What sizes do they need to be? I have tried about 56,385 different GIFs.

I always use ezgif.com to change the size, if it still doesn't work maybe the gif is too long

It took me about 56,386 different tries before mine worked properly.

I never even noticed yours was a GIF until now, and I've seen you quite a bit.

Yeah, seems like you've already got this sorted, but in case it's useful to anyone else: the upload mechanism will allow animation, and it'll resize images if they're too large...but not both simultaneously. If a GIF has to be sized down, the animation will be lost.
