Hey Guys. My names Nick and I want to better understand movies. I grew up watching literally hundreds of films and just love the medium. I try to be open to all different forums of film, but I am particular to the 90's and 00's since I grew during that period.
I've been doing a bunch of movie reviews on youtube and I want to start talking about these films with a wider audience. For example I want to discuss questions like: what do any of you think of Pitch Black? So many people call it a shallow action film, but why? Do you feel the characters where well done? Do you think that Fry was the main character, or was it Riddick? Maybe you haven't seen Pitch Black, but what about the Grey was it supposed to be an action movie? I thought it was a drama. Was the lack of realism a fault of the film, or was the whole journey a bit more metaphorical. I have tons of opinion on all sorts of different films, but i find myself without a group to discuss them. I'd really love to start a discussion with any of you about some of these films. The channel is called Roommate Review. I make the Is It Great section. I hope to hear what you think about any of these movies.

I would start from early film.. I can understand if you don't like silent films, so you could start in the 1930's, and try to watch the best movies in each decade and work your way up.

Roomate you should post here and that might attract posters to check out your channel. A good film debate works wonders for advertising ;)

I actually loved Pitch Black, and hated the sequels and such after. Pitch Black was unique because it was a sci-fi horror film with a badass put in the middle. It was fresh, fun, and durable- Id still enjoy it today.

Chronicles Of Riddisck was so ass, it was like watching He-Man and the Masters of the Universe he was so powerful. Just

Also, if you fill out your Top 10 and Lists, we know your favorite stuff, and with the Lists, there might be great movies similar to your Top 10 you haven't seen.

If you see a great movie, look for the director's other movies (I like starting from their first movies, and work chronologically if you can).. Also if you find a member here whose tastes you like, take their recommendations. I've watched many great movies here, where in other movie forums I don't think I would have seen as many.

I didn't care for Pitch Black. I couldn't say why because I don't remember it.

Welcome:)

Thanks for all of the responses! I will fill out my information right away. So if I wanted to post my videos here what section would they fall under and is it appropriate to post my youtube videos here? I have review/editorials on a few different films and I would love some feed back.
