They're in a sense my fave band, musically, lyrically, especially instrumentally (I think Mark's an underrated and pretty fantastic and unique guitarist)
My fave of theirs...

On an off and on note, this song appears in the "break up" scene between Debra Winger and Richard Gere in one of my fave movies, An Officer and a Gentleman.

I love me some Dire Straits. As a matter of fact I was just listening to this live version of "Money for Nothing" maybe an hour ago...

"Sultans of Swing" is one of my favorite songs... I remember as a kid listening to "Making Movies" on cassette in the car... "Tunnel of Love" "Romeo and Juliet" "Hand in Hand"

Money for Nothing brings back the most vivid memories as a kid.
Ooh yeah. What ever happened to them?

I just bought Making movies as a vinyl re-issue. :)
In which place would you put this on the best guitar solos list?
