View Full Version : Anyone Ever Make A Movie With One Character?

I tried the more conventional way, but people can't be depended on unfortunately. I already have a screenplay. It would need to be adjusted (or maybe not).. I also have a music studio, so I can do the entire soundtrack by myself, and act it out myself... I'm just wondering how I can shoot it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Locke is an interesting movie. Sure there's a few other characters, but the film is basically one guy driving in his car, and all the others characters are people he talks to on his hands-free phone.

See if Tom Hanks is available.

Yeah, I don't think I could depend on others.. I once borrowed a tiny camera with velcro to tape to the passenger side to film me while driving, but it was too shaky. I took a lot of stock footage on travels overseas, but they are stuck in my broken laptops and computers. Maybe I'll just dub a story :)

This Bollywood movie. 'Yaadein' means memories.

That's the only one I've seen and liked. I saw it again recently. I was going to say "But I don't look like any public figure" but a few people think I look like Stanley Kubrick :)

In the same vein as Locke, Buried (2010) features one character just talking to others via cellphone. That might be the easiest route to take.

You say you don't want to rely on other people, but you don't actually need them to film it so it's not like they'd be holding up production. You just get their dialogue recorded whenever they're available, and add it in afterwards.

Yeah, I definitely can't depend on anyone, not even for voices. People don't seem to wanna do anything. Oh well.

But I did something else.. I took footage, and thought I might dub in my own voice with slight variations. Writing is hard enough without that issue, but maybe one day, who knows. Sometimes I have the enthusiasm, and sometimes I don't.

What about asking people here for help?
