View Full Version : Musicians at Home
I am not sure if there is a similar thread already on the forum, but I wanted to try and start a collection for recording enthusiasts/musicians.
Drop your work here so we can listen.
I'll start it off with my experimental band. I'm on the bass. Improvised jamming cut together.

I liked the descending bass stuff... and then again when it breaks down. In the other thread, you mentioned a loop state (I don't know what that is)... I've been wanting to make a website to sell drum beats, etc.., but I think it would get lost in the world wide web -- I haven't made a website in many years.
I use a Tascam DP-01FX w/ CD burner so I don't ever have to use a computer. I have a condenser mic, and a few junk ones I hardly ever use, unless I'm experimenting. I have 8 tracks..
I didn't want this post to get buried, so I'll bump it up with a few videos :)

I like this thread already.
Good stuff
I had a show last month, but didn't record it.

Oh, I missed your question. A Loop Station by Boss. It allows you to endlessly overdub any instrument input into it. It gives you a click you set by tap function (bpm etc), and you can monitor via haedphones so it doesn't interfere with what you create. Has it's own separate volume knob. I've come up with some ungodly ***** using a Loop Station.

Oh, I'm very primitive. I use a mic, or plug it direct to the Tascam w/ a CD burner so I never have to depend on a computer. I don't even like using a keyboard!

You def wouldn't need a computer to use a loop station. It's basically a stream of consciousness band in back of you that you create. Very valuable tool for live performance, if you're into that sort of thing.

Yeeee. I'm the opposite of Matt (mad respect still) when it comes to making music. I love my computer and consider it my instrument. When it comes to traditional instruments, I'm sufficient at guitar but not great at most instruments in general. It's something I am trying to work on, because I love that kind of "organic" music as much as I love electronic music and whatnot (the bongos of a Santana make me as happy as the beep boops of an Autechre). I'm pretty open when it comes to music and like to experiment with most genres, partly because I don't like limitations and don't think musicians should be told what they can and can't do - it stunts musical evolution on a personal and cultural level.
I don't consider myself a great musician yet, though. Still working on it.

My trusty old Sans-Amp. Next video will have some effort put into it. I'll even show the pedal(s) and different angles. I wanna demo my freeze pedal and Holy Grail reverb.
