I am doing a thread NedStark09 style. Except with hip hop. As always i want to say apologies for any song that may have any Kanye West in them. Just because like a song does not mean have any beliefs of the lyrics. This is no hall of fame this is just my favorite 100 hip hop songs but i do worry that a few of my songs may not seem hip hop but more like country or pop. I assure you if it does waver then my apology. The 90s and 80s kinda had a weird line where allot of songs won hip hop grammys.

I just saw him on his Saint Pablo tour last year, it was fantastic.

I might even own three Kanye West t-shirts. And when I say might I mean I definitely own three Kanye West t-shirts.

Looking forward to this list!

Sadly, I've never been able to see him live.

I did get to see RTJ live right before RTJ2 dropped though. It was a free concert in Tulsa, in a small place. Mike was out in the lobby of the place talking to people while the openers were on. I got my picture with him. I was surprised how much energy they had for such a small venue, but they put on a great show anyway.

I've seen that picture. I can't tell who is fatter - you, Killer Mike, or me looking at the picture.

For me hip-hop only makes sense if it's got Japanese female vocals.

That sounds great. I want to see them when they come to Illinois soon, or somewhere else close by, but it probably won't happen, sadly. I wish I went to more shows. The only other big one I went to was with Kendrick, Schoolboy, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock years back, that was pretty damn cool.

I appricate the honor but Kanye is a waste of space and his whole **** about his feud with Swift had nothing to do with loving Beyounce Music. He is a thug bully and Kim deserves all that lovely mess he will give her during the divorce.

Originally it was quite hard to get hold of Hip-Hop here in the UK and I was originally introduced to it via mix tapes that were originally called Street Sounds Electro which would later be changed in name to Hip-Hop. (God I am showing my age now lol)

I can only speak for myself and I have to confess after seeing the Kanye West songs listed on here I skipped to the end post to make own contribution and Kate Bush Cloudbusting was right above it as I was typing away and I though that was not Hip-Hop. So out of curiosity why are you putting Art Rock and Country into you best Hip-Hop list?

ShopkeeperTriumph
02-20-17, 10:14 AM
Monster is one of the best from MBDTF. It's one of the songs where I think "man, Minaj is actually pretty damn good when she wants to be." Black Skinhead is probably my favorite from Yeezus, although that one is my least favorite West album, even though I still like it. Robocop is also a personal favorite, I'd rank 808s a lot higher than a lot of people, it was my favorite West album for a while, although College Dropout would probably take that spot nowadays. All of those I would rank a lot higher if I made a list. Drunk and Hot Girls is one of his lesser songs, but it's one of his funniest. "Ah da da da da. That's how the **** you sound you drunk and hot girl" is a classic line.

Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst is fantastic in an album filled with nothing but instant classics. I always debate on whether I like that album, or To Pimp a Butterfly more, but I think I'd choose the first one if I had to, despite the second being a lot more ambitious, and diverse. But, it's a tough one. I have no idea why I haven't listened to more Death Grips, The Money Store is the only full album I've listened to, and it's great.

Looks like there are not enough good hip-hop songs to fill a 110 titles list, so you have to fill it with different genres.

Okay, that's enough hip-hop bashing for one day, so let me just post my favourite American hip-hop song ever:

In my humble opinion the best Hip hop and R and B or Pop music was during the 80s and 90s and stopped being any good really by 2005. Maybe its me being old enough to remember that hip hop was more fun in the old days and now seems too be a venu for some too spill there hate.

Is this Darude-Sandstorm (m.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ)? If so, not as good as you make it out to be. Also, pretty sure it's not hip hop. It's art rock if anything.
