At 09:30 today (09/17/2016) a yet unidentified person or group detonated an IED near the finishline of the Semper 5 run in Seaside Heights, NJ. Thankfully, due only to the fact that the race was delayed, no one was injured but, had the event been staged as planned hundreds would have been within the 150ft. blast radius of the munition.
The Semper 5k races assist wounded Marines and the majority of the participants are Marines.
I sincerely hope that, before they leave this earth, the individual(s) who placed the IED, and any who supported them, come to fully comprehend that Marines do not transition...and that there is a certain part of us that will always remain hard... If any Marine gets to the perpetrators before the Federal (In)Justice Department, I merely hope that the perpetrator(s) is/are able to comprehend this fact in spite of the pain they will be in...so they can understand just how royally they F-ed up before they are sent to meet their creator...
