Well almost...

Heard yesterday on the news that there is a new childrens camp in Florida where you can send your children away for the summer giving you the break you deserve. But, it's controversial. You see it's a nudist camp for kids! Consevatives are outraged! Some liberals are too in all fairness.
The police have already arrested one man for leering. He claims he's not a pervert, he was just...well looking.

Any chance you'd send your kids there?

I actually know a girl who grew up going to nudist camps for summer trips. She turned out okay and she said she enjoyed it all.

But my god, nudist summer camps for kids? I personally think it's insane. We are an advanced civilization.... CLOTHES EXIST! Plus, I don't get the nudist way of life myself. It all seems very sexual to me, even if they try to denounce that. I don't like the thought of kids being sent off somewhere by their parents to be naked with other people. I just can't fathom it. Little boys and little girls running around butt naked freely in an environment that I assume is run by adults? Is this the place that Michael Jackson is planning on moving to? :rolleyes: OMG, wait, I did hear that he was thinking about moving to Florida.... YES! It's true! That SICK SICK MAN! Eeeggahhhh! :sick:

OK, so they already caught one man for leering? This means the camp is already in business?! Jesus Christ. I think this would be very traumatic. I mean, imagine a fat girl in glasses being sent off to camp. Everybody picks on her in 2nd grade. But before she goes to 3rd grade, she has to be taunted all summer long because the kids saw her fat ass, her private parts, and you know what I mean. Complete lunacy. And can children really go there and be OKAY with all of this? What the hell is the brochure to this place like? How does it even attract people?

If I had kids, I would never send them to a place like that. It'll probably be shut down anyway.

It would be interesting to study and compare kids between a nudist and clothed enviroment.

Would children who attend nudist camps be more or less self-conscious of their bodies?

It's pretty well known that advertisements attempt to make everyone feel ugly so the can sell beauty products and other such items. Would attendees of nudist camp/colonies be less likely to purchase such items or be affected by such campaigns?

Tons of other interesting question abound.

Kong you make an interesting point. My first response would be no, kids who are more comfortable with their bodies (with the exception of Sexy's example) would be less likely to suffer from body image anxiety in their adult lives. In Europe nude beaches are aplenty, and they seem to have no trouble with shyness. Just look at some of their commercials.

But, the question is: Would Kong send his 8. 9, 10 year-old chimps to this nudist camp?

I fail to see the non-sexual side of nudist camps. I think it's all a big lie. All a big stupid scam. Being naked gets you in touch with your sexual side - kids getting naked together lures adult men with pedophilic fantasies - it's just wrong, I say. We are all the same species. You see two groups of naked people - one in a "nudity is a way of life!" attitude at a nudist camp, Kate and Karen trying to talk about their jobs while their 38 year old boobs pop out at each other and their husbands asses are in their faces, and their kids are riding around naked on tricycles - and then there's another group of naked people, and they go to these sex camps they also have, where people get together for some sexual fun - and hey, they might even have swinging sessions. Which group sounds more ridiculous to you?

And what about the "naturalists" nudist magazines they've been selling forever? You can find a certain one at Borders in the pornography section -- I've seen it (an unopened copy, that is). C'mon! Why do they have nudist magazines and videotapes? Pedophiles buy these things because it's the only form (that I know of) of child pornography that's legal out there. And why is it found amongst other softcore and hardcore pornography? Could it be that, under the thin layer of the liar's club makeup, the nudity of "naturalists" at these camps is just another expression of sexual desire?

We associate nudity with sexual behavior, because in our culture the only time we are generally nude with anyone else is when sexual behavior is occuring or about to occur.

If we were all nude all the time Kong doubts that it would seem so sexual.

To further prove my point about this, I just went to that Lake Como Nudist Resort website -- and they have downloadable videos of naked people playing Nude Tennis or Nude Volley Ball that you can download for a fee. I, however, only saw the free preview -- a small slideshow of bare butts with tennis rackets scrolling across my screen. Now why do we really need to buy videos of them play nude sports? What does that have to do with booking a spot there or even just generally checking the place out? First, they should have pictures, yes - a short film to download and watch, maybe. But they're asking people to PAY for videos of naked people hitting birdies and volleyballs? Gimme a break. It's so sexual - it's just like the magazines you can find.

True...but it would not cease to be sexual...it would simply cease to be AS sexual, in my opinion.

That said (and I realize this is only somewhat related), I don't even remotely buy into the idea that our clothing disappears as our alleged enlightenment grows. Ask yourself: what type of person typically desires to run around naked? What type of person generally seeks to shed their clothing? If you've ever spent any time around them, you know the answer is children. Modesty is a sign of maturity -- not sexual oppression or anything of the sort.

True, we wear clothing partially out of tradition, but what most people fail to realize is that tradition is usually based in something quite sensible. It is not a weed which springs up of its own accord and makes a nuisance of itself...it is a seed specifically planted in hopes that it will be cultivated for (what is intended to be) the good of those who honor it.

That is the exact thing that i was thinking...and we are trying to stop having teenage pregnancy?? I guess putting NEKKID kids together, with their curiosity, at that age...UGH..and they are going to keep a eye on these kids 24/7...They all have to wear 'Do Not Touch' signs then???

There is no way they could keep an eye on all of them 24/7 and they’re sleeping in tents at night…

Something stinks to me about this whole place though... Did anyone else notice that they are selling videos of nude co-ed tennis games…
