Hello Minion. What are you going to do with your life?

Hello Minion…

Oooo… wait… I want a new avatar… got any ideas…

MyRobotSuit

Hmm... I'm not sure yet... that's why I need suggestions... I did find one pic I like but it has brown eyes and I want green... ;)

Well Mini is the screen-manipulating...wait...only queen rhymes with that.

Ohhh Mini. Have u just finished uni then or something? I'll be your shoddy drummer if you like (you can trust me - I'm definitely shoddy. You can amuse and abuse your inner muse by listening to some tortured clips on my website if you like - www.hippywaster.scriptmania.com - the chick-pea special page. It's truly abysmal [but it's nice to think a lost taiwanese person could listen to it by chance])

Personally I'd like to chat about the rattled cat in my trebor-mint flat (hah, see, yous yankies don't have the unidentifiable-candy market cornered just yet ;))

And by the way - what the hell is chewing gum made of anyway? All they say on the a very convincing amalgam website is that it's made of both organic and artificial matter. But they slip it in so smoothly you have to squint like a baffled tree-mink before concluding "Whaaaat?"

plastic cow's brain anyone?

MyRobotSuit
07-18-03, 11:44 PM
Gogot. You are happily insane. Your site grooves something - I just don't know what. The drums aren't bad actually, I think it's the 'burn in hell' type lyric that may be deceptive. I like some of your pics by the way. Without your permission I intend to copy and save each one ;)

avatars...I like landscapes, I really do. This is a pic i made from messing about with a landsape pic. But you're after a picture of a female?

Golgot
07-18-03, 11:48 PM
what about a landscape with green eyes?

Heheheh, cheers for the peruse Min. I put the pics on when a caff computer glitched and gave me free access. Man i was there all night. The rest is caffeine inspired meanderings from my sojourn in spain. Oh, and my most peculiar friend was in a most contrary "burning" mood that day - tho i refused to descend into thrash-metal.

Do you care if I send you an e-mail with the pics I found and see what you think...

Golgot I can't believe you are still up!

Oh I'm an insomnia-aramist as well. And I'm drunk. And I'm not trying to sleep. And..erm, i've got lots of things to do tomorrow i can't be bothered to do...like water distant plants. And things i do want to do, like meet crazy germans in the park, but that's in the afternoon. And hell, I've been working like a dog with a high-powered job and a kennel-audit coming up - so i din't go out coz i knew i'd get irritable at not being able to hear above the music n stuff - so i'm here, shedding near-tears over the dead doctor Kelly, and attempting to grow a good internet-belly. And..**** you're right, it's getting light!

MyRobotSuit
07-19-03, 12:09 AM
Go ahead Cait, I'll take a look!

I can't sleep. I watched a bad film before and it made me angry so I can't stop mind-buzzing.

Golgot
07-19-03, 12:17 AM
Mmm, the mind buzz. That's what leads to tomorrow's fuzz. There were some mad little things on tonight tho - a strange n.irish thing about growing old and not doing a thing - Casanova roving the plazas, exploring his venitian love-arting. And the lowly-rated Bonfire of the vanities - a visual tease for the book i should read. Was this the movie that has you so displeased?

Ooo, it's even lighter now. Why are we so inefficient with our sunlight? I'm off to bottle some for the winter.

Oh wait, i don't chew gum either Caity-lyn, but i think that's just laziness. If it was whale blubber I'd imagine it would all be made in Japan or something (for research purposes of course). Probably something a bit cheaper and more available - that's what worries me ;)

MyRobotSuit
07-19-03, 12:29 AM
No it wasn't Bonfire of the Vanities although I did manage to watch the end of it - i don't mind that film. It was 'Muder by Numbers', it was very dull and unemotional. I felt like a robot watching it. Too many loose ends and dodgy dialogue and 'serious' acting from sandra bullock - come on.

Yes a strange night with all the David Kelly mysteries a flowin'. I will read the rest of the thread you started by the way - good points, I urge people to read it.

Right I'm off to sleep, my girlfriend will kill me if I don't get up the time as her to go out (aprox 4 hours - oh well).

goodnight, I'll use this thread again!

:)

... am I missing something? MinionTV can take a picture of a person and make it look like a landscape? As in, Angela Lansbury can be metamorphed into the Sahara desert if MinionTV wanted it done that way?

Golgot

The Minion can acheive all. He has several slave-pixies and an alternate dimension which he bought in an old-car-boot sale. Beware, lest he turn you into a small hillock in Arizona!

glad you liked the green addition cait. What's wrong with the avatar changing? A few others are having the same trouble apparantly....

