I'm an avid reader but one thing I haven't fully delved into are graphic novels. I have no idea why, but I've decided to change that now. Why the change? I recently came across some Mangas by Junji Ito that showed me just what I've been missing and I'm seriously kicking myself for it. So I ask any one of you to help guide me in the right direction for some really, truly, gloriously horrifying graphic novels.

Don't know much about Horror, but the first two Trade Paperback volumes of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen are very good. The art takes a bit of getting used to but grows on you quickly. And the mixing of characters from Victorian era literature just works so well. It's got some horror elements since it includes the Invisible Man, characters from Dracula (but not the Count himself), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the second volume features a rather horrific revisiting of H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds."

And, of course there is The Walking Dead series - probably most easily read and acquired these days in TPB (Trade Paperback) form.

I'm kind of in the same boat, MonnoM. Back when I read Uzumaki, I wanted more stuff like that, and all there was was more Ito! My friend back then did lend me Black Hole by Charles Burns, which at times reminded me of Uzumaki and was good in it's own right too. Aside from that, though, I'd like to find more as well.

Alan Moore is easily my favorite comic book writer. He has a painstaking meticulous process when writing a comic, and actually draws the panel or page exactly how he wants them positioned.

If he could really draw, he'd be the James Cameron of comic books. :yup:
