exists today. I will also watch NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, Soccer, pretty much anything really if theres nothing else better to do but my level of interest in sports has waned over the years from a true fanatic (I used to listen to hours of AM all sports radio every day when I was in my 20s) to flipping through channels now and watching 10 minutes of a Wizards game or a couple innings of a Nationals game before being distracted by something else. I tend toward DC area teams but the only team I follow religiously now is Georgetown basketball.
Less since I started playing more sports, that's for sure.
I can still enjoy a baseball game regardless of who's playing, though. And I find it very pleasant to have them on in the background sometimes. It makes everything feel more like summer.

Rugby mostly. I support the Scarlets and go to every home game. Hence my username. Though I doubt anyone on this here forum has ever heard of them.
Also enjoy:
Soccer: Tottenham Hotspur and Wales
Cricket: Glamorgan and the England and Wales test team
Baseball: I'm quite a fan of the San Francisco Giants and watch them on tv whenever they're on at a sensible time here in the UK.
NFL: I try every year to watch as much as I can but there are a few things about the sport that I just can't get past. If I were to select a team it would be the SF 49ers.
I also enjoy the big boxing events and will piggyback on the big golfing, tennis and Athletics events like the Ryder Cup and the Olympics.

NBA - but it's becoming so soft.. The replays are turning me off.. Every year, there's less and less basketball, and more and more sponsors, logos on jerseys, talk of fashion, and the anti-Trump bandwagon. Of course when Obama did the same things, they turned a blind eye; that silly guilty (maybe they're guilty of something?).... And the way the game is played, chucking up 3's, no more post-game, no more mid-range game, little defense, it's kinda boring.. I miss the big men, team and player rivalries. Now they all tweet happily ever after.

I like your comment about having baseball on in the. background- esp making it feel more like summer. Ditto to that - the slow and familiar cadence of the game during this grueling trudge towards the summer, is as reassuring as having a pet cat purring on
one 's lap.

Hey it's cool you like dance as well. I saw some amazing Irish dancing recently so will find it and post for you. Hard not soft shoe, like riverdance, but young people doing it on the street. really great to watch.
He did a year of college over there and got into college football as well as rugby, now he's living there. Funny bugger keeps sending me football photos and he's always dressed in the miami colours, with a beer in hand.

I like anything authentic whether its "cool" or not I LOVED a couple of Irish
dancing videos on youtube a few years ago,but they were removed... one of them
was a Irish dancing school that had like 9 girls dancing at the same time on stage
*they all had like dark red/burgundy outfits, the girls ranged from like 6 - 17,
they were dancing in a straight horizontal line from youngest to oldest
they looked so cute (I do remember the video said it was a Irish dancing school for girls from Canada)
it looked like they were performing like at a shopping center, the video looked like
it was captured with like a smartphone camera
I like watching Celtic Woman perform as well

I will watch a few games of football during the World Cup, basketball games during the Summer Olympics especially the womens basketball, a lot of the Winter Olympics especially the ice skating and really enjoy watching the Tour de France cycling. Apart from that I rarely watch sports on the television.

Omg Thanks!!Dani8 for posting the step dancers ( thanks also for the Celtic woman) I have loved step dancing many years even befotr it was popular- also Irish music. And Appalachian clog dancing, a form of step dancing I believe. And I love the type of music seen in the movie Songcatcher.
Well we strayed a little from sports but no matter- I don t actually dance myself (when it comes to left feet, I have two or three of them) but love to watch the skill-whether it was Daryl hitting that unexpected, thrilling homer at the bottom of the ninth- or seeing these fine dancers here.

I've been a loyal Mets fan since I was 3 years old, and a Yankee hater almost as long. Mets fans are Mets fans through the good and the bad, but Yankees fans are fickle. It's kind of annoying to watch the Yankees fans jump ship and become temporary Mets fans when the Mets do better than the Yankees.

