Now you might be saying "TONGO you loon! We havent even had the draft yet!"
Well I say "There there mon frere! We all know Yoda has the #1 draft position. He's said hes picking Mike Trout, and hes said that hes putting him on the Block. So if people wish to open negotiations for Mike Trout, offering draft position picks yet undecided (something weve never done before), then this is the platform to do it in."
I imagine Chris would tell the person who to pick, and then get those players by switching them from the two rosters. Brave new world.
Plus I wanted to make sure I made the Trading Block thread first like always :D
Draft is over. El bumpo' :)
Anyone interested in a strong 3Baseman, I have Kyle Seager on the Block.

Jean Sergura, Jay Bruce and Jonathan Villar. I am looking for starting pitching. I will package with one of my pitchers if I have to.
Jackie Bradley Jr. up for trade!
Trade sent to Tongs!
Sorry man, Nelson Cruz cannot be had. I wouldnt/couldnt move any of my power guys unless was getting some power in return.
Have a counter-offer in mind?
Have a counter-offer in mind?
Nah, not really. I am happy with who I have, may just enough power now, and not too much. Am willing to move Kyle Seager for another power guy though since Ive got Longo.
Just for the record, Yoda traded me Adrian Gonzalez, Giancarlo Stanton, Felix Hernandez, and Greg Holland
for my 3 players Anthony Rizzo, Dallas Keuchel, and Seung Hwang Oh.
Very tempted there to just say Oh. Anyway its a sizable 4 for 3, and deserved mention in the Trading Block.
I am hoping Oh becomes a big NO, and my buddy Trevor heads into the ninth. ;)

Oh. Snap.

Still have a floater trade in the works. Not sure if it will 100% come together, but it seems as if it's close.
Pulled the trigger on a big deal. Felt crazy if I didn't take the depth Tongo offered up.
That trade is a bit lopsided, yea?
Can't even guess which way it's supposed to be lopsided, honestly. TONGO gets the best player, sean gets a lot of depth.
I'm guessing this turns on whether or not you think Greinke still had #1 starter upside, or if Pedroia can duplicate his surprising bounceback last year. I'm pretty skeptical of both, and I'm guessing both TONGO and sean are, too.
I ultimately decided the depth was too much to give up but I was honestly on the fence. Even three for ones are tough when you are taking into consideration who those additional players will be replacing on your team. Sitting today I feel better about my power numbers and Ks but I'm not sure that off sets the hit I will take in SB and OBP.
Im sure Stanton was what made Sean pull the trigger. If I offered anyone else other than him in that three player offer, he would have said no.
Between Ellsbury and Altuve Im hoping to earn some SB points now.

I need a top tier pitcher. I am open to trading anyone besides Arenado. I would like to package a offensive player and a closer.
Good job on that trade Sean ;) Seriously.

Cabrera, Stanton, or Encarnacion up for grabs.
Wow than Trading Block thread has alot less pages to it than normal. I havent been trading or moving like usual this season, and thats probably the reason.
Just made one with Yoda though, giving him Altuve & Hand for Murphy & Berrios. My strategy is to forsake Stolen Bases as a category outright. When I dominated in 2015, I didnt have any basestealers, but when I started chasing SBs & Ks, I fell apart. Mikey didnt have any basestealers in 2014 when he won the league. Heck I was last place with Altuve in SBs anyway, so theres nothing to lose.
I know this all sounds mathematically unsound, but baseball is weird;).

Seriously? Wow
The trade makes much less sense when we see what he originally traded to get Altuve in the first place.
Sean definitely won that deal, but largely because Greinke rebounded very strongly after it went through. Still pretty surprised about that. Stanton, did, too, but that was more predictable.

Got Greinke but gave up Stroman and Andrus. I had depth to play with on offense so it seemed worth a gamble.
Yeah, pretty standard need-for-need deal, I can dig it.
Andrus is pretty regularly underrated, probably because his value can fluctuate a lot with batted ball luck, or exactly how often he runs. But I'd say people are, in aggregate, usually too low on him.

Just wanted an ace, since Cole hasn't been that guy for me.
I don't know if Andrus can keep it up. Hopefully it works out for both of us. Andrus has been fabulous.

Same thing as always for me: I have pitching to deal and I'm looking for HR + RBI, primarily. I'm open to moving any of my pitchers, but it would take a lot to get Sale (like a top 10 hitter or a big package). Robbie Ray, Ivan Nova, and Jon Lester are my next best guys and I have some upside guys in Nola, Hill, and Arrieta.

Boom! Sale for Cano. Done and Dunn! Honestly don't mind giving up Davis because I rarely started him.

Good trade and good luck! I really didn't want to part with Sale, but I've had to come to terms with the fact that I need to make up ground in HR and RBI. I feel good about the rest of my staff, so hopefully this will help me make some gains in the standings. Cano is solidly good across the board and I think Chris Davis will be better when he comes back (it looks like the O's are starting to hit better as a team too).

Really weird thing happened: My trade with The Empire didn't go through because doing so would have put him over the roster limit. He had Holliday on the DL when he accepted it and Nova was healthy, but he currently has Holliday in a regular, non-DL spot. Really weird that the site didn't anticipate that and either make him take him off of the DL or cut a player. I re-sent the offer, so hopefully we can resolve it. But take note of that if any of you guys try to trade a DL'd player for a healthy one.
In the past, when some kind of honest mistake like this has happened, I've volunteered to push the trade through if both parties consent. If Fabulous can drop me a quick line to this effect I can try to have it done right away, or at least for tomorrow's games so you don't have to wait the full period again.

I'll make another deal if anyone's down
Fabulous
07-16-17, 12:50 PM
Sorry about that. I took him off the DL but it must have been too late.
I can't actually push the trade through while it's pending again, unfortunately, so I guess it'll just have to go through tomorrow.

No problem. I think it's 99% on the site for allowing that to happen and letting it fail. There's probably not a need for it to be rushed anyway; the new trade will process tomorrow ahead of Nova's start against the Brewers. I'm fine with missing Holliday's game today.
