Remember singer Kelly Clarkson? When she first hit the scene she was pretty with a terrific body. Sad what she has done to herself. First picture is then. Second picture is now.

Can you think of other famous women who did not take care of themselves as they got older?

Interesting thread, but it has the potential to become a thread about famous women who have gotten fat. Which, presumably, was not what you were thinking of?
And, BTW, I don't think Kelly Clarkson has let herself go at all. She's just heavier than she was before.
Which, presumably, was not what you were thinking of?

You spend way too effort finding ways to offend yourself... It's always the little, meaningless issues, especially in relative to real world problems.
And why are women specially targetted.
Please, the correct wording is "females".

Semantics.. You do this constantly, pick and choose depending on what's trendy. It's exhausting and all the political correctness not only does nothing, it backfires. Instead of tackling real issues, it's easy to be a "trendy justice warrior", but it's phony, and it's not progressive politically at all.. Instead of dividing groups, you should use terms like "humans" or "humanity" so that no human being is excluded...

Where on earth did I ever claim to be a trendy justice warrior? Holy smokes so many wizards around lately. And if you must know, I would have responded exactly the same way if it was a body shaming thread about men or kids. Now you tell me how a thread like this is going to right all the issues in the world that you brought up.
I dont even know who she is and had to look her up. She;s put up with constant ridicule about her weight because she was the largest contestant on that show, And by the way, she's lost most of that baby weight since that photo anyway! Just the usual mean spirited crap to point the finger at celebrities and dissect every aspect of their lives and physiques. I thought this was just a thing on other social media, not on mofo
Instead of dividing groups, you should use terms like "humans" or "humanity" so that no human being is excluded..
Well well well. Isnt that interesting...

It's not fair to define a person's concern as meaningless. I've said my piece already, but if a person has a concern about gender equality I see nothing wrong with raising that issue. In numerous places around the world this particular issue is a real world problem.

I cannot wait until one day you have a daughter who gets teased at school because she puts on a bit of weight. Perhaps she gets a bit depressed? Starts cutting herself? Or worse? I am sure you will love to hear somebody tell you to worry about "real" or "non-trendy" issues. What's frustrating is actually people like you who just don't get it.

It's rife. Any wonder kids grow up not knowing what their bodies should look like and end up with incurable eating disorders. Even today Gillian Anderson is being bashed for being 'too skinny' and needing to eat some steak and potatoes. WTH?

So what exactly does it mean to let oneself go?
Blowing off some imposed standard?
Some people get fat. It's a metabolic thing coupled with some food over-indulgence. Some people medicate with food.
Oddly, some also medicate on the crack pipe and get super skinny. I've not heard of those people referred to as someone who's let themselves go.
By the by, I hate the fat acceptance crowd. Most people don't like fat people (which is the real basis for this thread).
It's like free speech. You can have your Twinkies but don't expect human nature to change because you're sensitive. Just like talking smack might earn you a gut punch. Free to do as one will, not free of consequences (even if they're only social ones).
Grow a thicker skin. Own it.
Also, if you don't like fat people, don't beat around the bush. I would like this thread a lot better if it was titled "I used to think Kelly Clarkson was hot until she got fat".
At least that would be honest.

I'm not trying to single anyone out. But if you're saying that calling out a thread that's specifically designed to shame famous women for their bodies is "PC"...
Well, if you ever had a principle that lead you to being "anti-PC", you've lost your bearings.

You don't combat political correctness by being boorish for its own sake.
Kelly Clarkson looks great to me, and still a pretty girl. She looks a bit like Brit singer Adele in the second pic, and Adele looks great too.

You're a goddess, ash. You're also as smart as a whip, confident, talented and pretty fearsome - an A1 sparring partner. One day millennials will grow up and realise that ridiculing another person's looks does not make up for a complete lack of self respect.

I take one look at her face and think genetics, not exclusively being careless with her own body. I like thick women so to me it's not a shame. This is a very stupid thread, btw.
Clarkson might've been doing speed or other metabolism enhancing drugs to maintain her figure. If she stopped, she's actually healthier even though she is at risk for cardiac/circulation issues.
I think fat shaming is as bad as a kkk tally and anyone who thinks they should be made fun deserves to get their asses painfullyhumbled
I find people who take joy in pointing out the physical inadequacies of others are making up for an issue they feel inferior about. This thread boils down to "you chicks need to stay young and skinny or I might lose my boner".

The real question is whether or not this is worse than OP's other thread about how climate change is a myth.
That one was way worse - I knew there was another master baiting thread but forgot what it was until you mentioned it. A couple of weeks time and there will be another, no doubt.
Since the OP hasn't shown any desire to clarify, defend, or add to the original premise, I'm going to say this thread was probably meant to be provocative for its own sake and probably wasn't a genuine attempt to discuss anything, so I'm closing it.
