Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!

It's not over yet. Since two of my family members couldn't make it home today, Friday, my family and a bunch of my friends are going to go out for dinner to celebrate. That should be fun.

But I still did a little celebrating today. Two of my friends and I went to see the new Miles Davis biopic, Miles Ahead. I unfortunately didn't care too much for it, as I didn't feel I gained much insight into the life of Miles, but I had a good time hanging out with my buds. There was nothing but positivity and that's what I like.

When we came back, we jammed a little and then put on Curse of Chucky, as we have been watching the Chucky movies in their entirety. Actually, we had already seen Curse a while ago, but decided to rewatch it so we could probably rank the films in our head.

Then I came home and went out to dinner with me mum, which was quite fun.

Presents? I got some cool stuff. My friends gave me:

- A book called Jazz 101, about the history of the musical genre
- A vinyl (Murder Ballads by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds)
- Something called "Musician's Dice" which is basically 12 die with chord names on them, and you throw them and take the chords that they land on and use them to create a chord progression. I love it, it seems like a lot of fun and could make for a cool exercise.

Got to get that framed and hung ASAP.

Also, my mom got me an Amazon gift card, and a drum practice pad which will be getting here Saturday. Quite a nice gift, it's what I need more than anything right now, as I need something so I can practice my snare rudiments late at night or early in the morning without disturbing anyone.

So I got a lot of great stuff. But it was the spending time with people who care for and respect me, and who I in turn care for and respect, that meant the most. My life is at such a peak right now, or at least it feels like that. When I returned to this forum in 2013, I was recovering from my mental breakdown and was pretty much a complete recluse. I didn't get outside, my social life was scant if not non-existent. I felt bad inside a lot. Nothing was right.

Switch to now, in this new town, this new area, and I am reborn! I have an undying passion as a musician that keeps me alive and cheerful, and friends who I constantly feel compassion for and who return that feeling. I couldn't be happier, and having people celebrate my utter existence - people like you guys - well, it means a lot. So thanks.
