I think I like American sci fi on average because of its more "non-ethnic" character compared to very American stuff like The Wire.

Do you mean there seems to be less of an ethnic divide in American sci-fi as opposed to contemporary drama? For instance I don't remember in Babylon 5 there being that kind of division aside from with the various alien races.

I'm oblivious – the list seemed kosher. I mean, Babylon 5 was top :p.

List was ok. The "p.s." note at the end was what to watch out for.

"Monk" and "Castle" are both in my all-time top ten TV shows, (maybe even in my top five), and I haven't watched "Burn Notice", but it's one of my Mom's all-time favorite shows.

I meant that since I am not American so I do not identify with characteristically American settings.
And also I find it easier to identify with the writing and characterization of American shows that do not feature elements that are very characteristic of American culture but instead depict an imaginary culture such as science fiction shows like Babylon 5.
It's the same logic of people who also claim that the international popularity of anime such as Cowboy Bebop or Re-Zero is partly due to the fact much of it is set in fantasy or sci fi worlds and so doesn't feel characteristically Japanese.

Anti-American scum. Get off this site!
