It was in my bottom two, but I did enjoy it. The only one I didn't enjoy was Carrotblanca.

I agree that Carrotblanca was the only bad one in the bunch.

I think I was one of the only ones who enjoyed Pappy's Puppy. I think it's just because I'm a really big Sylvester the Cat fan.

Pretty sure it was only me and Topsy that didn't have it bottom two though?

I had Pappy's Puppy at #9.

06 & 05. Rabbit of Seville & Rabbit Seasoning (41 points)

Seasoning:

Probably the most iconic of all the Looney Tunes cartoons, Rabbit Seasoning has some of the funniest gags of all time. Every time Daffy's face is distorted or disaffirmed, I die of laughter. This cartoon also has some of the best interactions between Daffy and Bugs, only to be contested by the other shorts in the "Hunting Trilogy". Again, I love this cartoon, but there is only so much to say that hasn't already been said about a 7 minute cartoon. One of my personal favorites.

Sevile:

This is one of my absolute favourite Looney Tunes cartoons, favourite doesn't always mean best for me but i truly think this is one of the best. Saying that, i completely agree with gbg i prefer What's Opera Doc? and i also think it is better. The only reason i didn't nominate What's Opera Doc? was because i expected someone else too, same with Duck Dodgers.
I went with the next best thing, another fantastic Looney Tunes venture into classical music.

Anyway i don't want to compare this to What's Opera Doc? throughout because it will sound like i'm being negative even though this is one of my favourites, but the main things that are missing is the emotional touch to WOD and IMO WOD has the best voice acting (singing) in any Looney Tunes cartoon particularly from Elmer Fudd.

Elmers face when he first realizes he's on stage is one of my favourites in Looney Tunes. While a bit lesser than the voice acting in the short i keep mentioning, it is still incredibly fantastic here. It doesn't have Elmer's continually changing character as much but it also has Bugs fast singing at the start that is one of the few things it eclipses WOD on. I love when Bugs is wearing the green dress thing, and he is snipping his scissors, i watched this short in slow motion once and that part was actually the part that made me fall in love with Looney Tunes Animation. Not that it is a particularly amazing scene but i think it is the best done in this short. The classic scene here is of course Bugs barber scene with the fruit and Elmer's ensuing chase having reverted to anti-bugs after lifting his spell haha. The best thing about this short may be Bugs face for me. In my Duck Amuck write up i praised them not forgetting about Daffy's facial expression and movement so this may seem pretty inconsistent (coz it is) but i adore how often Bugs has that bug eyed so pleased with himself look throughout the cartoon. Gives an air of smugness that no character captures better than Bugs IMO.

With Nope mentioning repetitive jokes i'd just like to give a shout out to the guy off screen comes in with a bigger weapon joke.

Sorry for mentioning What's Opera Doc? so often btw i just find it difficult not to compare them and i was also expecting it to be nominated.

Yeah, Carrotblanca was the only one that didn't really "feel" like a Looney Tunes cartoon.

I'm shocked to see Rabbit Seasoning this low. I thought it was one of the best cartoons nominated, and I even voted for it over one of my own noms.

It probably wasn't helped that I voted so many things over it even though it was my nom.

04.Drip Along Daffy - 42 points

http://i63.tinypic.com/qqxq2q.jpg

Daffy can't even catch a break when he's the good guy.

I nominated this short because I've been really into westerns recently. I just wanted to nominate something that kinda shows where my head has been. Plus this is a really good representation of the western genre. It's a total lampoon, but it hits just about every major point every other western hits. From the opening musical number to the crafty victory from the supposedly over-matched lawmen. Perhaps the only western parody to do it better is Blazing Saddles, and Blazing Saddles owes a lot to the Looney Tunes.

Will reveal the top three together. Just think it was pretty obvious it would end up these three, and there's no ties.

Drip Along Daffy is good, but I thought it was more "middle-of-the-list" good. I'm surprised to see it this high.

BTW. what happened to the write-ups with the reveals?

Yah, sorry bout the let down reveal at the end tbh but thank you guys for taking part. Me and gbg had a thing about talking about Looney Tunes, and when she suggested it i just knew i had to host it, think i'm probably not the best at hosting things like this so i'm looking forward to someone else doing so meaning Nope if he wants to.
