It's anonymous too :)

Other. Maybe Gary Johnson depending on how compelling I find the Other.

Clinton.

I don't like her but I hate Trump and she is the only one who can possibly defeat him.

Still don't understand how this is what America has decided for it to come down to. Quite pathetic, really.

What's next, Carrot Top and Bill Cosby?

Who's Gary Johnson? Yeah I've heard him mentioned here, but what and who is he? If he has any supporters my vote is up for grabs so start convincing me who I should vote for.

I have loved and believed in this man before he ever decided to run for office. He really has a passion to make a difference. To make America great again.

Hillary is a piece of sh*t who only wants to win to have the title of being "the first female president." She rigged the primaries so Bernie Sanders - who I liked as a Democratic candidate - would lose. She and Tim Kaine will continue where Barack Obama left off in totally ruining the United States of America.

I picked Hillary, Bernie cant win, and Trump needs to be avoided like a "we should have known better" cryptic example for what his term would be.

Jill Stein :p You'd be surprised at how much impact your short post had on me. I had heard the name Jill Stein, but then forgot it. After I seen your post, I looked up Jill Stein and read she's head of the Green Party (http://www.gp.org/)

We are grassroots activists, environmentalists, advocates for social justice, nonviolent resisters and regular citizens who’ve had enough of corporate-dominated politics. Government must be part of the solution, but when it’s controlled by the 1%, it’s part of the problem. The longer we wait for change, the harder it gets. Don’t stay home on election day. Vote Green.

Good enough for me, I'm not kidding either, thanks to CiCi, I'm voting Jill Stein!

The only reason I didn't put Jill Stein as a possible answer because she's only on 37 states (so far), but I would definitely support her.

She's a very witty, and perceptive woman, with a brilliant sense of humour. I'd definitely vote for her, and I think a lot of disillusioned Bernie supporters will back her over Hillary.

It depends in which state you live in though, I don't follow American politics paticularly closely, but it looks as though she's struggling to get on the ballot in a number of states at the minute.

Yeah... I think if there is a wasted vote, it's voting for someone you don't believe in. This seems to be an election not FOR but AGAINST.

Evil of two lessers... It seems like the candidates pick us. And the media.

really can't understand why anyone would vote third party. you realize that there is a 0% chance johnson or stein will be president, right? if you want to have any sort of influence in the outcome of the election, vote for someone with an actual chance. whether you hate both clinton and trump or not, one of them will be president, so if you like one candidate .1% better than the other, why would you not try to get them in the white house over the one you like less? imo, you should vote for the one who doesn't want to ban an entire religion from the country and doesn't openly ask for russia to hack into his opponent's emails, but you do what you want.

I'm the guy not voting at the moment but I definitely disagree with this sentiment. If we ever want to have legitimate third and fourth party options in this country we are going to have to start showing there is a call for it.

I am in no way supporting Trump but boy am I getting a kick out of listening to Clinton supporters talk about how wreckless Trump was with those comments. I was under the impression compromising national security in a careless manner was no biggie.

That's the problem with American voters. Thinking there is only two choices.

I don't understand why that should stop people supporting either if that is their ideal candidate? I think the lets vote this gal/guy because we like this guy/gal less movement is the worst and they always ruin elections.

Because you have a deep dislike for both? Why are so many people allergic to third party choices? Shouldn't that be an option for people to show their displeasure at the major candidates?

imo, you should vote for the one who doesn't want to ban an entire religion from the country and doesn't openly ask for russia to hack into his opponent's emails, but you do what you want.

I think both sides are mostly going to vote on soundbytes like this. I hope most don't and they look into stuff for themselves before deciding.

I voted on Brexit! Haven't been above the voting age long enough to do anything else, but I can't see myself missing a local/general election.

I agree with the sentiments that you should for your ideal candidate, as well. I know it's difficult sometimes, but I disagree with tactical voting. In my belief, you vote for the party that best reflects your ideologies and attitudes, and if I was American, I'd vote for Jill Stein. I'd like to think that more American parties will gain prominence following this, and it looks as though the Libertarians and Greens really could this time! This could be their only opportunity to for some time... Unless Kanye actually does run in 2020

I think there could be problems with either as president, but I think Clinton would be allowed to do some damage. I'm not sure Trump would be allowed to follow through with any crazy ideas. I do not like Clinton, and I've always liked Trump as an entertaining personality. These appear to be two poor candidates. Right now, I'm leaning Trump.

I think people who don't live in small (compared to the US) cities don't really realize how important our vote is and how garbage the lesser of two is, well i think a lot think the same here but whatever. It's garbage.

I don't know to do all this.. Some people already voted who would have voted for Jill. The only reason I left her off is because she isn't in every state, and took the "Other" as Jill Stein, unless someone is writing-in.

No Vote.

I have to agree with Inmate though, voting anyone other than Trump or Hilary is going to be a waste of a vote.

Every election there always seems to be a big movement of striking your ballot, but I never see any real numbers on those either.

In my most recent election, I voted for the third party from a simple mathematical stand point. Canadian voting is different than American, I'm not voting specifically for my Prime Minister. So did I vote Trudeau? No, but I'm glad he beat out Harper.

IF, I were American.....the lesser of the two evils.

Yoda

The point of voting for a third party is not to win this election: it's a vote to make those ideals more politically viable in future elections. This can happen either through the rise of a third party or (more likely) through the gradual assimilation of those ideas into one of the two party platforms.

It's only a waste if you think each election should be treated like the final election. And that posture is self-fulfilling: if the electorate shows that it'll always get in line for a mediocre or awful candidate rather than "waste its vote," then there's no incentive for the parties to nominate anyone different.
