Ta-da! Here is my obligatory, introductory first post from me, Sylvie :D. I've loved movies for as long as I can remember although it's been a couple months since my last theatre visit. I will never shy away from discussing movies, however, and thought this forum looked good for doing just that. I like a little bit of everything, but I lean a little towards the more indie stuff. I DO however find some guilty pleasure in sci-fi and super hero movies, which I suppose aren't really guilty but being a person in her almost late 40's I feel like I need to say that ;).

Hope to meet a lot of you and chat loads!

@Sylvie (http://www.movieforums.com/community/member.php?u=98865)

WELCOME to MoFO Sylvie!

You like Indie films, cool! That makes two of us. I'm still needing to see Bottle Rocket, well one of these days I'll get to it. I'm not big on super hero movies, but I do like sci-fi... and love old B&W movies. Do you ever watch anything from the 1930s-50s?

I hope you stick around, MoFo (that's what we call Movie Forums)...MoFo is the best movie board around. Hell it might be the best board around period! And we do a lot more that just chat about movies, we have all sorts of group activities.

Nice to meet ya!:)

Thanks again, guys! :D Citizen Rules, definitely put Bottle Rocket on the top of your TBW list. Anything Wes Anderson is gold, IMO but Bottle Rocket will be my fave of his and will always be in my top 10.

I do like older movies from that time period, mostly thrillers and musicals, but I'm not that hard to please when it comes to B&W ;).

Hey, Joel! Yeah, WES! What is your 1st fave of his? :D

The Royal Tenenbaums is my favorite!

I thought it did what Wes does perfectly. I consider it his masterpiece.

Bottle Rocket I favor 2nd as having the most heart. Like, really, really good movie disguised as a silly comedy.

How's bout you?

We did a musical Hall of Fame movie watching event a few months ago. It was fun and there was a number of good musicals nominated. There will be another someday, and you're invited!

Joel: The Royal Tenenbaums is an excellent Anderson flic! BR is my clear fave, but honestly I can't decide between the others. I want to say the Grand Budapest Hotel, but then I remember Fantastic Mr. Fox and A Life Aquatic and Moonrise Kingdom and... lol

Citizen Rules: That musical Hall of Fame sounds like a blast! I hope you all have another one at some point. I think my #1 is Singin' in the Rain, but I also love 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, State Fair, On the Town, Holiday Inn, I could go on for awhile. What about you?

CosmicRunaway: One of the best lines of that movie, I love it!

I love all those! I don't know if I could even pick a favorite from that group. Good taste:)

If you look at my profile and see my Top 10 movies, you'll see a couple of my favorite musicals.

Here's a link to the last Musical Hof. I'm sure you don't want to read the entire thread, as it's pretty long. But if you look at the first post you can see what an Hof is all about and also there's links to members reviews of the movies. On the second post is the movies that were nominated. I nominated: Meet Me In St Louis

Hey! You have some great films in your top 10 :D. Some I've seen but most I've not so I took note!

Sorry, though, I didn't see a link in your post? Is there an easy way for me to find this HOF? Meet Me in St. Louis is such a fine film. I used to have a bit of a crush on the next door neighbor, Tom Drake, as a teen, lol.