Anyway. It's 12.50am and i'm listening to joy division snd the smiths, groovy. What's everyody up to then?

07-20-03, 09:11 PM
I did yard work all day. My back is getting dark-dark-dark from trying to keep up with the weeds.

After the weeds, I went skinny-dipping with my dogs in my daughters' wading pool.

Came in, took a shower, and now I'm browsing the MoFos.

Later, I have some errands to run in town, including a trip to the video store to pick up Dressed to Kill, so I can start tomorrow's thread for the movie club.

After watching the movie, I'll probably go to bed.

Yesterday I worked for the first time in three weeks - yes, I had some vacation. The first week in july I went to Cologne, Germany, and the Summerjam festival, a reggae music festival. It was great. Then I kicked back home in Lund for a while before I spent the last week in my parents' summer house on the east coast here in southern Sweden.

Here's a pic of the beach I hang on when I'm out there:

http://w1.414.telia.com/~u41402833/hanobukten/img_hanobukten/stenshuvud.gif

It is really great out there.

Now I'm soon off to work. See you later!!

Ah pidd, Liverpool is on the coast but the beaches (if any) aren't nice. There are some nice docks but that's about it.

Today I am going to do something, maybe make a cv (will not take long). Some music making, reading, and messing about. My graduation is tomorrow so i'm stressing out. It's the beginning of my life in the real world and I don't like it.

Wooooooooooooo scary.

Anyway, what you all up to today?

Piddzilla
07-23-03, 06:46 AM
Today I am going to a staff meeting at work, which usually is a real drag. The meetings always last forever and we always talk about things that really doesn't concern the job. It's me and like four or five women in their forties and the last time they ended up talking about menstruation cycles and menopause!!! Can you believe that?? I was like... "Maaaaaaaaaaan.... Can I go now?? Can I?? Pleeeaaase?!?!?". :bawling: Fortunately today most of them are on vacation so there will be mostly substitutes on this meeting.

Then I am going to my parents house to water the flowers. That will take forever since my mom is a plant and garden freak. I will also take the opportunity to record a mix tape for my mom when I have their tape recorder at disposal (mine is broken :( ). She wants one side with mellow melodious nice music  and one side with reggae :D . She listens to the tapes in the car and right now she only has one with Norah Jones on one side and Eva Cassidy on the other, so she's getting kind of tired of it. Thought I'd help her out a little... :yup:

Then I don't know what else... Maybe I'll go running for a while too. I should clean my apartment and go down to the laundry room. But nah... it's too hot. :D

Have a nice day, y'all!

Hi Minion… :) I’m being very lazy today and just doing what I want to… I went swimming for a while and walked the doggies… and now I'm playing on the net and trying to decide what I want to eat tonight… :D

How about you... what have you been up to today?

Golgot

Hello all. Say hello. what are you up to on this glorious night or day?

Gah, Minion, I'm off to bed, don't you dare distract me!

Today i've been making it difficult for Caity-lyn to choose her dinner ;)

I wrote you an amusing story about an irish nurse, a meeting and a woman who had trouble sitting down, but the net ate it. Heigh ho.

Hellooooooooo there cait, I've been lazing about with my girlfriend today. Shopped for some food etc and spent the day reading and messing about. I have no idea what to do tomorrow. I have to do something constructive - aggggggghhhhhhhhhh!

EDIT - Hello golgot m'pal, nice to see you're up for no change. ;)

Sounds nice Minion… If I had a boyfriend to laze around with, I would have liked to do that today but alas, I’m a single lassy… and now Golgot has me thinking about food… which made me hungry… but now I want to know what’s in it so I’m not sure if I can even eat anything tonight… :nope:

Have you heard Interpol? You seem to be a fan of post punk British music. Their album Turn on the Bright Lights is by far the greatest album of 2002.

I still can't come up with a decision on Joy Division, I enjoy their music, but something is holding me back from loving it. Maybe it's just too depressing for me, I'll keep listening though.

Well don't huff and puff - get on with your stuff! You've got music to play, the right to be fey, a will and a way beyond the dismay. Out and at 'em young man! Or before you know it it'll be bed-pan time. Erm, oops, did that rhyme?

Argh, i've just bought a book about prime numbers! Why did i do that? I don't even like maths! Damn you amazon and your flirtacious easy-access. Somebody save me from myself!

