Just occurred to me that there's a thread for Profile Banners (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?t=34953&highlight=banners) where you can post your new one or post up creations you made/found for others to use...


But there's no thread for actual Avatars on the same subject (though there is one for showing off your newest avi (http://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?t=37382&highlight=avatar) made by SC).


So, here's the Avi Thread... like with the Banner Thread, ideas you have that might suit someone else, cool stuff you've found that someone could use etc...


If posting actual avatars, the dimensions are no wider than 110px, and no taller than 90px.

Based on a recent re-watch (http://www.movieforums.com/reviews/1494111-escape-from-l.a..html), I'd give it a very subjective 3.5. I don't deny that it's got its issues but I generally like how much it plays like a ludicrously over-the-top remake of the original.

Anyway, I've switched from Jessica Harper to Sean Young in Blade Runner. I'm going to buy a load of posters for when I head off to uni to make my room seem more homely and I'm probably going to buy this photo in poster form, most likely in colour! There's a still from Howl's Moving Castle I may buy, and obviously a Suspiria poster, too! :D

I was going to buy a Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! poster, because it's so very retro and vintage, but the main woman's boobs are far too gigantic and take up most of the frame, so that's a no :lol:
I'm not sure what other film posters I want to buy, maybe some Star Wars ones though, I've always adored their posters.

This is about as good as I could get it. Kong being black furred makes it hard to pick out a lot of detail. I layered the image so I could do the background and Kong separately.

That was strange to find out about the poisonous sting they have – worse than a snake bite apparently.

I saw a giant anteater in a documentary recently and that's incredibly strange, especially those big claws for crunching into anthills.

Reminder: when you upload, both file size and image dimensions can cause a resize (breaking the animation). Usually best to resize (or downscale quality, depending on which it is) at www.ezgif.com or any of the sites that popup when you Google "gif resize" and then go with what it produces.

I can't get that first one to work as a gif for some reason. The thing only gives me the option to download as a BMP.

The one i have right now is an Avon one which is rare since fans seem to disown Avon at some point and mythologize Stringer which is hilarious when the characters like Omar are literally obsessed with mythology. The show gives a straightforward don't support these people message outside anything it says storywise, and people still start thinking this guy was better than that guy :laugh:

I think "painted in the 15th century" is a clue... everyone back then had the plague or was dying of syphilis or dysentery... or all 3.

Doesn't look like it, but there was about 250 layers involved in making the shine of light go across the diamond and the R at different times, plus the other 30+ layers that make up the logo as a whole.

The original was stretched, so I resized the thing so it didn't look like his face was so skinny.
Only problem with doing that was when I resized the whole thing to fit MoFo's max of 110x90, it was 110 wide, but not very tall. Think originally it would have been 110x40.


So I got rid of most of the empty space on the right side so it could be the max of 110x90, so you don't lose any of the detail, and it makes the image more about the stare as well :)

Nah it's all good. The old one is about 10 years old Windows 7 machine.
It's the actual disc drive that's gone.
Plus the fan as well so it sounds like an old bi-plane from the 1930s and then overheats :D
