As some of you may have noticed, we topped 100,000 total posts not long ago. Took us almost exactly three years to do so, in part because the first year, if my estimates are correct, produced only a tenth of that total.
This milestone, however, isn't half as exciting as the fact that July was far and away the best of the 37 months in which the site has existed. It saw a new record for posts (5,716), a new record for threads (269), and a new record for users (234). What's more, both the post and thread records broke the mark set just the month before (June). In other words: the direction the site is heading in is even more encouraging than the ground it's already covered.
Alas, the Shoutbox (which has been around a little over 19 months) didn't join in the record-breaking festivities, as it laid claim to just 186 shouts in July. The record of 3,766 (set in March of 2002 thanks to various Oscar-related chatter, among other things) is over 20 times larger.
Finally, while I haven't yet totaled the numbers, I'm 99% sure that July set traffic records as well, for both unique visitors and pageviews.
In a word: yay.
