This is the thread for the nominations for the sci fi horror hall o fame! Here you can nominate ANY scifi horror movie that you LOVE (or even liked, I don't really care ;) ) Anyway. Nominate away. The nomination phase of this will last until Monday October 5th. I think that is a fair time frame.

Though that might be a good idea in the future. A Mega HoF where each person nominates more than one film. It could be the 10th General HoF where each person nominates two films they love and one that they have high on their to watch list.

Sorry but I won't join this. I am already booked with the 8th and Doc HoFs and I'm not that familiar with the genre enough to nominate a film.

Yep, nine days should be good. Citz and I have already been discussing it, and we are both having trouble coming up with something. I do believe he is a lot closer to naming a film than I am, though.
I hope this gets enough people in it. It's the perfect time of year, for a thread like this.

I was hoping to join this when I saw you talking about it, but I'm already in three HoF's, so this would add too much to my plate. Really sorry about that teeter. :( Hope this goes well though!

Also, Citz, why haven't you posted that you are joining this? You told me you were in.

I know, Citz, but she can't know this unless people speak up. Besides, when people join, and name their noms, it helps get others involved.

How big are y'all planning this HoF to be? I'll maybe join, but only if we are around 10 or so at the max, give or take. I don't feel up for another close to 20 HoF right now. :p

These don't get that big. That's the biggest reason it's best to keep the numbers down. We will be at eight, if you join. It would be nice to have a couple more, but we are getting there. ;)

Yeah, maybe. It's sort of the same deal where I nominated Escape From New York for the Sci-Fi HoF despite the fact that you'd already nominated The Thing and I figured that, despite the differences between those particular films, I should have picked one by a different director (also, I noted how there might have been a few too many dystopia movies anyway...)
But yeah, couldn't hurt to throw it in. I certainly think it's leagues ahead of The Fly, in any case.

Even though Cronenburg directed both movies, each movie is very different in it's feel. Videodrome feels more like Naked Lunch.

I couldn't think of any animated Sci if horror besides Magnetic Rose which I nominated for the shorts HOF. So I nominated something conservative.

No way! I am not a huge fan of that movie. I prefer Aliens over Alien. More action! :D

Eh, why not. At this rate the only nominee I haven't seen is Pandorum so at least searching for the films won't be such a hassle.

I've seen roughly half of these before, some of them quite recently, others I'd like to refresh my memory of them. I think I will probably appreciate Alien more now than when I first watched it. I preferred Aliens and even Alien 3 (which I still maintain is a better film than most people give it credit for).
