Who are these two Stirchley? Incidentally I like the snake necklace on the second outfit.

Love George’s suit. Hate Amal’s dress. Yellow is a very hard color to wear.

Victoria Beckham looks hideous. Another messy hairdo.

Love this very simple coat from Goat Fashion, which is a British design house favored by the younger royals. Wonder how much this coat retails for?
44715
Meghan wore a very pretty dress from the same design house at her 1st royal garden party this week.
44716
Very nice photo from a royal wedding pool photographer. As someone pointed out, it coincidentally has a heart shape, sort of.
Clare Waight Keller, the British designer of Meghan’s wedding dress, is from my hometown of Birmingham, UK. :)

Very nice spring coat and I like that color - not too practical for me though, as I need a shorter jacket to be comfortable when I'm out and about. Specially walking through the woods -which is how I love to spend the spring months. However if I'm ever invited to a Royal extravaganza. that's the coat I'd wear.
Stitchley, I know this thread is mostly for elegant fashions and it IS a pleasure to see- but wonder if you have any recommendations of sports/outdoor wear other than me consulting my LL Besn catalog?

lenslady, read my OP. Thread is not confined to “elegant fashions”. Not at all.
No clue on sports & outerwear since I never wear or buy stuff like that. My go to walking outfit in the winter is 5 layers of whatever is clean. In the summer shorts & a tee shirt.

Incredible that this dress cost $260,000. Does that include the veil, which had tons of hand-embroidery?
44753
This outfit doesn’t do much for Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. Very matchy-matchy, as is her wont. Shiny fabric of the jacket is at odds with the pants & the shoes don’t go with the pants length.

Some very non-descript outfits on Monday at the annual CFDA fashion awards in NYC. Either non-descript or horrible. Surprising for a fashion awards event. The only woman who looked fabulous, IMO, was Gigi Hadid.

Melania Trump looking very nice. I wouldn’t wear a coat like this as a coat dress, which she is doing. A coat dress, by definition, is worn alone (nothing on top or underneath it), but she has clothes under this coat.

Oh that's unfortunate – I'd happily volunteer :).
In this ensemble I like her bag the most. The polka dot scarf is a strange beast to me because it immediately evokes memories of Doctor Who, specifically Tom Baker's long scarf and Colin Baker's polka dot cravats. This outfit is like a strange crossbreed of both :D.

I like the overall effect but I'm still critical :p.
I like the bag, though it could do with less metal. The 'suspenders' being so thin makes them seem a bit irrelevant. The liquorice-like belt is nice but the tied section is a bit ungainly. Also I think the logo's unnecessary.

I’ve posted before that I’m not a fan of flat-chested women in low-cut outfits. Emma Stone & Emma Roberts are both fond of this look. I do like Emma’s little bag though. I like small bags with a different shape than the norm. Otherwise, I don’t care for her outfit at all.

The bag's great :). It may be the case that if the person in question is very skinny as well as being flat-chested it will be more difficult to carry off a low-cut outfit. I tend to quite like that look though. Mia Sara in Legend is a great cinematic example.

I didn’t read that.
What strikes me about this dress & the occasion is how relaxed & confident MM looks in her own milieu rather than when she is on the royal stage where she often seems shy & unsure of herself.
Yeah, I suppose that's true.

Oof. Major misstep for Queen Maxima. It’s a jumpsuit apparently. Horrible shoes & the outfit is unflattering & wrinkly.

Don’t always like what she wears or her colors (too much of this greeny-yellow), but the fabrics she chooses are of the finest quality. Love this houndstooth coat.

Well, Stirchley once invited me to post some of my picks of fashions for men here. And since Yoda recently asked for advice about picking out a proper suit , I thought I'd post a few timeless options on this timeless thread.
As I've stated, I am partial to the style of the classic 3 piece suit. So, following are a few suits that any man could be proud and happy to take home -(and needless to say, a few men that any woman could be proud to take home. And happy, if not ecstatic. ;D)
First off, the always stylish Dylan McDermott
51489
lenslady
02-07-19, 05:08 PM
Next, a man who doesn't often wear a suit , especially when he's scrambling around the jungle. But Harrison Ford, as the old school Professor Jones, never seems to go out of style for me.51490

For some men, the classic dark suit is not always a necessity. And in the case of Steve McQueen, a lighter grey pattern can be quite dapper. This one's especially for Stirchley, who I believe is some kind of modest fan of the man. ( I can stop any time - really I can lol)51491

She is handsome, but her outfits misfire maybe 25% of the time, which, I guess, is not too bad. My chief complaint is that she’s a very fussy dresser & very matchy-matchy, both of which can make her look older than she is.

I've seen pictures of Diana's outfits that Mrs. Trump's were possibly modeled after. IMO Diana's were more chic, rather in keeping with her youthful personality.
Mrs. Trump's outfit is more subdued, but appropriate for her Brit appearances. She's certainly beautiful, classy and stylish; one of the great examples representing a First Lady for the U.S.

Round the middle of his seven years in Doctor Who Tom Baker suggested that, instead of a travelling companion, the Doctor could have a talking cabbage perched on his shoulder. This doesn't look far off :).

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands on a state visit to India. Gorgeous dress in the 1st photo & a tribute to Indian design. The clutch is gorgeous.
2nd outfit would have been fine without the hat & the shoulder drapery. Many times the Queen needs an editor as she tends to go OTT.
