Here's a link for anybody who might accidentally see this and want to watch the fight. It's supposed to be a war. I guess we'll see.

Camo, can I hit play now? Let me know when you start.
Yeah sorry i was still using profile comments go for it.
Round 1:
Arturo Gatti, damn, i forgot that he didn't always fight invincible Irishmen. His reach is telling so far, and with him effectively going inside at any chance i know where this is going.
I'll give this to Gatti only slightly though he was well countered at times.
Tell me when to start round 2 JJ.

1st round:
I love Gatti as much as he loved punching the sh*t out of people. I might being scoring this with some bias, so I don't know how much you can trust me giving Gatti rounds. That said, I'd give him this round. Ruelas might be a better defender, making Gatti miss some shots, but when Ruelas hit Gatti, it didn't look like Gatti felt it.
Gatti is throwing hard, with purpose; Somewhat wild, which got him hit a couple times. He looked like the stronger fighter in the first though.

starting the second round.
Or i'm watching some background ref reading the rules before the fight.
Round 2:
Weird round, i give it to Gatti again i had that as a slip before the ref did. That round seemed to mirror Gatti's career, flashes of pure world class brilliance mixed with jittery inconsistency. He is without a doubt one of the most frustrating to watch.
He had that round though unless you scored that a knockdown.

Round 2: Gatti
Going with Gatti again, but Ruelas had a decent showing. His chin is holding up so far, as he ate a pretty nasty right. Early in the round he was connecting with some good shots, but I think Gatti took the round over with some hard shots. Nothing too nasty, but that right was nasty enough to be exciting. The slip was weird, but I do think it was a slip.

Round 3: Gatti
Gatti won this round behind his jab, pretty straightforward to me. Ruelas wasn't really going at Gatti as much as the first two rounds. And he punched Gatti in the dick too. I don't much care for dick punching.

P.S. I feel weird scoring rounds. I don't really know what criteria to use other than: "Uh, this feels right."
Round 3:
Woah i had no idea that was about to end. I'll begrudgingly give that to Gatti mostly because of the low blow. I felt Ruelas was starting to figure out how to fight Gatti before that low blow, but that seemed to upset the rhythm he was developing and allowed Gatti to refresh and start utilizing his reach advantage.
Gatti 3-0 so far
I like how we disagree there.

I see how judges can vary so wildly now, but I think I trust your opinion more than mine. But brb, I have to pee.

Same. We are scoring it by our own rules, it stops someone using the rules of boxing to survive a fight rather than try to win it. We go by eye rather than how many punches each guy landed which is stupidly deceptive.

True.
I'm back and ready for the 4th

Ahh spagett!
LEAVE!!!!!!!! :D
Round 4
I now love Ruelas thanks for bringing him to my attention even though this is probably as far as he went, he had me at round 3 but man. Funny thing is i'd say he barely won that round and Gatti still came out better off. Guy showed guts and got a surprising amount of solid hits in, especially when you realize Gatti had his guard up for most of the round.

Round 4: Ruelas
This is my type of round. Both guys landed some heavy hands, Ruelas with the best of them. Both guys showed some real grit, recovering from shots the way they did. Great round as a spectator, as a judge a little bit difficult, because you would have to separate yourself from the excitement and figure out who did better in a back-and-forth round. They traded momentum the same way the traded shots, at times Gatti had the advantage, but then he ate a shot and looked hurt, but then he recovered at the end of the round. I don't much care for the way Ruelas postures after he eats a shot, perhaps a double-standard shouldn't exist, but if it was Ali, I'd be into it. Ruelas ain't Ali.
Swan should give his own write ups of the rounds after reading ours.

Jeez, I didn't realize you guys were watching gay porno.

This is an example of a Swan sport write-up:
a huge three into the two downer one yard line into the hoop taking a turnaround towards the masterplate?
That's what the doo-doo head said to me in our facebook chat after I told him Kevin Durant hit a huge three earlier tonight.
Round 5
Ruelas won this won.
Nah, obviously i wasn't expecting this to be the last round i wasn't looking at the time. Great choice JJ, its weird how what i said about him giving everything he had and barely winning the fourth round was right.
Man i love Gatti, he looked near the end himself but kept going inside when he could have easily finished the fight by keeping his distance with his jab.

Pretty harsh since Durant only made one masterplate that night and the other guys made three touchscores.

Round 5: Us
We win this round.
Ruelas kept hitting Gatti on the chin with the uppercut, which was great. Then Gatti staggering, not defeated, swings for the fences and hits the home run. Uppercut. Uppercut. Uppercut. I love uppercuts.
We should do this some time next week JJ, plan it in advance if you are up for it.

I don't know much about Ruelas, but he held up his end of the fight. If I was grading these guys on what they brought to the table entertainment wise, they would both get high scores.
Also me and Swan and you if you want should use my thread for South Park commentaries sometime.

Never heard of him, did you just pick a random Gatti match?

absolutely. Monday, Wednesday and Fridays are best for me, usually around this time. The time will typically depend on whether or not there is a Thunder game or if I am actually getting my lazy butt on the court and playing basketball.

I saw this fight listed in a thread on a boxing forum titled "Fights You Have to Watch" with the help of the control+f function and Gatti's name.
OK. I'll message you before Monday and arrange something.
Also the only person other than me and JJ allowed to have boxing commentaries here is Swan because it would be hilarious.
