Anyone else sick of seeing It's time to start a terrorist attack thread and make it sticky (https://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?p=1685141#post1685141) ?
It seems every time I log into MoFo, I see that thread in the Now Playing section and the same arguing over and over, again.
Is it time for it to go? Vote
Pretty simple solution. Dont look at it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

None of the above.
I don't like the thread but people have every right to create and post in it.
I'd prefer it not to be made sticky, though.
i started it because multiple threads were being started on terrorism , with each terrorist attack getting a new thread . that way , the whole 'intermission--miscellaneous chat' section was in danger of getting flooded with terrorist threads . so i started it with the intention of keeping all terror attacks on one thread .
all these days it was going all right , with each terror attack being recorded and little bit of discussion over it . now suddenly these IMDB people have come and the thread has become a battlefield . they take every statement seriously and fight over every thing . especially dani8 is a internet addict and is all over the forum all the time . but naturally she can hardly ignore such a thread it which she has such polarising views .

Yup, same here, no to sticky.
I don't see this type of news going away anytime soon. I have more terror related stories on any and every homepage I view, than movie trailer, actor and Kardashian related stories combined.

Wow that's nice, ash. Happy easter.
I agree with not making it a sticky.

Perhaps Yoda could create an "ignore thread" feature?

My major problem with it is:
MoFo is a movie board and it seems like the Terrorist thread is highly visible in the Now Playing section and acts like a negative commercial for MoFo...Remember it's not just us members who see MoFo, but all of the world. as it's on the internet.
I think that thread being so visible, and so active, and so inflammatory causes secondary problems in other threads.

What does that have to do with this thread? Oh yeh, ofcourse - zero. Thanks for your ongoing contribution, Max. The misogynistic cyber bullying of a few makes me think I'm back on imdb. Very comforting.👍
I'm simply marvelling at the achievement.
The whole of social media is covering the crappy state of the world right now nd venting. Why would visitors to mofo find it any different. If the come here to check out movie chat why would they automatically be drawn to a thread on terrorism. I dont get the logic there. Better for people to discuss it here than get bombarded with the absolute hateful toxic garbage on fb.

We use to have more casual & informative discussions (both pro & con) about the subject. But lately it's turned into a shouting match, that is not good for the health of MoFo.
I'm not blaming you for creating it, I'm not blaming anyone, but threads can take on a life of their own, and sometimes those threads get out of hand, then they are locked.

I'm on board with the idea of having just one terrorist attack thread rather than multiple. But I agree that it has taken a turn recently for the argumentative and negative.
As for it appearing in now playing - I may be wrong, but I thought at one time only movie related topics appeared there, not ones from off-topic areas.
Yoda made the Survivor threads only appear once on Now Playing and not over and over again because they were being posted in so much. Maybe he could do that since that's Citizens problem with it. Personally i don't think it is necessary but it wouldn't bother me either way.
Where is the change nothing I'm indifferent option? You are like one of those telephone survey takers. Trump: good, great, or greatest? ;)
Make it sticky in the Home Theatre Questions subforum then noone will ever use it.

I so don't see it that way, personally. If there's drama, I might be involved, and that thread has never been on my radar.
You're just bothered by the "terrorist" aspect of it. Well, I'm sorry, but it's 2017 and terrorists are out there, honey.
Oh well, he managed to achieve wiping the other thread off the now playing list. That's pretty stealthy. Gold stars for that .

Never gone into that thread... and I never will.
Call me cruel, but I have little to no empathy for anything or anyone, let alone some bomber that hasn't affected me directly.
"MoFo" is Movie Forums... I come on here for escape... not to constantly see cack about politics and junk.
I hate all these political threads and crap about world issues. If I wanted to read such media panic mongering, I would plug the television back in and log off MoFo.

Just reading some of the post in this thread, has made it clear that there is an animosity developing among some of the contributors to the Terrorist thread. It's easy to see the personal dislike that has developed from that thread, and that dislike then spills out onto MoFo, just like it has here.
These are all good people, but threads like the Terrorist thread cause problems when then become a 'pass time' for continual arguing.

Meh, animosity aside... what I'm saying is I personally don't give 2 sh*ts about some child's body that washed up ashore that becomes a trend on Facebook.
That might be cruel, heartless what ever... but the simple fact is... MoFo has been becoming PoFo (Political Forums) for a while.
About time it stopped tbh.

Rodent, I was not talking about you:) (just in case you thought my last post was for you, it wasn't)
Having the one thread is definitely better than lots of new ones, given how frequently these things occur.
That said, maybe it's time to exclude all Intermission threads from Now Playing.

Keep everything in "now playing" and just ignore the threads that you don't want to be a part of.
Simple.

This is pretty much it.
If you feel so passionately about something, stay totally away, or get totally involved.
I stay away from the politics threads like a plague but given the subject of this thread, I had to comment.

I agree. Keep everything as is and if anyone has an issue with a thread, just don't click it. It really is that simple.
I get where CR is coming from, though. There have been a lot of petty arguments lately and they mostly occur in the political threads. Makes people forget how to interact in a civil manner for some reason.

I dont know anything about baseball never having seen an entire game, so leave the mofo baseball fans to their fun discussing it. It's not difficult, is it.
I've removed a few posts from this thread, as well. Please discuss the topic, not the personalities (or worse, your speculation about their personalities) of the people commenting on it.

Simple. That's not really my major concern. Yes, I used that as my title, but I can easily avoid the thread myself. I find the topic boring these days, and I'm not possessed to look at it, nor do I have some urge to do so. My concern is it's turned into a continual fighting zone, which seems more like a facebook thread than a movie forum thread. I agree with Rodent, lets keep focused on movies.
Yup lol. Everytime I go to the main frame I see that ugly title. Sorry but it's an eye sore..

I don't really care about it all, either, but as long as you're not participating in the threads, you're not seeing it. Mind your own business and leave your "escaping" to yourself. Other people have different views and feelings and wants. We are not here to cater to your needs.
Any new posts that are essentially about things IN the thread in question are just going to be moved there. Just FYI.

Anyone else sick of seeing the 'Anyone else sick of seeing The Terrorist Attack Thread???'???
I think there's little left to say about this. Everyone's gotten their opinion in, seems best to close it.
I'll strongly consider excluding all Intermission threads from Now Playing, in part becsuse I was considering it anyway.
