View Full Version : Final message
Hi, folks, I did say that I was quitting the forum for good, and, of course, my words generated their fair share of skepticism. I do feel extremely disgusted with the petty-mindedness and blind hatred I have encountered in here of late from several quarters, not excluding from the forum admin, and before I do leave (a decision that I came to primarily on the consideration that I do not fit into the age group that dominates this message board, and cannot relate to their inclinations), I have a final quote to post from a book that I have recently started reading, as well as a couple of interesting movie recommendations.
First the movie recommendations: do check out the excellent movies Jesus of Montreal (French, with English subtitles), which is a story about the cast of a modern Passion Play in Montreal, Canada--a great satire of modern life, as well as a moving interpretation of the Passion of Christ. Also, check out the movie The Young Lions with Marlon Brando and Dean Martin on opposite sides of the fence in WWII.
Finally, this quote from the preface of a book I have recently started reading, entitled The True Believer by Eric Hoffer:
Though there are obvious differences between the fanatical Christian, the fanatical Mohammedan, the fanatical nationalist, the fanatical Communist and the fanatical Nazi, it is yet true that the fanaticism which animates them may be viewed and treated as one. The same is true of the force which drives them on to expansion and world dominion. There is a certain uniformity in all types of dedication, of faith, of pursuit of power, of unity and of self-sacrifice. There are vast differences in the contents of holy causes and doctrines, but a certain uniformity in the factors which make them effective. He who, like Pascal, finds precise reasons for the effectiveness of Christian doctrine has also found the reasons for the effectiveness of Communist, Nazi and nationalist doctrine. However different the holy causes people die for, they perhaps die basically for the same thing.
On that note, I wish you all goodbye!

I don't get it.
Stick around, Dj. Everything will be ok.
Okay, okay, I admit it! The real reason I've left the forum is that I'm no intellectual, and you guys are way too clever for me! Besides, I've been wasting way too much time in here over pointless arguments that have been going nowhere.
Adios again!

Just in case you drop by......
Django, djangolini, djangito....honestly. I never talked to/with you on these threads man, but i read some of the history, and...your first post demonstrates why you should stay (tho of course fundamentalism is fundamentally daft - if psychologically attractive)
Your silly age excuse seems to be nothing more than that, a way to bow out "gracefully". Political debate and movie analysis are pretty much open to all comers, age only being an excuse if the naughty ninyo is being a bit unwordly (and who isn't at the end of the day. I ain't seen nearly the beginnings yet of what i'd like to know/experience, and i'm a mid-way 27 years old kind of age. Oh damn, wrong thread)
I've definitely seen some full on offensive stuff pointed your way, and one way or another the majority of the locals have lined up against you, so i understand you ducking out (if you have ;))
Come back and talk movies at least.
This voodoo mystic here'll respond to you, if you don't get toooooo florid (damn i'm such a hypocrite. Oh ****, wrong thread again)

When I first got to the forums I thought people were giving you a hard time because of your left wing Political views (Which he many similarities in) but now I realise they were giving you a hard time because your a dick head. As blibblobblib said Good Riddance
PS. Yoda now hes gone is there any way you can go and delete his avitar..... F*** its annoying
It's outrageously silly to reproduce every other post, but if you insist on tying the two threads together, do so with a link.
Okay, Yoda, if you insist (I was only attempting to clarify my statements above by quoting some posts I made to another thread):
Here are the links to posts made elsewhere that clarify my statements above:

Not lingering, only passing through. And after being subjected to your propensity for farting , I'm leaving all the more quickly! See ya!

I don't usually like to pick on people, but are you perhaps related to Richard Simmons, Jennifer Tilly, or some other f**ked up little f**ker? Just curious.

I have never had any "problems" with Django...but atleast once a month...i must keep asking myself "WHY GOD DOES THIS GUY KEEP SAYING HE'S LEAVING? AND THEN PERSISTS TO COME BACK" I mean Django's what...30 something..Damn...i am 21 and i know when i am saying that i am leaving (especially from a place where all I would get is ridiculed about everything that I would say)....i would leave. I wonder how long it's going to be now til we see Django or even Dwango.

1). It's not blind hatred, you brought it down all over your own self.
2). None of it was any pettier than your very own antics, in fact quite the opposite.
3). I'd bet you fit squarely into the age demographic as many of us are 35+ here. If you want to use it as a crutch, then by all means do so. I think it would be healthier for you to figure out what it is about yourself that virtually everyone here finds so abrasive about you and work on fixing that. I am a member of many online communities and I would wager that you would encounter the same reaction that you got here from any one of them.
Stay, or go. Just make up your mind and stick with it.

Jeez Louise. I've been gone a week and right before I left, you said "I quit! I'm never coming back to MoFo again!" -- and still, you made another thread!
You are like a damn infomercial on TV that never goes off! You just keep repeating, and repeating, and repeating!!!
Somehow, I think you learned this gimmick from when you tried to sell weight-loss products through the internet.

I don't come here often, but it seem like the last time I was here (1-2 months ago), he was promising to leave. I haven't read many of his posts, but it is odd how to keep saying you're leaving and then keep coming back.
If you are leaving because you don't like how you are treated, then I wouldn't keep coming back to see how you are being treated, because it will just be more of the reason you were leaving in the first place. Boy, that was one convoluted sentence.
