Exciting news.

My wife is pregnant.

She just dropped the news on me today with chocolate chip pancakes that spelled out DAD. We haven't told anyone yet, we want to wait the 3 months first, but I feel like no one here will spoil the news to people I know :p

I can't even imagine how my life is about to change. It's scary, exciting and nerve-wracking all at once. When I first joined Mofo I just started dating my wife. It had been probably 4-5 months. Now more than a decade later we are married and expecting our first child.

I better get my movie watching and Mofo fighting in now, who knows how much time I'll have once the little one has arrived. :p

As of right now there are no plans to find out the sex of the baby beforehand. She wants it to be a surprise. We've talked about some names for either outcome and will post pictures of course once the baby has arrived.

I just had to tell someone (dozens of people I guess).

Yeah, we're waiting the 3 months.

Her sister got pregnant with their second child, told everyone, people all bought gifts and what not and then she had a miscarriage, which is very common in the early stages of pregnancy. So instead of dealing with all that we're waiting until after the first trimester where the chances of a miscarriage significantly drop.

Congratulations! The thing you're worried about is what happened to me. My wife was pregnant, she told everybody, and so I told a few people, and then she miscarried. The second time, we were more cautious. We were assured once they can detect a heartbeat, the chances of a miscarriage go way down. Best of luck to you and your wife.

We told our immediate family. They are all super excited. My side more than her side, this will be my parent's first grandchild. It will be her parent's third. So I feel that throughout the entire thing my family will be more excited, which always seems to be the case....don't get me started on the wedding problems!!!!

We plan on telling our friends and others in early June.

We went to an early ultrasound....all I saw was a peanut, hahahaha.

Only a few weeks left before I go back to work. Been off since Miles was born, which was June 8th. It's been really nice to be at home with the family. Looking forward to going back to work, but at the same time I'm going to hate it.

Oh well.

That's a long time! I had 3 weeks and I thought that was long. It is a nightmare going back but the thought is definitely worse. Good luck anyway TUS. At least you get to look forward to getting home to Miles.

Well, this year my passport expired so we decided to just stay in Canada. Went out east to PEI for a week, did day-cations mostly in Toronto, Niagara, etc.

I could have taken 6, but I didn't want to be too greedy :p
