I thought you were a girl when you first started posting.

I think people tend to assume 'guy' until given any reason to think otherwise, it's just a fairly guy-heavy gender balance on here.

We probably already do, somewhere...

Addendum: definitely agree with Thursday that "guy until proven otherwise" is right most of the time in any niche community (maybe a stretch to call movies a niche, but you probably know what I mean) that isn't overtly feminine.

One of the funniest things about gender in communities, though, is how guys and girls seem almost equally likely to have an attractive woman as their avatar.

I think I saw someone refer to you as her/she not long after I joined. But had I not seen that, I probably would've guessed male because, like other people have admitted to, I always assume male until proven otherwise.

Online I am always mistaken for male, but that's completely understandable given my tastes. I don't even notice any more unless they're talking specifically to me, and sometimes even then I forget to correct them.

You're a bisexual man. Maybe gay, but I think bisexual. You have an interest in punk girls and I think you like them that way. Possibly you might even be straight, but you're not afraid to admit that some guys are attractive.

I think it can be hard to fool what sex you are. One of the reasons I'm not convinced that transgenderism is real is because I've noticed male-to-female trans people doing behavior things that seem very male to me, and female-to-male trans people doing behavior things that seem very female. That's one reason why I'm not convinced they truly have the brain of the opposite sex they were born as. I believe there are inborn differences between men and women and it shows up in their behavior.

You don't ACT like other women I've seen on the internet. And yes, the way you act can come across in how you post. It can come across in what you choose to say and do. I'd be shocked if you were female.

I liked Art because there weren't any requirements being trying out certain mediums or techniques, I just got graded for much effort and creativity went into it.

And Animation because I actually like animation.

That was actually one of my worst classes too because they graded classwork and projects 50/50 even though 99% of the class was projects.

They twice had college speakers come in and give us a short survey over how interested in their school.

I was so UNinterested that I ignored the survey and kept working on my Flash project.

At the end of the semester despite pumping the most work and effort into my projects thab any other student I failed the class because those two one-page surveys were half my grade and a 50% is an F.

Talk about bittersweet memories!

That's kind of what Animation was like for me. I knew more/was better at it than my teacher. And I was a fan of that teacher - she was one of my favorites through high school.

I remember we had an assignment to make a stop-motion short, I wanted to make something good so I put a lot of effort into it. It was a team project but no one else in the damn class cared so I just did everything myself. Not implying mine was anything special, it's basically all a 16 year old can do by himself with limited means, but I was proud of it. And I thought there would be some comparable projects but honestly, when we went to show what our teams had made everyone else's was half-assed, unfinished, etc. I'm just saying it like it is. No one else in the class gave a damn except me, and that's probably the only reason I was the best of the class, but still. I sucked at life, sucked at all my other classes - but that Animation class was where I excelled. I felt like a champ.

I was going to say, if this is a common thing then I went to super boring schools.

In Grade School we only had Math, English, French, Science, Social Studies, Music and Gym. In the lower grades we had Art, then later it was Computers. There was a wider variety of classes in High School, where Math, English, Writing, and a generic Science class was required. You then also had to choose a specific Science (Physics, Chemistry, etc) to take for two years, and also had to take either History or Geography for two years, as well as either Enterprise or Home Economics for one year. Everything else was electives, but it wasn't a huge variety. There were some Music classes, basic Art Classes, Physical Education, French, Theatre Arts, Computer Technology classes, one Robotics class...and I think that was it. haha

Since I graduated, that school has gotten rid of some of the electives (like Robotics), revamped the Art classes, and they have more workshop-oriented classes now. Also strange things like Archery. It's like, damn, despite the fact that I'm way too old now, I kinda want to go take some of those High School classes haha.
