Just watched the pilot for this NBC workplace comedy which marks the return to series television for Ugly Betty's America Ferrera. She plays Amy, a shift supervisor at a fictional large discount/bulk store a la Walmart or Costco. Ben Feldman plays Jonah, who has just been hired at the store and is already attracted to Amy. Mark McKinney plays the clueless store manager and Lauren Ash plays a serious minded security employee who is probably a lesbian but thinks she's in love with Jonah. There is potential for some fun storylines and some of the supporting cast is funny, especially Ash. There is a viable chemistry between Feldman and Ferrera as long as they don't hook up too quickly and the stories are rooted in realism...in the pilot, Jonah made a major mistake that IRL probably would have gotten the employee fired, but it didn't but this is not real life, it's a sitcom, so I can forgive, but there were laughs here. I have concerns with the casting of Feldman though...this guy has appeared in more failed TV series in the past decade or so than Ted McGinley.
