Wow. I havent seen the 1971 movie but part one of the mini series which premiered last night in Aus had me glued to the screen and totally unnerved. Kriv Stenders did an amazing job.

I really like the 70s movie. I can't find much local info on this series (not big in the states I guess), but I want to see it.
I really don't care for most Australian 70's/80's films and I did not like the original but I'd watch a miniseries.

Sam, I just found the first episode to have such a gnarly yet subtle underlying tension I was quite uncomfortable, and that was compounded the whole time by me wondering what the hell I would do in that situation.

Love the film. Didn't know it was a miniseries. I'm in 2 minds whether to watch it. Maybe I'll keep an eye on this thread.

It is available. Just not by normal methods. It all depends on how comfortable you are with those methods I guess.

Yeah feel feel to blame crappy aussie distribution. Really terrible. And they wonder why australia is the largest nation of pirates in the world.