As a general rule of thumb, Mets fans are usually also fans of the Jets and the Islanders, and Yankees fans are usually fans of the Giants and the Rangers. And yes, we can usually tell what teams most people are fans of around here by their attitudes.

When I lived in Texas, I used to go to the Mesquite Rodeo every weekend. The bull riding was my favorite event to watch, but I saw a lot of professional riders get hurt, so I don't recommend trying it.
I used to go to rodeos when I was a kid but cant support them as an adult. I wont get on a bandwagon so dont worry. Pretty dangerous if you do want to get into it is all I'll say so all the best with an injury free time with it.
Ping Pong - I only ever see it if it comes on at the olympics. Why do you say it's stupid, Bht? Looks insanely skilled to me. I cant even see the bloody ball most of the time LOL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHT_1jllz84
Waiting now for the winter olympics. Normally I dont watch unless I have a ski trip planned but my only ski trip this year I think is going to be all about cross country skiing my sweet lounge, so bring on the commentary.
I just checked out some of that Appalacchian clog dancing, Lady. Interesting it came about when they didnt have a common language to communicate. I could probably do that up and down my timber hallway when Mr D is asleep.
Kiss mentioned Strong Man. Yup, I can watch anything Highland Games related. We have HG here, and in a rural burb I lived in for a while called Bundanoon. All the signs change to Brigadoon once a year and the steam train rocks in. The Stones of Manhood never fails to give me a hernia.

Omg if hernias were contagious, that carry the stone Sport ' ll do it.
Wasaaaahhhhhh- no Super Bowl party for me this year . Turns out the board members of the church where it s usually held had some sort of internecine squabble and banned the very person who put it all together . ( this is not even my house of worship btw , but they have... or .........
used to have...some great events open to the entire community)
I m pretty bummed. No meeting with lotsa familiar faces. No pizza, pasta, fried chicken, burgers & hot dogs , 10 foot long subs, ice cream cookies- they even had pie!
Waaaaaahhhhj. I guess I ll either go hear some music or dinner w some friends instead- but I ll really MISS this party.

oxford dictionary : ping pong: lazya$@ version of tennis
invented by 2 guys ping & pong
foosball: lazya$@ version of football/soccer
invented by some guy who wanted to play football/soccer
but was too fat to play, thought of the idea when asked to play but fell
down when running towards the field with a sausage on a bun in one hand
and a beer in the other,"sorry guys I dropped my foos" he said

LMAO! I'm like that with Rugby, Lady. When the All Blacks play I watch the haka, say the ABs have already won, then go do something else. The Stones of Manhood, however, has me groaning in pain. Highland Games are so much fun if you ever get the chance. So much going on, and the bag pipes look so difficult it always looks like a sport to me, especially the pipe bands. I took my old Dad to it when I lived in that rural town and we both cried during the marching band. Lol I said it was our celtic blood and he laughed.
Getting back to the Stones of Manhood (Madness), the guys never took their shirts off when I went to see it. Dayum they are so so big, and so genetically gifted *swoon*. That chap in the last photo is one hell of a man!
I said "dumb"
Yes you did, Bht, and I realised after posting.
Sorry, I'm obviously a different generation to you because I've never heard of the jokes about ping pong or foosball. That all flew right over my head.
Professional basketball, baseball, and football used to be my obsession and movies were just something I loved and watched what interested me. Now that has completely flipped. A big reason may be that I moved from NY to GA so it would cost big bucks to have access to my teams: Bills, Yankees, and Knicks. My waning interest could also have something to do with neither the Bills or Knicks being any good for a decade. There is still nothing better to me than playoff sports, I am interested in every game. I can watch sports at any given time though, especially since my boys now love them.
All that being said this is my favorite day of the year. The only holiday I truly care about. Happy Super Bowl Sunday Mofo. #anyteambutthepatriots

Yeah the big American sports are on my bucket list to see. Add basketball. First thing that comes to mind when discussing american culture for me is sport. (then comes utterly enormous meal size servings in USA *eek! Tht's gotta be a sport)
Wooo Winter Olympics starts next week. I'll have that on in the background for soothing sounds but the tv coverage here is absolutely woeful!

Not sure why but I can't watch the Olympics like I used to. I will watch some skiing though. I like that in the winter and swimming in the summer. Like you I keep it on in the background when I am home.
Another reason that my obsession has probably waned on sports in general is ESPN. They have become an editorializing network just like the news but centered on sports of course. Used to love getting my sports fix there. I barely turn it on anymore if it's not for a specific game.
I might just be becoming an old curmudgeon.
I might just be becoming an old curmudgeon.
Yeah me too. I havent really watched it like I did back in 2000 when the then boss let us have a tv. The atmosphere in Sydney was just so wild. Fantastic time. The term Post Sydney Olympics Depression was coined after it finished. Such a festival feel down by the harbour area where tv channels had big TVs up and when you stood in the crowd to watch everyone was just talking with each other - tourists and locals alike. It was really nice.
Now I just like the background noise then get up when a blink and you miss it segment starts. I like the cultural aspects when they show it as well. The coverage here though - so bad the ceo of that network should be smacked around a bit and lose the millions he earns every year.
Disclaimer, I do not condone violence but yep, the coverage is ...have I said So Bad!

This cant be stressed enough... Im pretty conflicted with this Superbowl actually. You have the most annoying entitled fans in the NFL on one side and the most obnoxious violent fans in the NFL on the other side. I will still pull for the Eagles because, you know, "anybodybutthepatriots" (and theyve never won one so I'll give em one) but Im still hoping that somehow the Vikings will find a way to sneak in there and pull it off.

Words can't express how hard I was rooting for the Vikings and Jags. I always tease that the Patriots success is my penance for being a Yankees fan. I know how the Yankee haters feel and can have some empathy. So frustrating to constantly watch a team you hate win. My youngest loves Brady and the Patriots on top of it all. Insult to injury and what not.
Just thought of two more
Woodchopping at Sydney Royal Easter Show. Pretty damn thrilling stuff, lemme tell ya. The crowd goes berserk and you have to be quick to get into it.
Speaking of Sydney Royal (largest Ag show in southern Hemisphere) Pig Barge Jumping (aka And Pigs Might Fly) and Racing is also very popular.

Omg Dani8 we have a county fair here once a year, and I love nothing better than watching pig races and (we call them) dock diving dogs.Everything you posted was fun!
And this was the best Super Bowl for me yet. I went out to eat and then to a concert with friends and then we went out to eat again. I got home so late didn't have to watch the game at all 😜Not only that, the team I woulda rooted for (valient underdogs) won, and I didn't have to see one excrutiating moment of the game. Now that' s a super bowl the way it s meant to be.

I think with a long run of success comes a certain air of entitlement, but Patriot fans really are no different than any other fans.
Words can't express how hard I was rooting for the Vikings and Jags.
Did you really want to watch the Jags play in the Super Bowl? I would think that without a dog in the fight, you would at least want to see a great game, and every Pat's Super Bowl during this reign has been very exciting. On top of that, as a Pat's hater, I would think there's nothing better then seeing them lose in the final game.

On top of that, as a Pat's hater, I would think there's nothing better then seeing them lose in the final game.
This is true but they don't lose often. You root for the Yankees to get to the series in case they lose?

I'm happier when the Yankees lose than I am when the Red Six win. I've always looked at the Super Bowl different though. I just always want to see an entertaining game.

This one was a good game but usually could care less unless it's da pack.

Me too. There has been plenty of Patriot Super Bowls that weren't. The only one they won that was was last year and that was brutal to watch.

That wasn't fun to watch. That was just plain stupid that the Falcons blew it.

As a Bills fan I love a good 4 touchdown comeback...just not when it is the Pats.
