View Full Version : Tech Savvy MoFos? Help Needed

Every now and then, my laptop throws a wobbly and I can only load Facebook.
None of my favourites work, only Facebook.
I click MoFo, Google, various game I play, nothing loads. It just sits with the little blue loading circle going round and round...
Click Facebook though, and swoosh! It loads super fast.
Closing the browser and reopening makes no difference. Usually lasts about 5-6 minutes, and then it's perfectly fine again.
I've Googled to try to find an answer, but there's nothing I can find that's of any help.
Any ideas on what the hell is going on?
I reckon Windows is being awkward because I refused the Windows 10 upgrade. Then got pissed with it and did it, then returned back to 7 immediately.

Rodent do you have these problems with other browsers on the same computer? If you only have one browser you should download (from a safe place) another browser and see if you still have the problems.
Are you having any other computer glitches or just buggy downloading of web sites?
Also how did you get back Windows 7 after you upgraded to Windows 10?
Did you do by using Windows built in roll back feature? That's located Start Menu>Settings>Update & Security>Recovery> 'Go Back to Windows 7>Get Started>Select a Reason>Next
If you did it some other way you might still try the above method as it might reinstall missing files/directories.

Yeah when doing the 7-10 upgrade, the system has in place a restore function. This problem though has been ongoing since before the upgrade though, but I reckon it's just Microsoft being uppity about me not upgrading.
I've tried other browsers though in the past.
Google Chrome downloaded a Trojan virus and I had to spend 13 hours of downtime tracking through the millions of files finding the exe files It installed.
Chrome is awful. It changed my homepage on Chrome and on IE to some ad site malware thing. So I sorted it out, then it changed again and wouldn't let me delete Chrome.
I had to shut off from the web, and spent all that time going through all the files. I found it attached to all sorts of stuff from music files to jpg images, start up programs, all sorts. It basically duplicated itself so when I deleted a bunch, it still had other duplicates in the system so it could change my homepage to that site.
I hate Chrome.
This glitch is the only one I have though.
It may just be some update it's doing, but I find it odd that Facebook works fine and the other sites just won't load. Then after 5 or 6 minutes it's fine again.

I don't think it's Microsoft being uppity about you not upgrading.
If you had a Trojan virus.... you still might have something on your system. You might have, I dunno, malware or spyware or something. I think there's something on your computer that you accidentally caught that's doing this. I'm not an expert, but that's my guess.

Instead of manually trying to track infected files, why not use something like AVG Free to scan the system for you? It's quite possible that you missed something, and removing it might solve your problems.
Once you can guarantee your computer is not infected, if you are still having problems you should backup all your files to an external drive and do a clean install of Windows 7.

Not Windows 10 rollback, your problem is either your computer is still infected, malware/trojans/spyware/root kits/ can hide in the boot sector and reload itself, even after clean up, every time you restart your computer. You can't manual go through your files and be 100% sure you find the culprit.
You need some deep cleaning and it takes time. This is a malware removal guide, that is complete! But is time consuming. You might need a free day to fully clean and then protect your computer.
