Survivor Cash Game [Archive]

I will be creating a Survivor game like you have never seen before. The challenges will be both "live" and delayed. The Players will be quality Gents/Gals that have earned a spot - be it from past wins or otherwise.

This game will be by invite only.

There is a cash prize ( a real one out of my own funds) of $250.

There will be a fan/player vote after the game is over for best player (not the winner) and they will win $50.

So yeah, I am willing to put up $300 to host a game that I hope is fun and challenging.

If you have ever won a Survivor MOFO game you are automatically assured a spot if you accept it.

Otherwise send me info on why you should be allowed to play.

If you want to send a video, post it here, It will go a long way into allowing your entry.

Maximum players will be 20 so do not hesitate in securing a spot.

As far as when this game will start:

It really depends, but think around late 2017/early 2018.

So the cash will be there for the winner to do as they wish and how they wish. If they want to donate to charity I am all for that, but they will not be begrudged if they take it. It is all about having fun in the game with a little something at stake.

Anyone that knows they will not be playing I will be welcoming help with challenge ideas and other things. Some of the challenges will take you off the forum to complete\compete, but most everything will revolve around movies and the forum.

I am working out a theme still but will post more info as it becomes available. If for any reason we do not get enough players (trying to think what the minimum will be) I will just postpone the game until a later date.

Taking ideas on a good starting date, but I do not think any earlier than November will work.

Thanks all for any interest and although it will be by invite only, anyone interested is welcome to ask questions or see if it may be something they want to try. I really would like to avoid alts if possible, but newbies are definitely welcome.

After looking at my schedule and keeping the holidays in mind I am considering a start date for this to be late January/early February 2018.

I really want to keep this "movie" related and would love some help with ideas.

Maybe "genre" related like team Musicals or Mayhem or horror.

but still plenty of time to plan.

As mentioned before ALL previous survivor winners (even one off games like speed and +1/-1 count, I do not know if there were others) have a spot if they claim it, otherwise I will use my own judgement. Unless you are totally new (and I may make exceptions by time the game starts) or just a douche on the boards then you will most likely be welcome to play. Thanks for those that have already responded, keep the info coming in as I want the game to cater to those playing and how they would like to see it handled. I always thought the game is about the players and the host should just guide and run challenges so all ideas are important. Thanks.

Oh and the survey is pretty short so it wont take much time to do.

So, thus far after getting 12 surveys it appears as if most people do not care when the game starts.

Only 2 had a preference and they were both in January.

The idea of isolation (going back to an island theme) and Sci FI and 80s all came up.

I personally was leaning towards a noir feel, but I see a way to combine a few things without it being too contrived.

Still feeling things out and if you have not already do so please do the survey.

Thanks, I had the idea of mini tribes of 3, but if attendees us on the low end I could do teams of 2. I definitely want some type of team work in the early part of the game at least

So based on everything so far with surveys and comments it looks like Early January will be the best time to start this. Most people said it doesn't matter so working with them is easy.

I am taking a few of the ideas given to me and kind of melding them together somewhat. I like the idea of taking things back to an island setting and I also love the idea of Sci-Fi/space theme. This is not set in concrete but right now it is how I am leaning. I need help naming a planet and the Island on that planet. Of course the isle will be full of dangers and the unexpected and probably certain death to all the red shirts.

I have a few surprises in store that I think will make the game interesting and fun to play.

I do not want to limit the ability to pick whatever character people want to play, but think Science fiction or space exploration or anything related. Like I said though if you want to be Mickey Mouse or The Blob its all up to you.

This will probably be survivor XI, but if someone holds a game before this one it will be whatever number is next.

All ideas still welcome and anyone not playing that would like to run a challenge please let me know. Hell even if you are playing and want to do a challenge let me know.

Haha wow... maybe when I'm bored one day I'll have to take a look. I do find it hilarious how serious these games are yet even with all my self-awareness about the nature of them I still end up getting way too emotionally involved myself. This cash game is going to be absolute chaos because of what's at stake.

The biggest drama had nothing to do with alts and it was probably the most vicious and surprising when you see who it involves: not me for once! :D

Only going to say this once. Unless "You" have some type of evidence other than just a feeling about someone being or having an alt please just refrain from talking about it. PMs are there if you need them OR you can even start your own thread and see how that goes.

I am not saying this because I think anyone's thoughts or suspicions or feelings are not valid, I just want to keep the alt drama out of the game as much as possible. Once the game starts then it will be a case by case basis, but for now as I/We try to hype up the game please just hold off or keep it to PMs. Now if you have some really good evidence then by all means bring it forward, Hell I have my own suspicions and have told people about them.

I just ask that you all please talk about it somewhere else or make sure it is valid before doing so while I ty to drum up interest in the game.

Very little is known about this planet, but what is known is that no one has ever landed there and returned. Do you have the courage to explore this distant strange and dangerous celestial body? All tests show that the atmosphere is almost an exact match of Earths so the atmosphere should be habitable and without any issues.

A few things to take note of:

noV yuQ chorgh is approximately 4 times the size of Earth.

The turquoise oceans and seas appear to always be rising and falling at a rate that makes NO land mass safe for long.

The landing zone will be on the isle of diễn đàn điện ảnh 4

This isle appears to be the most stable, but very few statistics are available.

Communications on all previous explorations has been lost within 5 minutes of landing.

The thing with Big Brother is - I'd be interested in trying it if people actually wanted to play. And I mean GOOD players. Big Brother always seems like such a fail game, except for the very first one I did. I would rather host another Survivor, but you're calling your game Survivor 11, so, I don't know. And then there's the thing of - do I really/SHOULD I really host another Survivor right now? I'm actually not against that idea, though. Doing another one. I think it would be interesting to try a different theme. But again - I'd want kickass players.

Or you could start your game earlier. Anything works with me.

Would like to see more sign ups for this - but I guess it is still a bit early.

I would like all of you playing or that plan on playing or even maybe thinking about it to start thinking of your character. I am sure some of you have already done that.

Since I want to shy away (as much as I can) from newer MOFOs (I want solid, invested, forum members) there is no reason we cannot start this (character development) soon. Maybe even give a little taste of game play for those that want to set the bar.

As your host, I too will be creating a game character.

I think if you announce a date, the interest may spike. At the least, the already interested players will get a bit excited and start batting their eyelashes for others to join. :lol:

Sorry everyone, things went a bit crazy on here with pepole leaving and such as the start date got closer and then I had to have surgery. I am in the middle of going back and forth to the V.A. about 2 to 3 times a week right now so the soonest I could do anything would be in about 2 to 3 weeks. If there is real interest please let me know and if we can get enough quality players I would be glad to host. If not then I am totally cool with someone else hosting and I can do this sometime down the line.
