i ve always been a big fan of sly http://image.ibb.co/k2mvrG/34782_nighthawks.jpg (http://imgbb.com/), and i ve seen pretty much all of his movies, this movie came at a time rocky was the talk of the people and the world of cinema, this movie is quite different when it comes to sly s role in general in his career, he plays a somewhat low key cop with his other buddy cop lando calrisian from star wars xd, sly here is dowb to earth in hia portrayal if i may say, he doesn t always have the camera spotlight, it is shared btw him and lando xd.
i like the direction a lot here and the grim look and feel of the film, a movie about terrorism.
i would hve to say none can play a bad guy better than rutger hauer, the actor just drips villainesque approach, mean look and sadistic behavior, rutger has it all here, he s a ruthless bastard here and he can make u feel that u wanna kill him first time u see him, rutger hauer is sublime here to say the least.
have u guys seen this film andwhat are ur impressions.

I love Nighthawks, especially because of Rutger Hauer's performance; casually vicious.

"I'm an international terrorist and I'm wanted by the police".

As you mention, Stallone and Billy Dee Williams are a fun duo and get equal attention. Nigel Davenport's really good in it as well – he was in some fantastic films; I've just been enjoying him again in Villain. Funny to see Persis Khambatta with hair as I only knew her from Star Trek: The Motion Picture – she's great too.

I've just read up on it again and apparently it was planned as The French Connection III. I'm glad it worked out the way it did.