This looks like a job for....SuperMini. A touch-sensitive car that giggles when entered ? A very large small man? A can of miniature mighty mice and assorted crickets?

We'll have to wait until he struggles through the multi-dimensional window that is his principal portal to this world. Honestly minion [notice how i use your full name when admonishing you], why not use the door like a normal person?

MyRobotSuit

Book on Prime Numbers? That sounds interesting!

I've just bought The State We're In by Will Hutton and I'm not into politics whatsoever!

Golgot
08-06-03, 06:42 PM
Argh! You're caught in the vortex too!

it's called The Music of Primes. I'm always fascinated by the contradictions of the rigidities of physics/maths etc being applied to the real word. But i never let myself really sink into their rigidities of it at school coz it felt like i'd have to sacrifice other weirder/harder-to-keep-hold of perspectives knocking round my head.

I just got intrigued by a review which said:

-it was in novel form with lots of real-life anecdotes (and the bloke believes in the potential for everyone to understand these things - if laid out right ;))
-it's about the search for symmetry (tho the world is "asymmetrical" in many ways i.e. even molecule arrangements can be "left-handed" or "right-handed" as it were.)
-and it looks like it might help me get a grasp on how other hard-core scientists think (i've got some trippy biology/neurology mates who keep me informed on other fronts  )

Other silly purchases:

-Junk Food Nation (so good. Advertising, workforce/welfare degredation thru fordism etc. Human flesh in the food. Amazingly researched)
-The Blind Watchmaker (darwinism fodder to clobber the god-squad :))
-The Mystery of Capital (convincing argument against capitalism apparently)
-No Logo (damn amazon - got tempted by the examples of people getting ****ed over by de-humanising fordism etc again)

that should fill up my next five holidays! (arrgh, i really don't want to push for a year contract at my job tho i really should. I'm back at home at the mo, but that can't last forever - but London's so friggin expensive!) Very tempted to go off and live in a little "attico" roof-top thing in spain again and ponce around drinking coffee and cycling to private lessons. S'all nice but it doesn't quite pay the rent. Ach well, the joys of employment ;)) (oops, sorry, it's all cool really. Well, a change is as good as....erm, an armchair that follows you around)

It's a great thing playing music but getting good at it is frustrating! Saving for equipment is a beast though, we can't gig until we have a pa.

Yeah, the original stuff will happen again, just takes a while to get interested again.

Get back on that kit and practice hard! It's worth it.

Heheheh. Too true - but it makes me think of a damn-fool of a singer/'manager' in an old Uni band who bought a mixing desk at a knock down price. Only prob was - only 2 of the tracks worked (and one of them intermitantly). The last gig he organised we literally had some earnings (yay) counted into our hands, then counted back out again to the 'Ents' persons he'd 'liased' with - all coz she'd ****ed up and double booked the monitors - we paid for back-up monitors that were supposed to be part of the deal. Bah. Still, had a laugh - and got away with breaking the snare skin on the hired kit during an encore. Guess i shouldn't complain ;).

Still kinda miffed that i helped that guy live out his sub-prod-rock dreams tho  ;).

Ay, it so is. Just ain't got many opportunities to jam at the mo. A gaggle of hungover neighbours and mates spread out all over the place just ain't conducive ;). I'd love to at least get some jams going again tho.

I've just this minute joined a movie rental site. I haven't put any effort into watching any decent films in quite a while. In fact, the last film I saw was Just Like Heavejn starring Reese Witherspoon so I may need some help.

I've decided to delve into the work of Akira Kurosawa since I'm totally blind to any of his films. Is it wise to start with the Seven Samurai?

Also on my list is the Conversation starring Gene Hackan. I've seen this at stores and am always drawn to it.

A Clint Eastwood fest may be included too :D

Anyone got any recommendations?

...Kurosawa...

To my shame, i've never seen Seven Samurai.

But... you can't go wrong with Yojimbo for crafty action (and eccentric music :)). The Hidden Fortress is a good fun escapade (and is one of the inspirations for Star Wars no less ;)). Ran is a classy transferal of the King Lear story and is well worth a watch - the 'wondering king' scenes are particularly good.

Rashomon got a big thumbs up from the Mofo 'movie club' as well recently. That's def one of my next-sees. (Oh yeah, along with those Seven Samuarai o'course)

Ah great! I've added all those titles to my queue. Strange thing, although I've set my priority to receiving the Kurosawa titles, I've instead been sent Layer Cake and I Heart Huckabees which is a bit annoying.
