To answer the threads question it's not. I smoked it for about five years pretty regularly, mostly because friends did too i had some good times on it but i stopped in 2012 when i realized i wasn't getting much from it and haven't smoked it since. People still do it around me and offer me a draw of a joint, a bong (or a bucket haha) but i just never want it.

I've tried alcohol. I just don't like it.
We always had all kinds of alcohol in the house when I was growing up, and my parents offered a small taste to me even when I was young. My college friends tried to get me to try everything from beer to wine coolers to exotic drinks. I heard the phrase "Try this, you can't taste the alcohol." over and over again. I just never liked the taste of any kind of alcohol.
I never had any interest in trying any kind of drugs. I guess my parents just raised me right. :D

Nothing that I was personally involved in, but years ago I worked two doors down from a pharmacy, and I was working the day a car drove through their front window and nearly killed an employee who was a friend of mine. (She was warned by a customer who was looking out the window at the time, and she jumped over the counter just in time to save her life.)
I hate tea and coffee as well, but long island iced tea is simply divine

There's an episode of "The Big Bang Theory" where Penny gives Sheldon a Long Island Iced Tea, but doesn't tell him that it's got alcohol in it. He gets drunk and confronts Wil Wheaton.
You should watch that episode. It's hysterical.

L.I. Iced Teas also tend to be particularly tasty and particularly potent. Since they are tasty, one might be more inclined to drink it faster or in greater quantities which can be quite disastrous considering the mix of strong alcohol they contain.
It does sound lethal, but you honestly can't tell any alcohol is in it!

Exactly. That's why they're kind of dangerous and inexperienced drinkers might start gulping them down (only to find themselves falling-down drunk or vomiting later).
I didn't see the episode gbg mentioned, but that's probably why Sheldon drank it. They look like a regular Iced Tea and they even taste a little it.
When I worked in the restaurant it was one of my camouflage drinks that the bartenders would make for me when I was underage - because it looked just like regular Iced Tea. My other camouflage drink was Old Grandad (whiskey) and Ginger Ale - because it just looked like Ginger Ale! ;)
Camo, I think it's because we're British, and our humour is a lot more blue and innuendo filled! Because I don't know a single person here who finds that show remotely funny, and I don't either. I've never smoked marijuana myself, though I've gotten plenty of contact highs while attending concerts or hanging out with friends.
It's not important to me at all, but I do support its legalization (and not just for medical use, like it is here in California).

Yeah cause the ratings are always right
Honey Boo Boo:
The series premiere episode attained a 1.6 rating in the 18–49 demographic, attracting 2.2 million viewers.[11] The series was one of TLC's highest-rated shows in its first season.[12] The August 29 episode, airing on Wednesday night during the 2012 Republican National Convention, attracted almost 3 million viewers and scored a 1.3 rating among 18- to 49-year-olds, the highest rating in that age group for any cable program that night,[13] though about 20 million in all were watching the convention. Fox News convention coverage was second in the time period with a 1.2 rating, followed by NBC coverage with 1.1.[14]

Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Laugh tracks are very interesting from a sociological point of view. We tend to laugh when other people laugh, it's like a trigger. We may be convinced something is funny that we don't think is funny simply because the people around us start laughing. I think most of us would find most sit-coms quite different without the laugh track. I like when some shows used to be filmed in front of live studio audiences (for a more authentic feel as far as the reaction to the comedy went).
I also like when laugh tracks are made fun of - I remember a Monty Python skit where Michael Palin was a smarmy TV host and had a laugh-track / applause button - when he let it go, the laughing would stop so abruptly that it became hilarious in how it sounded.

Laugh tracks don't actually bother me much. I've watched clips of some of my favourite sitcoms without laugh tracks (most of my favourite comedies don't have them though) and i still find them funny but The Big Bang Theory without the laugh track just shows how boring, lazy and awkward the comedy of that show is.

I didn't like it at first.. Even though I was the oldest teen in our group in the neighborhood, I never caved in to peer pressure. When I smoked the first few times, I didn't really feel anything, I'm sure it was more mind over matter.
But, I was smoking with regular smokers, and it was too much. I'd advise new smokers to take 1-2 puffs, and when you stop feeling something, take one more puff. When you are a regular user, you get diminishing returns, so there's no real incentive to keep smoking.
I smoked with a cousin who I loved hanging out with, a little reluctantly at times.
But then I met a girl who loves pot, but I was a light smoker then, but it was a part of our relationship. Sex, pot, and rock and roll.
If I didn't smoke grass, I'd smoke cigarettes. But grass also helps me sleep. The first two days in SF when I had none, I remember my body being so tired, but I felt wide awake. Third day, a friend I met from imdb, gave me his, and I slept fine. No hangover either. No one can die from smoking it, it's a plant.
It's even legal in North Korea!

Neither did i, i smoked weed before most of my friends. I think i kept smoking it because most of my friends were but that wasn't peer pressure, was more just a may as well attitude since it was there and i was being offered; haven't smoked it in four years now though basically as soon as i realized that was the case.
When you are a regular user, you get diminishing returns, so there's no real incentive to keep smoking.
My brother in law has smoked it since he was 11 (he's now 35) and rarely gets stoned from it now, still has to smoke it every day though.
Have you ever tried these Matt? - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravity_bong
Just curious, that is how i usually smoked it (over here they get called "buckets"); when you don't get stoned from them like my brother in law you clearly have a problem.

I think I have smoked from gravity bong. Too much work, but I always prefer smoking joints. That's the best part, the activity. Nowadays a few puffs gets me buzzed, but I like to smoke. It'll go out, then light it later, etc.
I used to smoke pot, but I quit because it was a destructive force in my life.

i would take weed over alcohol any day of the week. it helps me with anxiety, menstrual cramps, headaches, and nausea. it doesn't give me a hangover (i'm an awful lightweight with alcohol, i can only drink beer and even at that i have to be cautious on my intake if i don't want to regret it later). it's just plain enjoyable, for me. i like smoking while listening to music or while just hanging out with friends. i realize it's not for everyone (that much is obvious, just by looking at this thread), but it's definitely for me. plus, generally speaking, it's safer to have a weed habit then to have an alcohol habit.
Yeah, i agree with Ash there. The person i know that is the most dependent on weed is my brother in law who has been smoking it every day for 24 years and i'd rather be around him than the alchoholics i know easily. I know Ash didn't say anything like that but i was agreeing with her weed over alcohol habit comment.
